I used to have a life size Flat Eric plushie, I literally found him sitting on top of a dumpster in an alley. He sat proudly on top of my bookshelf for many years. He left at some point and we lost contact, but I still think about him often. I hope he is out there somewhere living his best life.

Flat Eric has made multiple appearances since the 90s, most notably the cover art for Lambs Anger in 2008, the short film "Being Flat" in 2015, and the cover of Rythme Plat in 2019

Loved Flat Eric back in the 90s. I always had the idea of it going further. Id make a great personage in a movie. I miss his furryness on tv

I bought a Flat Eric plush on a whim at a souvenir stand in Pisa back in the summer of 2000 while studying abroad. I've seen him and the videos online before the trip and thought it would be a fun buy. Brought it back to the States only to find out it was a knock off version. 😒 It's still sitting proudly on display on my living room shelf to this day, however. 😃

When my aunt went on a trip to France when he was huge she managed to get me a Dennis The Menace Toy not the American version of Dennis the Menace, and Flat Eric still got mine in storage i always see him little beady eyes looking at me every time i see him in the bin with my other plushies i collect. He and Mighty Mouse are just chillin and exchanging beats with the other stuff animals i own lol.

Even if "Eric" is a casual English name, it's also a casual French name too, jut like "Paul" or "Joseph"... And Mr Oizo is pronounced "wa-zo" (oiseau is French for bird).

As I sit in my lounge watching this, to my right is Eric, watching the TV with me. I bought him brand new from the Levis shop in Brighton when he was at his most popular about two decades ago. He is a member of the family, and he’s never leaving, unless he wants to, of course!

My uncle bought me the little one and the bigger version in 2003 when he was in US air force. Greetings from Slovenia🇸🇮

I met Flat Eric thanks to a Spanish youtuber/streamer called Vicio One More Time, he mostly features his two Flat Erics in the background of his streams, and he also uses him as sort of a mascot for his band

I mostly know flat eric from a KZreadr I watch which has 2 flat eric puppets. Today I searched him and holy crap one of his puppets is expensive as hell (480 dollars on my country)

Flat Eric takes me back, lol I'm so old😂

It's pronounced "wazo" oi in French sounds wa. Oizo is a "misspelling" of oiseau. (bird) the way you said it was very surprising for the frog eater I am. not to mention he inspired all the French touch dj's we had from Daft Punk to Justice via SebastiAn or Laurent Garnier. Dupieux is the godfather of all still today.

Flat eric also appeared as a contestant in mashup week

I have about 20+ flat Eric's they all have their own names and they are very much part of my everyday life 🤍 I'm 30 but got them all when I was around 6 years old, I love them

Being from Canada, it would appear that we've got here is an Anglo-French cultural icon that never crossed the pond. Being born in Montréal, the..."vrai fromage" aesthetic about Flat Eric strikes me as Gorf to the core. Despite not having lived in Québec for over 40 years now, I was immediately struck by the unmistakable low-budget corniness & "je ne sais quoi" French (which is FAR less sophisticated than even Québecois humour!) sense of humourless humour that's stamped all over these no-budget Stephane/Plat Eric skits. It's like he's an "in" joke that was outed a long time ago; what's more perverse than brushing the dust off a best-forgotten wannabe Muppette & making an "out" joke "in" again?🤪 Yet... he's strangely loveable. Even if we never knew WTF he was here in North America. And never will.

I remember the name and the image of him slapping the door.. .. but everything else was just a blank,.

I had no idea who Flat Eric was when this wierd yellow monkey showed up in a store. It was cheap and had real toddler shoes. I'm happy to say that both My children wore those shoes! Years later I saw the videos ...thank you Flat Eric!

You are correct, made this video a while ago and there was a slip up with the pronunciation.

He is pronounced like Whaaaa Zoo, not Oizo))))
