Always thought of Ares as a mishmash between Thor, Wolverine, and Punisher, but with a sense of humor. He wears sunglasses indoors, he drinks canned bear while shooting a Gatling gun, he rides a nuke while holding an ax, he gives a speech in front of an American flag about how insane he is, etc. He just goes along with the absurdity. Really awesome character.

Yeah,I love how Marvel uses real world mythologies to incorporate into their stories,as well! One of the few issues I have with it is that when companies like Marvel,DC and Disney use characters from mythology,folklore and legend,people can tend to forget or ACT like they forget that these characters are in fact,in the public domain and that anyone can use them however they want to! I've actually heard people claim that Marvel CREATED and OWNS Thor! Which obviously,couldn't be further from the truth. Marvel created and owns their own specific version of Thor(just like they do Hercules and any other character from myth,legend and folklore)but the Norse myths and legends were around before America was discovered,never mind before the medium of comic books even existed.Marvel doesn't own the mythological Thor and they sure as hell didn't create him. That's why when I write my comics on Thor and Hercules,I'm not even going to call them that and neither Thor or Hercules will be on the covers of my graphic novels-as to avoid confusion and comparison with the Marvel versions. I love the Marvel versions of these mythological characters but I think that a lot of people who are writers and artists are also afraid to use the characters because of the popular interpretations of the characters by companies like Disney,Marvel and DC. No matter what you do with the characters,inevitably your work will be compared to Marvel's version of the characters.So I see that as one of the few downsides of Marvel using these characters.

Odd thing is, Marvel's Ares has always been inconsistent yet he's almost everywhere too lol. Nice new intro btw.

Ares is another favorite of mine and this is the best representation of him and I agree, the fact that you take time to reply to your fans says alot about your character. Good job 👍💪

I agree as well! This is Ares after all. His abilities dwarfs some of the other Olympians with the exception of his father Zeus and half brother Hercules, whose super strength is greater than his.

That was so cool!! I got into Mythology, all kinds in elementary school libraries so I knew about them before comics. I always loved mythology,too! I loved reading about mythology from the libraries in elementary school,middle school and high school and I'm a life-long comic book fan so I loved reading about mythological characters in comics,too! I'm even going to be writing my own comics in the future and I'm going to be writing graphic novels on Hercules and Thor(but the comics won't be called that and they won't be on the covers of the comics because I want to avoid confusion and comparisons to all of the other versions of Hercules and Thor that are out there and I definitely don't want my versions of them to be confused with the Marvel versions of the characters). Ares will be in the comic I'm doing on Hercules but my version of Ares will be a mix between how Ares looks in the DC Universe and to how an artist on Deviantart.com portrayed him as this really tall,hulking,monstrous armored,heavily armed warrior. One of the great things about these mythological characters is that they're all in the public domain and people are free to use them however they see fit! Of course,people just have to make sure that their versions of the characters don't look like copyrighted,trademarked specific versions of the characters.So my version of Thor won't have blonde hair and my version of Hercules won't look anything like the Marvel version(but he will still be based on the Steve Reeves Hercules movie like the Marvel version was). Great video by New Sage! I enjoy watching his channel!

Great video. This one of the times where i like myth Ares more than comic Ares. My favorite story of Ares was him killing his daughter's rapist. Making him a better father than Zeus.

during dark reign he was the best character in marvel. he choose war machine as his mortal sword/ champion. rhodey didnt ask to be but ares told him it wasn't his choice. he defended rhodey against normon osborn during dark reign when warmachine was arrestedfor violated the superhero registration act. ares told osborn that is the trial was unfair or fixed he would kill him. and he went to the trail every day to sit behind rhodey and make sure it was a fair trial. he really tried being a better god

It's fucked up how Ares was manipulated into laying siege to Asgard by Osborne. He would've killed Osborne had not Sentry stopped him. I believe Ares thought Sentry to be his ally, he might not have been actually trying to fight Sentry. It sucks how he's known for being ripped in half by Sentry. I'm glad he was resurrected. Great video!

Ares was my dad's favorite marvel character and he used to tell me he was like Thor but more gung ho and laid back at times.

I propose to do the same issue about Tyr, the Scandinavian god of war of the мarvel comics version. He is unfortunately not as famous as Ares, but he definitely deserves attention.
