You gotta remember, premier is heavily optimized for Intel as is the case with most other encoders out there. Handbrake and xvid4psp barely saturate amd cpus but absolutely hammer Intel cpus to near 100% right through. The fact that amd is matching or beating Intel with lower saturation and less optimisation support says how much more powerful ryzen is compared to Intel.

@@23nguyenthanhlong49 in many cases, it's actually intel optimizing things for them, rather than asking them to do it.. Intel's software department is massive, and they maintain lots of libraries that other applications can use free of charge. One example of this is a math library used by Matlab, where the software doesn't use all the capabilities of an AMD CPU even if the CPU supports them. It would use SSE instructions instead of AVX2 on AMD, even though the AMD processors support AVX2. On Intel, the software would always choose AVX2 or AVX512 if available. This is fixed now, but I'm not sure if it was the developers of matlab that went in and made a workaround, or of Intel themselves finally fixed the "bug" after people started noticing.

Micro ATX? Yes. ASRock's literally been doing that since Threadripper/x399 first launched in 2017 in fact (and ofc they're the only one's with either a mATX X399 or TRX40 motherboard). But ITX? Never going to happen. There's just no physical way to fit the sTRX4 socket, significantly sized TRX40 chip, AND the necessary VRM's & cooling for all of the above in a mITX form factor. It's simply impossible without getting rid of the chipset. (Which is what makes ASRock's ridiculously awesome mITX EPYC board possible. EPYC's 100% an SOC, it has/needs no separate chipset).

Jake and Linus are really rocking the phone communication parts of the video. It works well and the parts where one of them are speaking to the camera to give info, makes the viewer feel well included. You're definitely getting the best content out of the given world situation here.

Unfortunately, a lot of them still don’t have subtitles. And the one titled “Being an Early Adopter Sucks!” where he talks about burn-in problems on OLED displays has subtitles, but they’re massively off in timing 😡 And even though I’m a hearing guy with autism so I still use subtitles whenever possible, those issues w/ subtitles that are still ongoing make me rage

Same, and PewDiePie made that his title, but only like 1/14th was even the relevant to the title (receiving the creeper PC) Edit: 1. I thought video was 14 minutes, it was 27. 2. The part of Creeper PC was 124 seconds long out of 27 minutes. (or 1661 seconds in full) Here's the fun part though, it was literally 7.46% of the video length... before you cound 5 KZread ad spots in the video itself.

@@NoThrottle I have been leveraging the massive single-core performance benefits that using Intel chips provide me for several virtualization projects and workflows requiring VMs. Very recently, I switched to a custom rig (made it myself) with two independent PCs built into the single chassis - both using the 3700X. I paired cores from each CPU for a total of 8 VMs over the 2 systems (4 on each), with one core pulling the computation load and the second one in the pair maintaining parity. The performance is MUCH better when I was using 8 intel cores, one core per VM. If you can pair up Cores (especially easy with AMD already defining CCXs), it provides a fantastic performance benefit and an operation facelift when you don't have to assign a workload and wait for the machine to check for data parity before it can start the process. Now, the data parity checking is done all the time, parallel to the process.

An interesting observation. Of the many, many videos I watched, most refer to our current situation as "this thing going on" or something similar. Few would say it by name, be it COVID 19 or pandemic. And even fewer would dare mention corona virus or "Chinese Wuhan Virus from China that is the fault of China." I wonder why. Maybe there is some demonitization going on?

That intro reel break got me good. I seriously laughed at that.

Linus just feels natural with video that doesn’t seem that production was the focus of the video; but the knowledge/info was. The humor of the videos was something we grew up loving, enjoying, and his format of presenting it! It felt like we could do it! That is what we missed, but there was no right way to progress. With great company comes overall perspective and responsibilities we shall never understand.

I want yesterdays intro back Linus 😭😭

I'm a software developer, performance optimization is crazy hard unless you start with an obsession over every component's performance from day one. Trying to improve performance without introducing breaking changes on software as complicated as this is a massive undertaking. Adobe definitely has the money to spend on the people who can do it, but the encoding performance (or lack thereof) just isn't hurting their bottomline enough for them to hire these people.

@@pieterrossouw8596 I'm a software developer too but to me this seems like a corporate greedy behaviour. Kinda like what intel was doing when suddenly AMD caught up to them. As long is it's selling they won't bother much with these things

Devs: "improving software is hard". No being a first responder (fire, law enforcement, medical etc) or deep sea fisherman is hard, Making / Improving software is literally your job. If you don't like it I'm sure fate will find a way to make you happy selling double glazing.

The entire reason that the 3970X won was the SATA cable. It was too epic. The existing server and the 10980XE didn't have stylish enough SATA cables.
