For me its Puppey. Maintain skill in highest level, both as player and as captain for 12 years is some crazy shit honestly. Its so sad he's not make it this year.

Puppey has to be there with 4 TI finals appearances with 1 TI title in the first TI and the longevity to attend TI1-TI11 is unparalleled and n0tail is the most accomplished in Valve-sanctioned tournaments (4 Valve major wins) and back-to-back TI wins certainly cements his place as one of the GOATs as well. n0tail has also won those majors either as carry/support so the flexibility to change roles while winning is god-tier level.

Puppy is definatly there as number 1 for me, the insane accomplishments and longevity of that man are just plain amazing.

Miracle is the undoubtedly the greatest raw talent we have seen so far, but the GOAT title has to go to N0tail because he succeeded where everyone else had failed. The perseverance the guy had was amazing. Its insane how he never lost hope. All the people he depended on deserted him and right when he was on the edge, he did the impossible. OG's 2x back to back TI victory is one of the best examples of the quote "Anything is possible".

miracle just pure talent and the best player who has touch dota at the peak no one beat miracle in individual skill but sadly dota is a team game you can't just win only with mechanical skill alone

Miracle is GOAT simply because many pro players regard him as that.

For me it is pure of passion and mentally healthy ana. Dude isn't the best farmer like RTZ or Ame, doesn't have the longevity that Puppey and Kuro had, doesn't have the leadership of Ceb or beat the career earnings of N0tail, doesn't have Dendi's continued passion, Miracle's genius or Sumail's confidence. However peak ana's decision making is way above most Pos 1 players. He is confident when needed(during clutch) and best of all, in game adjustments that NOBODY is on par with.

As time passes opinions become subjective, but for me Jerax was the goat during his prime. The guy was soo fucking intelligent some subtle 200 IQ plays and calls of his won OG 2 TI's. All 5 players stacked into a heavenly synergy that produced the best Dota we've ever seen, but Jerax imo was the key element to all that magic by a long shot he made it all work. Edit: Okay actually speaking of Goats its more like Puppey. What I meant about Jerax is he was the Goat of OG and the best player in Dota at the time. Miracle had his run as the absolute top player too so can't miss to mention him. Ceb and Notail were really important to maintain the team dynamic and positivity and motivation going, but in terms of sheer gameplay Jerax was the one making a lot of important in game calls and moves that ultimately nobody saw coming. Other than that little miss imo your list is pretty damn on point.

Puppey/notail = longevity and success. Kuro and xiao8 slightly behind. Miracle/Sumail have high peak in their prime but puppey/notail have way longer longevity and consistancy. People often forget Notail won 4 or 5 majors as a carry and won 2 ti as a support. Notail on illusion carries(PL, Naga, TB and Alche) was a monster.

Also holding the record of playing all 123 heroes in captains mode. #7 on esportsearnings with 5.8mil, he's washed now but his dota career is absolutely one of the top few

Puppey is my GOAT. Co-Founded his own team, been in the scene since the first TI, dont forget that he’s a mastermind of a captain. People mention carries or midlaners like Miracle but Puppey comes up with the plans and pick the heroes the team needs. IMO Puppey is the goat because of the way he thinks

Puppey...every Dota,dota 2 titles..he has it..WESC,TI,MDL,MLG,ESL,Starladders,Summit,Majors,Minors,..every tournament titles he has it..from Navi to every Secret line up..hes up there.

People like to say OG because they won TI twice, but TI is not the only Dota tournament that matters. The prize pool does not make the tournament, and that especially held true before OG was a thing. Players had to scratch and claw to win 5 digit cash and tournaments like Dreamhack, StarLadder, ESL One, etc. were the big tournaments up to now. Puppey has won a shit ton of tournaments, placed 2nd at TI THRICE, and has remained relevant in the scene since before Dota 2. Not one season (except this one) did we not give a crap about Puppey Na'Vi or Team Secret. N0tail also makes a contention because of his versatility, not just because he won TI twice. Dude won 4 Majors as a carry and 2 TIs as a support. Maybe not as consistent as Puppey but definitely there for being a god in the micro and macro game.

