Jiyan's attacks constantly group enemies together so that should make him future proof for a bit. Venti was OP for like a year before they started adding more heavy enemies and then released Kazuha. Now imagine if Venti was also a main dps. There will always be places where AOE will be preferred so Jiyan should thrive for a bit.

Yes, but keep in mind this is not Mihoyo and Genshin Obviously characters will get old but it’s up for Kuro to keep them in my while they develop the game If they develop it the same Mihoyo did with Genshin, then these character will all be forgotten, full stop That’s why Honkai does way better, cause older characters (DPS and Supports) are still doing very good We need to stop assuming that Genshin is the standard and push these devs on the right direction

People constantly rank characters based solely on damage output. Danjin isnt overpowered, because she is a severe glass cannon, and few people will have the skill requirement or patience to play her after they face the harsh reality of "ez just dodge everything". All those videos you see of people clearing a boss with Danjin solo have tens of failed attempts behind them, and most people will want to win first time instead of making it a challenge like that.

@@mxkimxschxin I did pull him on his first banner (even though my gut feeling was telling me not to); instant regret after a week or so. I love him as a character in the story and his design, but just can't play him without getting bored.

I'm going for Jiyan, He's husbando material, I love dragons, and He's manly Adult Xiao , I main'd Xiao in Genshin back when Xiao first came out and still Simp over Xiao every time he shows up in the story . I know hell prolly be power crept eventually most of the early 5 stars and possibly 4 stars will be powercrept. But I hope to have fun with him while I can. still watched the vid thru ^.^ ty for the vid :D

@@otashu9176 yea true, its 3 teams of 3 vs Genshins 2 teams of 4 so 9 characters in WW and 8 in Genshin, although in Genshin you actually need more than that cuz elemental weaknesses or immunities etc :/ my main concern with 3 teams is theres literally only 2 healers in the game at launch lol

While understanding stats, strengths, and weaknesses is good as far as unit selection, character selection can mess with morale for some people if its totally ignored. I know I'm someone who's right in the middle. I always have to make sure I can physically play a character (I have cerebral palsy / paralysis in three fingers on my right hand) but I also recognize that if I'm playing characters I love I'm far more likely to consistently log in.

Having the first limited 5 star is satisfying. And it gives you bragging rights. Love his design 10/10

My thing is I don’t understand why people say Jiyan is a skip when you’ll need 3 teams for tower at some point… being a 5star DPS, by the time you’re trying to push I highly doubt that there will be 3 new 5* DPS units that outshine him in every way that are released. So he will always retain value in some way 100%. It just pains me to hear everyone say not to pull him because of the power creep that may or may not come sooner rather than later. 😕

It’s like saying, even though I have a Flip Phone,I don’t want to buy this version of iPhone because there’s going to be a new version that comes out (even though I don’t know when) that’s better it makes no sense lmao 😂 play the game for fun, for now. You may not even like the game in 6 months so why not play to enable yourself to enjoy it now people? If you’re saving from launch to “whenever” you won’t have many good units and your enjoyment will take a dive for sure.

Absolutely not the first dps will always gonna be worst in the future, but pull for anyone you want even 4 stars can beat the game so don't think about Meta, but if you not like jiyan soo much then he's definitely not a good pick we'll be getting a electro dps in 1.1 anyway

AFAIK it should cost 120 wishes total (40 on novice banner and 80 on standard) and we get 70 standard wishes from AR levels and mail. So if there are another 50 in the gameplay, we can get it first week. Otherwise it might cost primogems...err astrite if you don't want to wait.

I'm going Jiyan because dragon boys are my calling in gacha games it seems. I won my 50/50 in Zhongli and Neuvillette's banner and I got Bailu first then DHIL right after.

I am so excited to get Jiyan. He looks absolutely badass. Love manly men. I’m not worried about him getting powercreeped. I’ll play him anyway because he’s such a sick character. im saving 1.0 and going all in for 1.1

Calcharo and yinlin will work pretty well together. I want danjin and mortefi so I will do some pulls in jiyan banner. Since I have to save resources, I will invest in only few dps. Emerald Genesis sword is the best in slot for every sword dps, but there are good four star sword for supports. We're just at the beginning, in these games skill is more important than meta. For the 1.1 I think they tease the text color as the element. Changling could be Fusion (Fire) or Havoc (Dark I guess) and is the teacher for the other unit. Also the beginner banner the first 5 multi get discounted so it is up to 120 standard pulls. They did not confirm if you can switch the banner so if you can hold out the smart play might wait until you have the full 80 in case you get spooked.

Dajin is needed as a sup dps for havoc rover, since she marks enemies with 20% vulnarability debuffs as well as amplifies havoc dmg output with her outro (still can be built as a main dps, but you won't get super crazy numbers like with h. rover)

It's 40+80 pulls for the selector banner, and you get 76 pulls free for just playing around a week (from login + leveling) so just another 44 pulls to go. not counting the chest astroid and event astroid. 100% will only took around 1 week to get into that selector.

