We continue this series by taking a look at our first ACLS algorithm, the cardiac arrest algorithm. This is the one that you will probably use most often and arguably the most important one. It will be imperative that you know this algorithm and be able to act quickly on the American Heart Association's (AHA) simplified approach to this emergency situation. While this is no replacement for certification, the hope is to provide a good resource for learning either before class, or in the 2 years in-between certification.
**Full disclosure that this video is NOT associated with the American Heart Association (AHA) and is merely a review of the information provided in their guidelines. Additional resources can be found at: cpr.heart.org/en/resuscitatio...

You are a life saver bro! This breakdown makes learning so much fater and relatable. Your walkthrough at the end put the cherry on top!
Awesome video! I will definitely be watching this a few more times. I really enjoyed going through the scenario at the end. I am a new grad starting a job as an RN in the ED soon and this is very helpful. Also, I literally laughed out loud when you said “The patient is not getting any deader. We want to slam this medication.”
I watched this video ahead from my ASCL session next week, and really loved it! Your explanation is so organised which make it a lot easier to digest and memorise, and the last scenario was a bomb, such a useful and brilliant practice to see if i understood the cycle properly :) Thank you, Thank you!
I just experienced two cardiac arrests in three days and was brought back after one shock and one 2m CPR from each, im told. I don't remember much about them so I really enjoyed this video, thank you. Now i know what they actually did to bring me back.
New grad RN here. Thank you soooo much for this video! This was always so confusing to me during nursing school and now that I have to get my ACLS for my first job I feel so confident after watching your video. I really enjoyed the mini scenario too!!
I’m a new nurse for the ER and this video helped me critically think through my work sim!! Thank you!!
Appreciated the scenarios and codes! I have been out of bedside for 5 years and I have been nervous about my upcoming ACLS certification. These videos make it so much easier to understand! Thank you and I cracked up when patient is getting any deader! ha!
Studying for my ACLS exam and will graduate nursing end of this year. Your teaching methodology is extremely helpful.
I'm a nursing student and we have a Code Blue simulation this semester... This has been the best video over ACLS for Cardiac Arrest thus far! Thank you so much for this video!
I've been a med surg nurse for 5 years and have recently gone to critical care and I am doing my first ACLS certification. I really appreciate your videos. You walk through everything nicely so that I can stamp it in my brain. It has already proved helpful in codes I've been in recently. Thanks!

Wanted to say thanks a million for your videos! I'm a dentist that (very annoyingly) has to take ACLS every 2 years to keep my enteral sedation licensing, even though I never use an ECG or have any of the ACLS related medications. In short, I never use ACLS and have to re-learn it every 2 years. The test was a breeze last weekend thanks to you. Watched all your videos twice and skimmed through the manual real quick, and I felt comfortable day of the test!
Hi Eddie! I hope you’re doing okay! Well, I just want to thank you for all these videos on acls, I just passed my certification today and I must say that what you’re doing is way much better and informative than the regular CEU topics. I learned and still learning a lot from all your videos. I cannot say enough for a job well done! Thank you for being part of our journey as nurses! God bless you and your team!

Great video and review for ACLS! One note is that the first rhythm you display at 13:30 looks to me like polymorphic Vtach that could even be Torsades de pointes in the right scenario. Doesn’t matter if the patient is pulseless as you would shock anyway, but would also give some magnesium, especially if the patient still has a pulse/is venturing from stable to unstable. Great content and thank you for your videos!