Nobody's gameplay boasted more innovation and mastery than Miracle. Everyone else is great and legendary and all but Miracle took the game to heights no one thought could be possible during his reign. No one touched the game like him.

In terms of accomplishments, it's Notail. Based on overall career and relevance it's Puppey. Based on playmaking and gamesense within their role, I'd probably say Jerax, but there are many you could name.

I get that longevity is hard to maintain especially in esports. but 2 TI's back to back and 4 majors? thats really hard to argue with. and if there is analytics guys out there, how dominant was puppey during his years playing vs him just being the shot caller of a very good team.

Miracle was like the Ronaldinho of Dota. Pure talent. He achieved a lot in a short time. You were mesmerized watching his art. Even though Miracle is behind in terms of success compared to the others, his talent and art are indisputably the best.

Notail’s top 1 earning is hard to argue against, after all that is what every pro player is playing for, if there was no money involve there would be no “pro”. Puppey longevity means he is able to generate income for a decade playing the game at the highest level, very hard to argue against when we talk about goats. Miracle- His plays make you to wow and experience a positive emotion just watching the game, his highlight reel makes you want to just load up dota 2 and play, there’s no other player that can give you as much emotion as Miracle. He also backed up his flashy game play with 2 major wins as soon as he joined the pro scene and capping it off with a TI win playing carry even though his main role is mid. The only player to solo rampage a whole freaking team and make the enemy tap out GG in a freaking pro match. The fact that his nick name was given to him by his peers speaks volume, he didn’t choose the name Miracle, he used it because his first group of dota friends and foes kept calling him that because how insanely talented he is. With both flashy game plays and big tournament wins to back up, it’s very hard to argue against him. Very hard to pick between these 3 but for me it has to be Miracle due to how well rounded he is between godly game play and major tournament wins including TI.

It all comes down to if you value achievements (notail) or longevity (Puppey). I personally value longevity more, so I think its Puppey

As soon as I saw the title, my first thoughts were instantly Puppey and Ceb and I’m so glad both of them are on this list. Miracle was the most dominating player during his time but his achievements are not as wide compared to the other 4 especially since he stopped playing competitively so early in his career.

Nobody can know how great wings could have been after outclassing everyone else by a couple of classes at ti6, as many, who saw, know. Their versatility, seemingly effortlessly, demolishing all others with whatever they chose. Alas, I heard they were restricted by... Let's say their league...? Puppy i think he is Pro player since dota 1 and until now still in good shape, but i choose Miracle, believe it or not there are so many player inspired to Miracle game

I would posit that the one player that has always impressed me with their performance regardless of how team was doing or what the meta was, it would have to be FY.

It’s notail for me. One of the 5 to win two TIs. Won many majors. And Is the reason I started playing. Also Ceb is why I love the game.

Many players will come and go. Records will be repeated and surpassed. But the pure bliss of OG's cinderalla story from TI8 to the repeat beatdown at TI9 was the peak of Dota's pro circuit and the international. Not in my own words but from some random guy on the internet, "Ana's return, Ceb's redemption as a player, Notail's story, Jerax's loyalty to his falling team and Topson proving himself as more than a pub star". There will never be a better story written in Esports let alone in just Dota 2. That, for me, was the peak of Dota 2.

It's clear it has to be either notail or puppey. But with puppey having a lot of negativity surrounding him (strange contracts at secret / monitor smashes /etc.) it has to be notail. The way he and the rest of OG showed the world that dota is not only a mechanical game but also a mental team game was amazing. "The power of friendship everyone"

CEb is an amazing player, but N0tail in general fits that role better, it was a HUGE surprise to not see Ana in here, the one considered by the community as the GOD of DOTA.

Well tbh GOAT can be alot of people , Puppey has insane longetivity , miracle prime had like thousands of highlights that no one has replicated in last 6 years , dude was so insane that other pros had no idea if they had advantage on him during ganks/duels . . .then we have notail who is not as mechanically skilled but he know what wins the game, and then we have yatoro who is undoubtedly one of the best carrt out there with ame and fy being regarded as god of pos4. . . .imo theres simply isnt 1 goat but like top 5 best players in each role because dota has so many ways to win
