The one thing you don’t like about the bike, is the number 1 reason I love the bike. No BS technology that’s not needed, and costs a ton to fix if it craps out. I have a K7 GSXR750 and I love it. Simple, powerful, fast, good looking and no electronic gimmicks👍🏼

@@frackyouasshat5531 Old comment but this is just a stupid attitude. ABS is awesome when riding in less than perfect condition. You can talk about "dont know how to use brakes correctly" all you want but add a little bit of dust to the road and you will be toast without ABS if you NEED to brake.

I hope it stays as wel, but with no safety bits.....it really needs to be bought updated with traction control etc, but maybe designed so that it can all be turned off for the track. THEN, without a doubt, the best supersport out there. :)

@@VroomBroomZoom I definitely understand. I'm old school. My first modern gsxr is what I have as of 4 month ago. I bought a 2018 gsxr 1000R. Before that I had the legendary K5 for 15 years. Before that a bunch of gsxr 750. I've always really liked the 750. It's definitely the sweet spot for the street. I'm not big on the modern electronics besides the quick shifter that comes on my bike. I do understand your point on the abs. It's growing on me. I don't ride in the rain but if I get caught it's really nice to have. You have one amazing machine. If I had room and time I would have a gsxr 750 right next to my current machine. I'm certain Suzuki listening to the crowd and will eventually have abs standard on all there gsxr options. Take care

Ahhhh yes the Gixxer 7fiddy one of my favorite topics to bang on about. It's true this video is a couple of years old now and there's a good chance you may have moved on to greener pastures like so many people do, but strangely enough I still feel compelled to comment on your first thoughts review. As far as serious Superbikes go other than the Gixxer I've owned 09 R6 2012 R1 2016 S1000rr and 2010 2016 2018 ZX10R. My K8 GSXR750 was without doubt the perfect balance between not enough and too much. As I was listening to your remarks as you tried to put a label on the power delivery I was audibly yelling at you thru the screen, the word that best describes this bikes power delivery is LINEAR! I cannot sing enough praise for the little 750 as it truly taught me a great many lessons I'll never forget and hold true to this very day. As a fellow gixxer750 owner yourself I'm sure you get asked all the time "but why"? After a few good years with my Gixxer, I actually bought it brand new, modified it bit by bit as required, more on that later, the one thing that stood out more than anything else is how it teaches you to ride, anyone can jump on a litre bike and twist the throttle and go fast in a straight line, and the majority go that way cos it's easy, but as they all find out the hard way, it's at the very first turn where they are forced to wash off that speed and attempt to turn in, they are demoralised by the 750cc bike, sure they will power back past but corner to corner to corner they are left for dead and it kills them. Only the truly gifted highly experienced riders can muscle a big litre bike around the turns, but for the rest of us, the 750 is the perfect bike for any rider to get the most out of themselves and improve their skills out of sight. Best advice I can ever give any Rider interested in learning how to ride fast or fast bikes in general don't buy a fast bike straight away, learn how to ride a slow bike fast! Once you have truly mastered a gixxer750 you can say u are ready to step up to a litre bike. You are probably already aware by now since filming this video that ripping off the cat converter is actually counter productive for engine performance due to decrease in back pressure, sure its a huge weight saving as they weigh a tonne but if your down 3-4hp atw as a consequence the weight savings are cancelled out true? Without a power commander or ecu remap, deletion of cat is a waste of time unless you are just wanting a loud exhaust. A slip on pipe is also to some extent a very nominal power increase if at all depending on the brand /model, in my experience with the gixxer750s these upgrade mods are beneficial but only if done in conjunction with performance air filter, a PC and most importantly a competent Retune needs to be done in order to really appreciate the gains those expensive upgrades are making. Again, im talking about the Gixxer specifically here not ya mates cbr600 that got 8hp gain from removing the baffle etc etc 🤣 by the end my K8 had race glass, rear sets, braided lines, double bubble screen, front and rear suspension professionally recalibrated for my sag and weight and rider level, (this made the biggest improvements to my lap times) full titanium exhaust with yoshi slip on, PC3, Dynoverks Racing retune, 2 teeth on the front sprocket and 3 on the rear, and there's probably stuff I'm forgetting but this was a little rocket ship an amazing corner speed demon tantamount to a MOTO2 Machine. Depending on what dyno you use the rwhp figures will always be a thing of contention but using the exact same dyno from brand new to its end form some 5 years later, it made 133RWHP when it was new and completely dead stock by and when we did the power up it was 145.9RWHP which isn't hugely impressive to guys with litre bikes but most 750 guys will know that's about the most you can get out of K7-K11 range. Fun fact my best ever lap times at the island The creek Broadford and Winton were all set on the Gixxer750 before stepping up to a much newer and waaaaay more powerful bike in the ZX10R 2017. The only difference I found was I did not have to ride the ragged edge to turn similar laptimes on the bigger bike.

Who buys them? Value minded riders that want a beast of a machine that gets overlooked for higher priced offerings that has the nimbleness of a 600 and a power profile more like a 1000.... without getting into the modern 200 HP range that isn't even usable on the street. So I'd say the type of rider who buys a GSXR750 also likely is pretty skilled and can tear up a twisty road better than the guys buying 30,000 dollar 200 HP pasta rockets that cruise around on them and then hate on the humble GSXR lol....

Hard to say...I think the 750 has done Suzuki very well over the years to push the power just that significant little more HP than the 600. But now, with these bigger engines and all the tech, it needs a bit of a reinvention. It's definitely due for it to be more than just a track weapon. It's becoming harder and harder to justify the cost.

Without any doubt what so ever, this is very illegal in Australia. I'm fairly certain the states have ratified Aus design laws and hence basically anything that detracts from the OEM design is 'illegal'. All mods need engineered certification and in Queensland I'm fairly certain it needs a mod plate riveted to the bike. In essence, slip ons are illegal. At the moment, bikes around Mount Glorious are getting db tested, then they have to go to a mechanic to have the sound level certified by a mechanic. Most cops however look past these, and as I'm sur eyou're aware, Harleys are super loud, yet they don't get defaulted, cos it's good PR for the police. I think the only legal systems are those offered by the factory, as in, it's in their catalogues etc. Now, all of this waffle could be completely wrong, but it's my best understanding of it so far. 👍

I have this same bike and I was considering selling it to get a 1000... however the more research I do the more I am convinced the 750 is the better street ride. I think the power comes on very sensibly, the bike won’t wheelie under heavy 1st gear launches whereas I am told the 1000 will wheelie every time. In terms of speed, I have raced my friends Porsche Turbo which has 520hp and we are level up to 100mph - we ran out of road after that. So for anyone who wants a comparison to a vehicle there you have it.

Also I was thinking about removing the cat - currently running standard system with Yoshi end can. I have read that de-catting gives more power but I am not sure. I also had an MT-07 and I fitted a full Akra system and there was no change in acceleration or speed. However when I have de-catted cars there is a significant change. I’d be interested to hear anyone’s experiences of this?