I want to main Mortefi, so I'll try get Jiyan and then try get Verina for the third with the standard. Sure, Jiyan will get powercrept, but 3, 6, 9 even 12 weeks is a long time. To that end, I'm not worried about power creep for the time being when the question of my commitment to the game remains to be answered.

If you do everything there’s a 25% chance you’ll get both (cause you have to win 2 50/50s). So unless you’re planning to spend, I would choose one and go for them.

even tho its not a guarantee for the particular 4 star u want, but if u dont get the featured 4 star weapon / character on ur 10 pull then the next 10 pull is guarantee to be one of the 3 featured 4 star imagine now when all 3 4 star have good cons

the best tip for pulling is just pull for whoever you like bc if you love a character there’s less of a chance you get tired of them if they “aren’t good enough” or are power creeped

It is worth pullung if I like to see a character's design on my screen 60% of the time. At the beginning of such a game, the thing is not to play only with the meta but around it so you bend it to fit your favorite...

Before picking Encore from the 5 star selector (Mostly because I like mage like characters gameplay and she is basically a Klee with actual good gameplay) I used Yuanwu as my main DPS, he is basically a 4 star Electro Arataki Itto and the 4 star fist weapon you get from the chest they give you is pretty much his Best in Slot until a 5 star fist weapon that gives defence appears

I got Taoqi on my first banner pull and just started cackling at the physics, it's another level from anything Hoyo has done. I don't know that she's any good but I wanna figure out how to make her work xD

I think Jiyan has a good pull-value just because of his insane AOE, very comfy pick in early floors of hazard zone and I don't think they'll introduce another DPS that has this big of an AOE in the future, at least for another year.

When it comes to the weapon banner unless I'm misunderstanding something here but it seems like weapon banners have their own currency called Forging Tides that isn't shared with the Limited Character currency so I'd argue it's safe to pull on a weapon banner until you star using your Asterite on it to get the weapon in terms of resource use.

assuming the 1.0 datamine leaks are true danjing got buffed along with rover. really liked the look of jinshi during the trailer so when they showed off the 1.0 characters and she was not on the list I was disappointed until we found out she would be on 1.1, also like the design of changli. from the standard banner encore for sure but wouldn't be disappointed if I got verina.

they do have 4* choice on 4* pitty in PGR, doesnt look like they will have it here.

The only question I have: In WW, there is an endgame where you simply can't get through without meta characters like in ToF, or, like in Genshin, you can get through with the characters you have, as long as they are well built and you know how to play? Because that's exactly why I stopped playing ToF. Without new/meta characters you simply can't do anything right without extreme difficulty/slowness.

I looked up HSR banners to remind myself why I shouldn't overpull on the first banner. Characters 6-8 are still very good in the current meta. 6-8. Characters 1-5 got all powercrept or became significantly less relevant.

I started with Calcharo, but really loved Jiyan's playstyle when I got to play him during the story, so I started over and rerolled for him. He's a lot of fun to play in just regular content, his grouping made everything more enjoyable for me compared to Calcharo who is basically ST only. I was actually doing better with Rover and Taoqi quick swapping than trying to play calcharo as a main dps. Taoqi is ranked pretty badly for tower, but shes a lot of fun and carried me far during the story and overworld especially with the defense claymore that you get for free after the inferno rider quest.

I still dont understand how the selector works but the moment i chose who i wanted i got him . Was i pretty lucky or was that normal?

There are two different 5-star selectors. a) The Beginner's Choice one he talks about in this video, where you use standard wishes and your pick will come within 80 wishes. b) The Giveback banner which occurred after this video, where you use the voucher you got through in-game to redeem instantly.

Debating saving for Jinhsi or just pulling now and see what happens. Supposedly Yinlin is really good with not-Sepheroth and tempted there as well.

The 4 best team comps in order of DPS in 1.0 are 1) Jiyan (w signature weapon) + Mortefi, 2) Encore + Sanhua, 3) Calcharo + Yinlin/Sanhua, 4) Rover + Sanhua/Danjin For me, since I already built my Rover and Danjin, and my other team is Jiyan and Mortefi, I would rather go with Encore + Sanhua as my 3rd team, because Encore does have higher DPS than Calcharo. Encore gets a bigger DPS buff from having Yinlin's weapon than Calcharo's DPS buff from replacing Sanhua with Yinlin. The primary benefit of Yinlin imo is freeing up your Sanhua to be used with Encore or Rover. On top of that, it is guaranteed weapon banner but the character banner has 50/50. I don't like Calcharo, because I feel like he is very clunky to play and requires a lot of investment. Also he was nerfed before launch, so Yinlin Calcharo isn't the best team in the game. Encore and Danjin are probably the most skill based characters in the game, but in my opinion, that is what makes this game fun. Jiyan is strong and requires no skill, but sometimes I want to enjoy the boss fights and the fights in the overworked.

