I feel like moves that moved the character itself (yoshis egg roll for example) shouldn’t count, as if you counted them then surely you’d want to ‘outrange’ Sephiroths fully charged up B. On top of that, it isn’t out ranging him, but closing the gap. You might as well just walk in and hit him

Simon Belmont's range is a bit longer but sadly not larger. And Sephiroth has a recovery that can parry attacks and has directional input so he's probably better overall.

Joker's Gun doesn't count as a projectile. Last time I checked that means Bayo's smash attack with guns can hit him as well.

I think the good thing about Sephiroth's attacks is that they're disjointed, that's why seeing attack like DK's up-b or Yoshi's side-b "outrange" Sephiroth is kind of a lie. I think you should do this same challenge but placing a bomper in between the two players. That would be fair enough.

And people complain Sephiroth shouldn't be in Smash because his katana was too long

I think he should be in smash. But this test doesn’t prove anything. Sephiroth still has the most range in game and probably only lose to Min Min. You can’t say just because some characters can outrange his side Smash means he doesn’t have range

Some things I noticed in this video: Ones that dont change a result but still matter: Young and Toon Link both have Zairs that werent used. You stated no projectile would be used yet still used Steve Down Smash which is a projectile. Difference makers: Bowser UpB can reach Mega Man, Joker, and Cloud have sliding Down Tilts Joker's gun reaches and is not a projectile Cloud's Up B can move more sideways with the downwards attack Since you jumped with some characters, that means you could've allowed Mii Brawler to use Feint Kick and Flying Drop Kick to reach. Corrin's pin's tipper hitbox can reach if you jump and attack, moving them up a tier.

if you use joker and clouds down it, why won't you use mega man or olimar's down tilt which are the same?

Mii Brawler can definitely do it with Burning drop kick, maybe even onslaught. Also, Bowser could probably do it with whirling fortress, and since Joker's gun bullets aren't projectiles, it means it counts.

I noticed a pattern with this and the jump video. If the character needs help from something (in the case of the jump challenge, moves that go higher if they hit someone and Kirby's Copy Ability, in this case, moves that allow or cause the character to move forward) the VO will be "Nice work!" and if they do not need help it will say "Success!"

This just made me realize how many characters have a move that just sends themselves forward

I think Bowser could have done it with his up special like Donkey Kong.

If you're going to count moves that move the character forward, then mostly none of them beat his range due to Octaslash besides a fully charged Green Missle or Skull Bash, but even then that's just distance traveled because the hitboxes are still dramatically smaller than Octaslash which is so large it hits below the stage.

We don’t use f smash to kill. It’s honestly sometimes unreliable and it’s not as strong. We use up smash when we read an opponent is about to jump or down smash on ledge

@@Dresfvae Hey fellow Bayo main, this is a bit unrelated but I have a question. I see arguments in the comments that Joker should have made it because his gun is a disjoint and not a projectile. If this is the case, shouldn't Bayo be able to do it using her Bullet Arts? Aren't they disjointed as well? Moves like jab, down tilt, forward tilt, forward smash, and up smash would be able to make it. I know she can hit Sephiroth with her side b, but this might move her into the "not moving" category.

@@fromallangels2500 So I tested this in stage builder and found answers to your questions. Joker’s Gun is a disjointed hit box. If you was to keep mashing gun, Sephiroth wouldn’t move. Even if you did Gun then input a jump, he still wouldn’t move. Bayonetta’s bullet arts are the same thing. They have a disjoint with no hitstun. Bullet Climax works but it’s a projectile so wouldn’t count

If you move the grounded bowser up-B, he can definitely do it

Are we not going to talk about how the first line of the video was *This video WAS sponsored* as if he was going to be sponsored but it was cancelled.

Cloud may be able to do it if you charge limit and use up b. It gives him a bit more horizontal movement on the upward part and you can go back down. Also, a case could be made for joker seeing how his guns aren't really a projectile as they can't be reflected but that one is just personal opinion. One last one, Bowser may do it with grounded up b. I noticed that wasn't shown in the video so I thought I'd mention it

If DK’s up special worked, wouldn’t Bowser’s too? I also think one of Brawler’s specials would’ve made it too.

Oh, good. I'm not the only one who noticed they didn't even try with Mii Brawler.

If they’re allowed to use attacks that move them horizontally, then each character should have been measured against Octaslash instead of F-smash.

I think you didn’t have the right combination of specials for mii brawler, since he can probably do it with the multi kick side b, the dropkick side b, or the flip kick down b. Also if cloud had limit he probably could’ve done it with up b

Pretty sure Bowser can make it with up b, Cloud might have made it with limit up b and mii brawler feint jump (I think down b number 3 but not sure on that) would more than likely make it

*Here are some moves you forgot to try:* *Bowser* Up Special *Villager* Side Special (while riding on it). If Steve's Side Special counts, then so should Villager's. *Cloud* Up Special (Limit Break). While Pyra might do it with Prominence Revolt or Flame Nova, (or just her F-Smash because stupid flaming sword), I want to see Mythra do it with a wall in front of her to prevent Photon Edge from moving her. It doesn't count as moving towards Sephiroth if she's stuck behind a wall while her ghosts ignore the wall entirely.

Rules lawyering time! Megaman's leaf shield is not a projectile until it is thrown (reflector's don't work until this point.) Marth, Roy, Lucina, and Chrom were all able to succeed by entering additional inputs once their attack began with their dancing blade attack. Due to this precedent, Megaman should be allowed to do the same and move freely and have it count until he is forced to throw the leaf shield.
