WINNER debuted with double title tracks “EMPTY” and “COLOR RING”, that used to be a thing back in YGE where artists released 2 songs. BUT they stopped doing it because they felt it’s better to just focus on just ONE song as a title track. However, that really wasn’t a problem for WINNER when they debuted because their whole debut album actually placed in the music charts. Yes.. not only did their title tracks topped the charts, but so did their b-sides especially “Don’t Flirt”. This was why WINNER was called Monster Rookies and continued being called digital monsters due their music appealing to the general public. While they might not as huge/popular compared to other groups/artists internationally. They are super well known, respected, and popular in SKOREA/Asia. Even if WINNER was in a military service hiatus and only Mino and Yoon was super active in their solo activities.. WINNER was and still is gaining fans due to people re-discovering them through variety shows/collaborations/dramas/TikTok internationally now. Which is a good sign because WINNER really are so unique and have an amazing discography. I hope you check out more of their music because they really do surprise you every comeback and even in their albums. Some songs you think it was Yoon who composed it, but it’s actually Mino or Hoony. Some songs you think it’s Mino who composed it or Hoony, but it’s Yoon. That’s how versatile they are and experimental, they’re not afraid to try different genres. Each member has their own style music wise/fashion wise, but when they’re together they just make beautiful music and they’re always having fun. If you think their MVs look like a big ass party, they’re concerts is PARTY CENTRAL! They’re great with talking to the fans and making everything so personalized and special depending on what country they are at. Yoon is their English speaker/translator for the most part and he really does his best to include global fans. Omg their variety shows? Haha they are CHAOTIC AND A HOT MESS! I recommend all their albums and mini albums tbh! If you want to check out WOT5, then S/S 2014 aka their debut full album is the way to go. To hear what they sound like back then and with Taehyun. Oh and Taehyun is the original maknae/main vocalist, but he left WINNER and YGE due to mental health issues. He left in good terms and is doing well with his own band called SOUTH CLUB. So of course when Taehyun left, Yoon became the MAKNAE.. but he’s also the LEADER. Our dear precious hard working LEADER MAKNAE YOON who has to deal with the hectic and chaotic hyungs. 😂

THIS! Even though they're not super popular internationally, doesn't mean they're not successful. People need to understand that it's more important for the artists to be accepted by the SK's general public than intl fans. WINNER always gets invited to SK's music festivals and university music festivals (which is a big thing there) and they're one of the most requested artists to guest on variety shows! Even non-kpop listeners are WINNER fans!

winner's debut was a real game changer because they came out with double title tracks (Empty and Color Ring) that were both slow songs. all of their songs are chef's kiss because minyoon production is 🤌🏻 but i'd recommend their full-length albums, 2014 S/S, Everyd4y, and Remember 💙

​​@@aaroncross1801 Empty is NOT an iKON song, B.I. wrote it for them as a gift with the lyrics referring to having lost "Who is NEXT" and feeling empty for it, when YG chose it for the debut the meaning of the song changed completely to one of heartbreak, that's why Mino added their own lyrics for rap talking about heartbreak, EMPTY IS WINNER SONG!

Winner is such a distinct group. Not a typical kpop group you always see. When I first discovered them, I was surprised of how different they are. Very Westernized but still got a few kpop touch to their music. Their discography is amazing and even though they're not as huge as other groups internationally, they are a very well known group in their own country. Their debut song Empty is one of my favorite songs from them and it's composed by B.I!

Im not an inner circle, only a casual listener of theirs but FOOL is my fav song from them and one of my favorite song in general. The vocals in that song are just *chefs kiss

There is two side of YGfamily (black🖤+white🤍) Winner Akmu & Treasure is more like their 🤍side that their main vibes is not really like typical YG dark hiphop or heavy party vibes it is more colorful & chill but still have the YG Vibes. Bigbang, IKON, & Blackpink is their 🖤 side where their main style is the one most people known for YG artist (heavy hiphop, party, dark...etc)

@@tiannaryles1960 if u watch all YG MV u will see that all of them doing both like blackpink even tho they are on Blackside they also have like ice cream, aiiyl, stay & other b-side song whic is more into white side but blink called it their pink side, for ikon theiy also have many songs that are more into white side specially their b-side even their debut (my type) & the latest comeback is not Black side same as Bigbang & other YG artist like akmu+ Winner. For rock concept its been a YG tradition that they like to remix their songs into rock version specially if they have a concert all of the other artist also doing that since years ago.

