That's why I always give Kareem the edge in the greatest Center of all time debate (vs Wilt, Bill, Hakeem & Shaq) in addition to his longevity and scoring record...
I'm from north west Ohio, two of our family friends played against lebron, I think they said three times, all three in the regional round of our state tournament. They said they'd never seen someone so fast, tall, and well coordinated. He was playing at a pro level against a bunch of small town farm boys.
Wilt, Kareem was myths in high school. Guys like them became popular because of word of mouth, no idiots on sports networks.

if bron went to a rec league in an era where the top nba players couldnt even dribble heads up,(0:56 thats howw even the top pg's dribbled they would be jealous of demarcus' handels) he would avarage WAAAAAY more and where did you find this info where he AVARAGED 70? cuz wilt fans be cappin left and right i think you meant scored lebron could easily do better if he had wilts compitition

Wilt chamberlain dropped 90 points in 28 minutes in HS
Imagine being LeBron James in high school, walking around the halls and everyone trying to dap you up😭
Kareem had 82 Games in High School
Benjamin (benji) Wilson. He was was ranked as the number 1 high school player in the country in the 80s and was also the first player from Chicago to win that honor. He helped his high school Simeon vocational school win their first championship ever. He was also 6’9’’. He received numerous scholarship offers from schools such as: Illinois, dupage and Indiana. You most likely never heard of him because in his senior year in 1984 he was tragically shot and killed . People were left wondering what would could been if he didn’t get shot and played college ball and in the NBA .

I was thinking Pistol Pete might be mentioned. I could find no stats whatsoever for him as a high schooler. He attended a military school after High school and before LSU and averaged 33 ppg. I can't believe he wasn't a high scorer in HS... Another great vid NS, but then, aren't they all! Thanks!

Please do best finishers in NBA history I would love it alot and I think other people will love it too
Im from Jersey and went to Highschool in the early 2000s so Dujuan Wagner was a God to us. He is the greatest basketball player I have seen with my own eyes. He dropped 50 pts on us and didn't even sweat. But at the same time Lebron James came right after him and he was bigger and badder I just didnt see him up close.
Next: the best highschool basketball players today
Wilt was built different 😤

Wilt in his prime was a god 50 inch vert Fast asf 100 points game Averaged 50 points in a season Averaged 20 Rebounds
Dejuan wagner needs to be in this convo
An additional factoid, seeing as we are talking only about their High School careers: Scholastic Magazine named Wilt the "Greatest High School Athlete of All Time". Not just the greatest basketball player, the greatest High School athlete, period. Jim Thorpe and [best female] Babe Didrikson Maharis rounded out the top three.

Lebron just bc of comp. Dude could've came out before senior year and was one of the few guys to ever outlive the hype....and his Hype was the an all time great lmfao. Lebron all the way
@billj4525

Lebron had the hype, but he also had the work ethic of an MJ. He optimizes his skills. Even to this day he practices and tries to improve every day. His teammates say his whole life revolves improving his basketball game both individually and team wise. His work ethic combined with talent is a big reason he became as good as he did.

Hi
Where is Kobe?
Why ask the question if you are not going to answer it
Lance Stephenson
lebron and its not close why cant people just accept that the more "modern" the era gets, the better the overall players are? You see the best pg's in wilts era? cant even dribble better than demarcus cousins and they do this for a living. Sure, the new era aint as physical as the old one, but since they cant play bully ball as much anymore, they have to settle for something we like to call, skill.
@universalplayz7496
3 жыл бұрын
Why do people like you act like the rules were the same for dribbling like if they played with the actual dribble rules everything a current player does would be called for carry so they needed to use different tactics to play and the defense back then was a lot more flexible then it was now back then you go in the paint u get bumped and bruised with no fouls here you get fouls without even contact and people do things like “drawing a foul” like the fact people try to gain fouls instead of just playing doesn’t really make the era better like there is no need to disrespect previous eras.
@billj4525
Жыл бұрын
I do think the more modern almost any skill or game gets the better people get, but because of that sometimes people don't compare modern players to older players because of the advantage of being a modern player. That's actually why you can't accurately compare past players to current players. Even if taken into account MJ was so good I still think he's the GOAT even if accounting for the modern game. Him and Lebron are the GOAT if you try to compare though in my opinion.
What about Kobe
You forgot Kobe
