I think a good category for this series would be a five man rotation for strikeouts but you have to take one from each team in the division.

Maybe 2-3 relievers and a closer too would be cool lol

I like this idea, I've also suggested on every one of these videos that it would be hilarious to do lineups based on strikeouts. Find guys that had 200K seasons

I like this a lot. That tickles the baseball tism for sure
An obvious pick for the next category would be pitcher strikeouts, but I'd love to see batter hits or pitcher walks

Batter hits would be fun too, after pitcher strikeouts
You could also do this exact same thing but with players from ONLY BEFORE 2000. That would be fun
I'm a little sad Victor Martinez wasn't mentioned. He played with multiple central teams and was a monster at the plate

Problem is you'd be taking him as a 1B or DH. His best catcher season for HRs was 2007 at 25, he was only very occasionally a backstop after 2010 when he hit his two best years.
Absolutely love this series! I also kind of miss seeing Lucas take part just to see how dominant he would be 😂 can't wait for the pitcher variation of this
They named almost every 2019 Twin except for Mitch Garver who had 31 homers

God howd i miss that? I immediately went to Mauer 09 for Catchers. He only had 28.
I'd love for this series to continue and for them to go through all 30 teams, but expand it to before 2000 to give them more flexibility, it would be hilarious to watch them try to guess years for each team, especially years before 2000, comedy and education with that hahaha.