You should check out their album Everyday! Their albums are where the gold is. Yoon, Mino, and Hoony wrote and composed all the songs in Everyday

Born to love you was written by Bang Yedam!! Akmu’s Chanhyuk and Winner Seungyoon co-wrote Wayo for Yedam so in return he gifted his song to his label mate Yoon. yg family best family

Also they have two 40-50 second duet videos on Treasure’s channel, it’s so interesting to me how differently they portray the song. The songwriter and the artist. Yedam’s voice is smooth, soft, angelic- the feeling it gives out is kinda like giving up, lost hope, but peace with the fact that his love has left vs Yoon who’s voice so powerful, rough, and raw sounding- gives off the expression that he’s not over it, he’s heartbroken, drowning and maybe a little angry at himself for it. Both equally beautiful in different ways. But so so so interesting. You don’t have to react to it but highly recommend o watch in your own time

Fans gave up on translating Mino's rap. It's too witty that you have to explain multiple contexts about multiple cultural concepts that it's impossible to translate completely.

Mino used to rap in deep voice back in 2016 below but since 2017 he used to rap in his real voice which i prefer that more :)

Well, Winner do not have bad songs! I have listened to other groups but I can just play & listen to ALL Winner albums and just continue whatever I am doing. Cleaning, cooking, studying, etc. No skip album. I do that all the time. They offer variety of genre and all sounds beautiful...

Yoooo their concerts are amazing. Most boy group concerts are a mass of fangirls but Winner is known as a hype group. Their latest Seoul Con I was jumping on floor with people my age and dudes. They're a performance group so you can always trust that Hoon will tell you to stand and Yoon is a power vocal and the whole hall gets to scream a pseudo swear with Mino. Also their university performances get insane crowds. Just look up this year some time.

remember was released before jinu and hoon's enlistment. the album and the song remember is like their send off as they enter a 2 yr hiatus as 4 to wait for the oldest to finish their enlistment which explains the "aesthetic, walk down memory lane" video and a song about pls remember me. pls try winner solos to here is my suggestion Mino - watch his killing verse lol , fiancee, trigger are my personal faves yoon - wild n young, it rains and wind (wind has no mv) but amazing hoon - Hoon hasnt released any solo album but does have solo songs Serenade & Flaminco Jinu - Call anytime & Dduk love winner they are worth it!

Because of Winner I started listening to kpop, its versatility caught my attention. Some of my favorites are Fool and So so (deep lyrics are another level)💙 Fact: the lyrics of Empty were written by B.I, Bobby, MINO and others.

Love Winner. Unfortunately they’re not that popular internationally, but huge domestically in South Korea. A b-side I recommend is “Don’t Flirt”. There are two versions, one with original 5 members and a remade 4 member version. Go with 4-version I guess cuz that’s the Winner of now. But yeah, this b-side because it’s pretty much a prerequisite to their tropical sound haha. It’s reggae heavy though so if you don’t like reggae, bail now.

my favorite winner song is ZOO if you can find a live performance of that one.. you're gonna have a fun time.

I remembered listening to Empty, just looking for some music on my laptop, I didn't even know it was Korean! Like listening to the intro and then copied it to my phone. Then when I listened again I was shocked it's Korean! and that was like in 2017 or 2018 and I only know 2ne1,GG and few 2nd gen. groups that time.

I don't know where he said that. But it's been a yg formula to have a low and high tone rapper, top and gd, which many other groups copied. So i thought mino was exaggerating top vibes but i guess he became comfortable as the group matured especially after smtm where he has found his own style that he could rap however he wants now
