I seriously miss comedy in Tamil cinema now. Comedians just want to be heroes. Lot of directors don't know how to integrate comedy into the story naturally. Only tamil movie I remember I laughed a lot last time is Maaveran.

Do you think that vijay and ajith are the only torchbearers of tamil film cinema..why cant you blame directors ,producers ,script writers or people who could have supported other actors like surya ,vikram,danush,simbu wherein all these actors are good performers... people have enjoyed all kind of genres since ages ...and that's the reason for huge fandom and starcult status...people arent fools to be so crazy ....as time evolved and with the advent of globalisation and liberisation, the taste of cinema has changed...and the reach of cinema has widened...and people's perspective too have changed ,so instead of barking about ak and vj...support other upcoming actors....stop using ak and vj's name for views and your popularity...they are legends and superstars for a reason...they have entertained us so much over these years.Let's appreciate it.

My opinion is - Tamil producers shld be open 2 select any director with excellent content from anywhere in Bharat who can deliver within INR 20 crore budget.

Actually Varun has his point. Contribution of Big heros for the industry in other languages are better and remarkable compared to tamil cinema. In malyalam pritvi fahad n even dq n nivin are producing movies for newbies. In telugu they are having so called pan india stars ( boring) . But on other hand Nani , trivikram , sukumar are producing interesting new face n young talents. Where in Tamil cinema it has become a route to politics. First thing is directors are what makes the film industry stand not actors. If you take Rajini, Kamal, they acted with the best directors at least one movie - Mani Rathnam, Shankar, K Balachander, Bharathiraja, Balu Mahendra, Mahendran etc. Kamal had creative differences with Director Mahendran, still they did Meendum Kokila for a bit and changed director If you look at Ajith or Vijay, they have not acted in Mani Rathnam movies, Vetrimaran movies or any of the top directors. Even Shankar movie Nanban was a remake, I mean it was ok, if you saw 3 idiots , this was not good at all. So they never did anything else , their fans were happy with movies like Thirupachi, sivakasi etc, Ajith did bit of experimentation with Villain , Varalaru, overall movie wasnt great. So that was basically the downfall, I think right now we have some amazing directors, so hopefully they can make some good movies. Before we had Visu, V Sekar movies which were all household hits, now its OTT, drugs, mafia , guns. Its a different age. I think we are loosing touch with comedy, I hope to see good comedy films like before if possible. Tired of the same gun and action plot in all big star movies

Once upon a time, Tamil movies had depth and actors were respected more than stars. This is during Sivaji Ganeshan, Kamal Hasaan era. The day you stop superstar workship and not consider movies as PROJECTS, Tamil industry will succeed. Tamil literature is strong. We all know about it. When you try to design movies around your super stars, you are killing the movies before making itself. Are the superstars except for Kamal Haasan, Vikram, Vijay Sethupathy, Dhanush & Suriya really ready to take risk and not worry about their image? Why dont we see a Rajnikanth moving to a character driven role? Start giving respect to your script writers and technicians. They work equally hard like your super stars. Your movies will automatically elevate and reach the audience. Does it really make sense at the age of 70+ to see him fight against 100 goons and kill them? Does it really make sense for Ajith to keep on doing movies where he is bad first and then turns out to be good? Why dont we see simple stories coming up? I really wish to see more of Vetri Maran, Mari, Kumara Thiagaraja movies.

Then, why is he playing with that mosquito bat? It’s a distraction to the audience and he might be doing that because he tried to be cool and he thinks that he’s intellectually gifted and can offer pearls of wisdom while waving mosquito bat.