Or do one where they each pick a player from each team in either the AL or NL so not a full team just most possible homeruns.
This vids are my favorite YT series right now, a good category would be batting average and the best team average at the end wins.
Victor martinez had a lot of good years in the central, hope this series continues
I LOVE THIS SERIES, I would draft last and play along, my favorite trivia type series you guys have ever done, literally so incredibly fun. Maybe next one is just a five man rotation drafting for strikeouts. Or possibly a hits draft idk this is really really fun though
No suggestion, Lucas, just want to say I think you're a compelling on-screen character and a great guy (in addition to being freaky knowledgeable). Lucas for president!
Best series you do currently. Love it.
So many ways this series can go: 1) same setup as now but do different hitter stats (RBI, hits, steals, etc) 2) keep doing home runs but from before 2000 (maybe go by decade?) 3) do pitcher stats from 2000(most wins, strikeouts, home runs given up, etc)
You guys are crazy for knowing this stuff haha, love these vids! Definitely want to see more iterations of this style!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Couldn’t wait for the AL central one!!!
This was a really good group performance from the guys with a tough division. Glad someone said the big hurt eventually
Yeah this is a fun series, hopefully you guys can come up with something similar, will be watching
Great video please don’t stop thee ones just love them great job guys
I would keep this up with different categories: RBIs,Hits,WAR,etc. then move to pitchers: Wins,Ks,ERA+,etc. World Series Special is best overall team using all these stats together.
love this series! i think a fun category would be a homer draft of players that played for the Yankees, with the caveat that you can’t use any of their Yankee years. (:
these are my fav trivia you guys do
For hitters, I'd do hits, RBIs, and WAR. Or you could do HRs again but only before 2000. For pitchers, you could do Ks, wins, IP could also be a sneaky fun one. If you do a rotation of pitchers, need to do one from each team in the division though. I also think going forward, CF should be a required position and then 2 corner OF (just like with All JM team).
I LOVE THIS!!!
Shoulda went 19 Garver for catcher, and Polanco only played SS in 19 as well
biggest fan of the channel. may or may not know more ball then max manis but still so much respect. LFGM
The disrespect for Mitch Garver the Pitch Carver getting all those balls out in '19
By far my favorite vids
You guys should build a rotation and or bullpen based on a pitcher’s era strikeouts or some pitcher stat like what u r doing with the hitters.
Strikeouts, steals, walks, maybe something as specific as singles. Those would all be good and would be a nice way to keep this series going.
Just wanted to throw out there Jorge Polanco played 0 games at second base in 2019
Keep up the great content.
Do a batting average category and take the average of the whole lineup to determine the winner
2016 Brian Dozier and 2019 Nelson Cruz made my heart happy. ETA: love the background choice 🥰 even when blurry she’s a beauty.
I was screaming Jim Thome
Love love these videos
A cool and tricky category would be most HR by players who were traded mid-season. Would get combined total for the season, but have to get the year correct.
love this series! Sp wins would be really hard
Love these videos
Lucas is so smart and handsome and should do a strikeout draft with like 5 starters and 4 relievers or something
You should do teams, any year. So each player picks a team from the same league, then must pick players who only played on that team, same concept of having to decide the year. Dream Teams from the same ballclub
my lineup C 2009 Joe Mauer - 28 1B 2006 Justin Morneau - 34 2B 2021 Johanthan Schoop -22 3B 2017 Mike Moustakas - 38 SS 2004 Jose Valentin - 30 OF 2008 Grady Sizemore - 33 OF 2012 Josh Willingham - 35 OF 2006 Tori Hunter - 31 DH 2017 Edwin Encarnacion - 38 total 290 1st Place
Diggin’ the haircut Jolly, looking fresh bro!
Love this series. Maybe RBI or hits should be next on the docket?
some ideas I kinda thought about for future series: Most Walks, Pitchers with most strikeouts (you could do 5 starters 3 relievers and 1 closer), and most hits.
2 video series. Do an NL video and an AL video just guessing the best record by year for each team. See who can come up with the highest win total overall. I think the 2000-2023 timeline would still be best there
I think a fun category for this series would be the same thing but most steals. Setup the same way, division for each video, pick position players by year.
I was screaming Mitch Garver bomba squad. Y’all got like everyone else 😂
Once divisions are done, an AL pre-2000 and NL pre-2000 vid would be fun.
Pitcher strikeouts in the natural choice. Saves could also make for some wicked pulls.
A fun category would be teams that do not have blue jerseys. Another interesting idea would be to use a wheel to pick 10 random teams and each player can only pick from each team once. This would mean each player would be required to pick from all 10 teams. Another fun category would be the 5 teams with the least number of home runs since 2000. A good category would be teams with two words in their location name. The Los Angeles Angels qualify. Another good category would be teams named after their state. The Florida Marlins would qualify only for years before 2012 when they become the Miami Marlins. The 2 New York teams would qualify too.
Doubles! Do doubles. Kauffman and Comerica are huge. Plenty of good doubles seasons.
Suggestions for future categories: Starting pitchers by division w/ the most wins in a given year (five man rotation w/ highest total wins); best nine-man lineup with highest career home run totals of players NOT in the Hall of Fame; run this HR competition back, but do it from 1969-1993 (when there were just East and West Divisions); a similar HR competition like this, but every person selected has to have been a Trevor Plouffe or Ian Happ teammate at some point during their careers.
Here's a homer draft idea: After someone picks a player, they pick the team that the next person has to pick from (and then some sort of balance like a player can't say the same team twice) So like, the game starts, and the host picks a team, say Red Sox. The person who goes first picks David Ortiz and a year, and then picks the team player 2 has to pick from
Was waiting for a Carlos Quentin pull after Konerko was said
I like the high fiving like you did something when you named the wrong year for most of those players
Jolly looking FRESH
Nice haircut Jolly looking fresh 😎
Hits, walks, strikeouts would all be fun, but OPS+ could be a tricky one too
Since Prince Fielder 06 was the first person that came to mind it almost gave me an aneurism never hearing them mention him
Jolly the haircut is looking great man!
Really hoping to see batter Ks, I want to see these guys name some monster whiff years. Dredge up some names nobody has heard in a decade. Would lead to some pretty wild scores!
You should do a steals draft! Love the content!
Lots of good pitcher ideas but if you want to do more homers, I’d like to see: - Hall of Famers only (could be season or career) - Playoff or World Series homers - Derby homers (this would be wild) - homers allowed (pitchers, by division)
Mannnn Victor Martinez at C was such a layup for almost any year… but I’m so happy Jake Rogers got used 😂
Hell yeah, Al central finally
You should do best homers by certain countries, only likely a few possible but still could make a couple videos out of it
Have you done this for pitching side? Like, create the best 5-man rotation + closer by division. See who gets the most wins/saves total or strikeouts to keep it consistent
Would love to see this same but with just hits in general.
Would love to see this again with lineups of speedsters - most stolen bases. Or most total bases for the OPS kings.
Doing pitcher wins would bring out some fun names without any crazy high calculations at the end. Every guy names 10 pitchers from the respective division.
You guys should do this with hits, rbis, and BA and just average out all the picks for BA and also a starting rotation and do wins, Ks, and Era.
Batter strikeouts would be a lot of fun!
the intro to this was done full jolly olive haircut in between, hahah
A great idea would be best Pitching Rotation by ERA in each division. 5 Starting pitchers, 4 relievers, 1 closer, and try to get the best ERA.
Let's go Al Central!! I hope someone takes Thome.
2021 Salvy! 48 bombs!
What about doing a pitching rotation based of wins (strikeouts as someone else mentioned would be good too).
You can do something with most RBIs, K, BBs, and SBs.Build the lineup with the highest batting averages.
he did it, he did it
2006 Joe Mauer 28, 2019 Mitch Garver 31 Catcher
12 HR in 34 games is a solid average, I would not be disappointed about that.
Hits or RBIs for hitters and Wins or strikeouts for pitchers would be cool
dalton choking the salvy start is crazy
Triples or stolen bases would be very fun, especially when having to pick a catcher or DH
good crew
The way I was screaming Mitch Garver in 19 as a choice.
Build a whole starting team from division. 4 SP, 1 MR, 1 CL, 8 skill/1DH. Most WAR for the seasons picked wins.
I think BBs and SBs could be fun and interesting categories
I think stolen bases is the next logical step. It would particularly fun to see them try to guess which catchers have the most SBs. Total shot in the dark
8:12 Jake's draft picks in order are pretty good, what's he talking about?! Lol
You guys should do it again but for the total number of hits across a 9 man lineup. That would open it up for non- power hitters to get in
Jolly haircut lookin cleannn
Lucas: I hope your phone charger stops working. Also lots of fun categories. Hit leaders, SB leaders, Ks (but would need a new board), RBIs. I think WAR would be fun, or just change the era to pre-2000 and do the current divisions again
Jolly had a great first half draft.
Go by decades next!
Lucas - maybe the next version of this game can be the same, but with no year parameter... It should be a good test of the JM baseball history knowledge
Do one video where you can pick any player from any season in history for a starting 9. All divisions open. And then move on to pitching strikeouts by division
Was hoping for somebody to take a shot on Mauers only good hr year when he hit 28 in ‘09.
I have a few ideas: -HR draft All-Star edition: They must list players but the only eligible years are ones they made an all star team -HR draft year edition: only a specific year, or range of years, is/are in play -Doubles draft: same format as this, but doubles instead of homers -SB draft: same as this, but stolen bases instead of homers
Jolly and Jake fumbled the Catcher position. 2019 Garver had 31HR for the Twins
