The draw for the NBL in Australia/NZ isn’t just the money but the opportunity for young players to potentially get scouted for the NBA. The Next Stars program has played a significant role in this and it looks like another next star (Alex Sarr) will be a Top 5 pick in the upcoming draft.

probably because the competition isnt too good over there. i mean realistically the best competition outside of the US is the euroleague, but the risk of a talent not looking too good is high. so they choose a professional league that has decent players where a young talent can shine. still better preparation than college, dont get me wrong.

It is worth pointing out China has a far shorter season and Australia in reverse, so players will often go back to Europe or come to Europe. In case of NBL Keanu Pinder (Fuenlabrada) or Cleveland now at Maccabi. So Europe is a hot spot however China in years gone by has enabled players to rejoin the NBA and effectively get two salaries and the NBL has always been open to guys going and get 2-3 months more money in Europe. This is relevant as European sides are veet resistant to ever releasing players with buyouts, so someone like Brycr Cotton were he to want to go NBA has a far easier pathway playing down under. Having said all this thwse caveats only apply to a small handful of talent in China and Australia but it is the top talent so it is worth nothing. Equally NBL gave Bogut his last year a far larger salary and stake in Sydney if I recall correctly jusr as a fun fact albeit again a one off case

In other words: signing with teams such as Maccabi, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Efes Pilsen, Fener, Olympiacos or Panathiacos practically means you would have a chance to play in the Euroleague.

Europe in time will more than solidify its position as 2nd best in the World in terms of financilal prospects. Given that Euroleague plans to expand into big markets like Paris and London and offer them a place in the near future, this will be important step. Money and recognition will grow even further. Competitions like Eurocup and BCL raise their levels too and attract interesting prospects. Not to mention that Dubai is still in the talks and a possible spot for this team will increase even more the role of Europe and Euroleague given that inflow of investments will increase even more. Add to that the deepening relationship between NBA and Euroleague, this will further position Eurolegue on the global scale. Plus everyone in time will associate even more Euroleague in US as a very legit competition as we see a successful season can secure you a roster spot. Something which I cant say for any league outside Euroleague. Europe is much further in its overall system than any other place in temrs of marketability, financial prospects and most importantly talent-wise.

Yes it`s got a lot of potential. Fujitsu and softbank ( richer than honda and nissan ) are major sponsors of japan`s basketball league. AEON malls/family mart and 7-eleven also own some teams if I`m not mistaken. Baseball and football leagues in japan earns billions of dollars a year so basketball there needs a lot of catching up. Most imports in japan nowadays were former MVPs of NBL australia. Former national coaches of australia and new zealand are coaching in japan also. Japan is now ranked #26 in the world making it the no. 1 team in asia ( excluding australia and new zealand ). Japanese teens are also getting taller and athletic so in about 5 years the japanese national team will probably have 10 players that have an average height of 6`8".

As for overall approach to the video, it's more important not how much players get, more important is salary cap regulations, taxation and broadcasting deals, - which all directly influence the salaries. As for Japanese league, for example, it's growth not only explained by endorsement of high-profile sponsors, mostly it's related to interesting broadcasting rights deal... I would prefer to see in depth analysis, rather that simple chart with mostly no basis to it, as all the info is based on non-disclosed info... Thx

Football by far is the best sports in the world where 5'6 player can earned 600m per year. And football is 1 sports in the world. Many leagues can offer who 100m to play in just 1 year

This video makes no sense. How does the highest paid player in euro league make $5mil while their average is $3? And Giannis was never paid anywhere near $60mil in 2016, he signed a 4 year $100mil contract then. Not a credible video Just looked it up and the euro league average is around 600k, which makes way more sense

My interest for Nba has pretty much died out, its a show, a platform to biuld a brand for guys moving on to other things later on. I rather watch a Euroleague game between Olympiakos and Panathinaikos for instance, team ball insane atmosphere on top of that

I don't know. I think comparisons would be better if every salary were set in gross terms. Comparing net to gross salaries make NBA look even more far away.
