In Vietnam the Vietnamese tried the same tactic with their Junks only to be met by the Destroyer's 5" guns. Then one ship's Captain decided to save rounds and started to ram them sinking them. after a few of those they stopped. The Russian trawlers used to try to get into the act so our returning aircraft coming back from bombing runs with hung ordinance used to shake their planes close to the trawlers and the resulting explosions put that one to bed.

That's not true at all. The Strait of Hormuz is international waters. There is an internationally recognized traffic pattern past 12 miles offshore. That's a similar argument to saying United States owns the Florida Straits or Gulf of Mexico. The Straits of Florida are international waters and used by vessels of all Nations every single day, including military vessels. They travel unhindered.

@aintreal301 The Straits of Hormuz are bordered by three countries, not one, Iran, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. Iran has no right to claim the Straits under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. By the way I will be most interested to learn about your claim about the Iranians catching a US gunboat and causing them to ‘literally’ piss their pants. Until then, you need to get out more and a little less of your ignorance and BS.
