The WHO core components of infection prevention and control (IPC) at the national and acute health care facility levels are intended to support Member States in developing and implementing IPC interventions to prevent current and future infectious disease threats, strengthen health service resilience, combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and improve the overall quality of health care delivery.
