Getting accounts closed is easier said than done. Been doing that since last year and companies always give me a hard time about it and take their sweet ass time.

NO NO NO! In my experience is, I send them a notice of rescission via certified mail, and I state the following; This rescission is complete and effective upon your receipt of this notice. For others data sites I opt/security freeze my personal information, also via certified mail. I save copies of all mail so that If they continue to publish or sell my info, I now have proof to the contrary and I can use laws that govern their violations of my civil rights and hold them accountable.

Google uses the personal data to wage psychological war for the state. They run harassment campaigns, and steal intellectual property.

Very much appreciate your content as always. One of my big issues I've found myself coming across is when I'm out running an errand and when I need to buy something in person I'm compelled to give out my new and number to whatever store I'm going to in order to complete my purchase. I think I'm going to make fake accounts for them.

This is a very well balanced presentation. Other than the annoyance of getting online ads for, say a DSLR camera, when one verbally mentions DSLR camera in front of Alexa, what are the downsides that revolve around lose personal data? Considering that all data about someone has _already_ been scraped, and is in the permanent databases of these collection brokers - at this point, what are the "disaster scenario" ramifications? Thanks!

Hey Josh, If I backup my iPhone and select the option to encrypt data through iTunes to local storage and later upload that same backup to Onedrive or even iCloud, is that still encrypted and secure inaccessible to the cloud provider?
I'm a bit confused with DeleteMe - will it scrub / delete social media? LinkedIn? Or just other public records, or can it be tailored? Thanks Josh! Love your content and passion for helping others 🤙🏼

Thanks so much, James! Unfortunately they cannot scrub data on private social platforms - that's your responsibilities. All these kinds of services can do is find scraped data that is up for sale.
Thanks to *All Things Secured,* that I will take care about that. :)

I just want to add my personal privacy practice: Use a Faraday cage. They come in all sizes, available everywhere online, cheap. You can read all about the physics involved, but it (Faraday cage) blocks all radio signals. All. Highly recommend.

Much if this can be done for free but alas…. Illinois and other states (state departments) use and force integrated systems and apps and tools make it impossible to really have privacy. This should be illegal but tools like Salesforce and forcing online rather than in person service is how they “own”and are actually exploit and share your data. APIs are just as bad and micro services. Census data is also exploited by our own state governments and partners. Google is not that good either and printing them is not good. DMS is a bad actor as well and many others Brokers are a small piece of the personal privacy puzzle You can’t hide. It all should be illegal and called out for what it is. Surveillance capitalism
