Who is the Real Patron Saint of Scotland?

So if St Andrew was the Patron Saint of Scotland who is St Kessog? We have the Saltire, the St Andrew's cross, St Andrew's Societies and St Andrew's Day. So when was Scotland's patron saint decided and was he at the Battle of Bannockburn?
St Kessog is one of the forgotten people in Scotland's history.

Scotland History Tours is here for people who want to learn about Scottish history and get ideas for Scottish history tours. I try to make videos which tell you tales from Scotland's past and give you information about key dates in Scottish history and historical places to visit in Scotland. Not all videos are tales from Scotland's history, some of them are about men from Scotland's past or women from Scotland's past. Basically the people who made Scotland. From April 2020 onward I've tried to give ideas for historic days out in Scotland. Essentially these are days out in Scotland for adults who are interested in historical places to visit in Scotland.
As a Scottish history tour guide people ask: Help me plan a Scottish holiday, or help me plan a Scottish vacation of your from the US. So I've tried to give a bit of history, but some places of interest in Scotland as well.

Of course as an Irishman (with strong Scottish ancestry) I can tell you that St Patrick is a myth with no foundation in fact. In reality he never existed. He was first invented for political reasons in the 7th century - two hundred years after he was supposed to have existed. The global brand has also been maintained for political reasons.

Heritage relates to the word inherit and inheritance and typically refers to what one acquires from birth or when a certain age of maturity is reached, so for example, if you are from the USA, you inherit American citizenship by default and this is protected and emphasised in the American constitution that it cannot be taken or given away by you, it's also why you must be natively American born in order to run for the presidency of the USA etc.

It may have been the Latin church, and he was a Briton, but he converted the Southern Picts for a time. Monks served continuously at Whithorn until the 1600's.The church of Kirkmadrine near Sandhead on the Rhinns of Galloway has the burial stones of Latin priests or bishops dated to as early as 400 A.D.Thanks for your great videos.A McDowell of Freugh descendant, J.R.S.,Jr.,Esq., Alabama, U.S.A.

He’d probably never even heard of Scotland (or whatever it was called in the 1st century AD). It all seems a bit strange when you reflect on how many worthy saints with close Scottish connections didn’t get the job. Of course the same goes for England & Ireland. According to the Irish chronicles of the king's, the Picts arrived in Eire by sea to escape Roman incursion into their homeland. The Irish royalty were somewhat afeert o' these strange ta'kin folk and telt them o' an empty land across the watter that might suit their settlement. The Picts then crossed the sea to settle the northern Highlands of Caledonia. Their tongue may have been a form of Celtic, but the branch is not known. Strangely some of the surviving Pictish place names appear to be similar to Ukrainian place names. Just saying...🤔
