Just looking at them they used to be so cheap. Just like the 240SX before the issue of sport compact car in 99 2000 or so. I remember those going for nothing then blam 2500 minimum. Almost traded a truck for one back then.

@@rualert1602 86,000 miles and only thing it's ever really needed is a new sensor as it got clogged (diesel). Had 2 before that and both have been pretty reliable, never any quality issues. Sounds like you got a "Friday night" job.

What that means is the pro drove the car as fast as it could possibly go and the boys came close to that cars max. Now switch it for a much faster car and I would bet the difference will be quite a bit more. No knock on the boys though...I'd add a good 10seconds to that time.

True. But 1.3 seconds a lap on a 65 second track is a lifetime in a race. Plus no doubt the boys know that track better. You wouldve thought a pro fwd race driver like a BTCC or WTCC would be 4% a lap quicker. So 2.4s

@@somenutjob Still, pro driver against just some guys that have fun in their cars, not that bad! I was thinking he would get the 1.05 mark, I was surprised when he got the 1.06. They aren't half bad for being just some fun dudes that mod cars! Better than a lot of modders that never touch the race grounds.

The Yaris didn't even last as long as the dream about Marty owning the Evo.

This is something I learned from my last 2 years of participating in motorsport events like autox and track days. Everyone's cars behaves and handles differently and driven different ways, which will also affect the typical racing line.

That was awesome. Cool to see a professional get out and just have some fun. Impressive improvement with the better tires/wheels too. I was hoping you'd do more to the Yaris, breaks, turbo, lightening, just for the fun of it. I want to see you guys grab an old Honda Civic from the 70's and do it up.

Love how Chas is all smiles but as soon as he's off the line the race face is on. Pretty respectable times, 1-2 seconds off a pro driver.

1.5s off a pro, is amazing, you should feel proud. Though I am surprised that as a pro he didn't heel and toe when downshifting. He's also shifting without lifting, which account for some of the time shaved, but is really bad for the clutch/transmission.

this video just shows how much a second is on a track like this in a (super fast yaris) slow car! amazing comparison guys :)

If you want to know the origins of NASCAR and some great American car history check out the movie Lawless with Tom Hardy, Shila, etc... its worth your couple hours.

Alot can be learnt from watching Chaz's eyes. Alot of people could drive alot faster by just using their eyes better.

You guys had the track down pretty well. I'm no professional. Hell, I'm hardly a good a driver but listening to the engine, I'd say the only thing that was slowing you down was the improper downshifting. I think Marty was a little bit early on the up-shifting as well. I think being within 1 to 2 seconds of a professional driver is freaking amazing.

Can totally back them up, I bought an XR6 off my dads mate back in 2013, he had cheap, Chinese tyres on it all round and it was terrifying to drive in the wet. I bought a set of RE003’s after watching these guys, not only had the grip in the wet home insanely better, the car even rides nicer now, no where near as jarring when going over bumps. Also got a wicked deal on them 😂 the Bridgestone store I bought them at had them on sale, as well as a buy 3 get the fourth free deal 😂

His explanation of the racing line has to be hands down the best way to say it. There is no right line you gotta let the car flow.