I disagree on the weapon banner point. The first sword is absolutely insane, as far as I can tell it is the only crit dmg main stat sword and it has additional dmg % bonus. It is basically a mistsplitter... Combine that with the fact that we have at least 3 sword characters you want to build (MC Dangjin and the wind girl) Rest assured, this sword will always be used by someone to great effect. Skip is a mistake. 5 star weapon selector is only for the standard 5* weapons and they are all atk scalers. Basically worth only on support characters. The sword is crit rate though, so there is that I guess..

Jinhsi being the magistrate of Jinzhou is almost guranteed to be spectro. For one the roster has the least amount of characters for spectro but also she is the ruler of the region in which we are spectro rover. So my closest comparision would be that you can think of her as the archon of the first region. She is most likely going to be stupid powerful but since the game does not require that much raw power due to how skillful play is rewarded I will still go for waifu over meta and pulling on the same 5*s that you plan to pull on.

I'm surprised the MC Rover is so op tbh, her ult crits and she/he can shred easily with a good echo.

The main reason for everyone to pull for Jiyan is not that he's the 'top meta dps' and stuff but that he is complete husbabdo and daddy material 😋

i got jiyan and my selector 5 star both within one ten pull and now i got yuanwu c6 but lack any other four star xd Im so tempted to pull for mortefi but pulling for 4stars is kinda yikes ngl

Imagine if they give you Jiyan in the first Banner - cause they already know - that he will be strong for a very very long time. They gave you the chance to get him - and there will be a thirst for him throughout the game - that will grow. So people will ask for his rerun. Every Gacha is Calculated. I dont think, that Kuro Games is evil and will make every character that will be released - get stomped on in the next banner - because people will skip and skip and skip the next banner just to wait til it all evens out. Jiyan is your chance to prove my theory. I personally love his playstyle - how he can handle groups ... and with an Aero shielder in Team - he works wonders. Do as you please - play your game and enjoy any Character you love - this Game can be beat with any character if you build up the right way. Spread love ^,..,^

Time to win the 50-50 for Jiyan. Im slapping the moonlit echo set pretending he’s a sub dps and plying him like that once he is powercrept

One thing I hope this game does that you can do in Genshin is they have demos for the 5 stars so you can try them out before deciding if you want to pull for them. As for the game itself, I hope it comes out on PS consoles. If it comes out on PS5, it might be awhile before I get it since I still don't have that console (hence why I haven't gotten Honkai Star Rail yet). It's a money thing.

I just had to have Danjin based on her design and wasn’t really interested in Jiyan, of course I got him on my first 10 pull and didn’t get Danjin for about 50 more 😅 Jiyan is pretty fun, and Danjin’s gameplay did not disappoint, and I guess I built pity for the next banner 😂

Screw that! I'm getting yinlin a copy or 2 and her weapon 😂 a part of me is glad that she isn't the 1st banner so I had time to stock up! I'm rolling out the red carpet. Though like genshin when I first started I basically built them with cons first before I went for their weapons. Unless I really like the character (shenhe). I have to say what I like the most about the gacha is you basically ate guaranteed that character or weapon. It helps.

I am skipping Jiyan for Yinlin because I want to make a team with her and Calcharo. At first I didn't really like her design that much, but she really grew on me and I ended up loving it, especially the puppet motif and her pointy ears

By that logic, any DPS character in the future isn't worth pulling because of powercreeping. Pulling Jiyan and getting Jiyan will NEVER hinder the use of him, oh, a new DPS? nice, I have a new character to build teams that i can use ASIDE from Jiyan. Oh, a new DPS that deals 30% more damage than him? Its okay, I can still beat endgame content with Jiyan, Its not like the release of a new DPS will make Jiyan deal 0 damage. Astirite as any premium game currency is valuable, but spending them for ANY character will never ruin your game. Pull for whoever you like, even if a new character ever drops, you can ALWAYS play with Jiyan again if you ever miss him. This is suitable for ANY character, even supports not just Jiyan :))

I want encore and that puppet girl

I've been playing Danjin since she was one of the first 4 stars that I got. Then I kinda rushed the story to get Rover Havoc and use them together with Verina... Regardless, I still gave EVERYTHING I HAD to get Jiyan because I absolutely love his design 😅 and I also got Calcharo from the selector... Now I have three DPS and I completely refuse to get Yinlin because I just don't like her and I dislike her even more because people have been hyping her up lmao just like Xiangling in Genshin 😂 I'll see where I go from here. It's been really fun so far!

as a neuvilate main do you think jiyan was same easy and strong ?

In CBT2 he was pretty easy it’s essentially hold right click and he do damage it’s an ape around him and semi cone in front of him he was super fun to play imo as he has different ult activation when jumping or swapping post skill I think the jumping switch ult was the strongest ult activation.

@@YourPeakVerse calcharo was soooooo cool to play I’m bad adjacent so I struggle at first with his combos but once I got him even under built he was strong! I didn’t pull weapons as I wanted to test out all the characters Danjin escaped me 🥲
