Formerly known as synchronized swimming, artistic swimming has been an Olympic sport since 1984 in the Summer Olympic Games of Los Angeles. From the USA to Canada and Russia, all three nations successfully led the sport throughout the Olympics. Russia took over from the 2000 Olympics, the Russians have won every Gold medal ever since. Anastasia Davydova, Svetlana Romashina and Natalia Ishchenko hold 5 Gold medals each. As Davydova and Ishchenko retired from the competition, could Romashina win a record of 6 times Gold in Tokyo 2020?

I'll never forget the incredible performance at Rio 2016 to Archangel. It was a tribute to the late granddaughter of their head coach. The girl passed away after a battle with cancer.

Synchronized swimming is the most difficult team sport ever made on planet earth. Recpect all ladies for hard work. 👏

It's not the most difficult . The most difficult is figure skating I mean can you do 4 revolutions on barely an 2 cm blade on Ice ??????? Figure skating is the toughest PERIOD

@@beckykagonia1518 I personally don’t think figure skating is the most difficult at all, I would say weightlifting outranks all of them by ages. It’s all subjective.

@@choccymilkconnoisseur2775 weight lifting sure looks hard but it's only one element you need unlike figure skating which you will need around 10 .But not gonna lie weight lifting sure looks hard

In Japan, there are so many patients of coronavirus. However, in Tokyo, only 5000 PCR tests are conducted each day. That is so small number because Tokyo is one of the biggest city in the world. so there are a lot of patients who got coronavirus without showing any symptom at all. I think athletes and media member will be at high risk when arriving Tokyo. 日本では、そこら中にコロナウイルス感染者がいます。しかし東京では1日に5000回のPCRテストしか行われておりません。この5000というのは世界最大の都市であることを加味すれば、異常に少ない数字。ですから、東京には症状はでていなくても感染力を有する患者が隔離されることもなく沢山います。アスリートやメディアの方は東京で危険にさらされることになります。

Of course, prior to joining the olympics athletes/coaches/sports officials should have been immunized.

Russians rock!
Every men's event in the Olympics has an equivalent women's event. But rhythmic gymnastics and synchronized swimming are two events for women only. So there are more events for women than men in the Olympics. That's extremely unjust and sexist!
