Who Are Actually The GREATEST Role Players In NBA History?

Спорт

When the NBA Playoffs are here, we are always looking to see which teams (star players cough cough) are going to take their team over the edge and push them throughout the playoffs. However, for some basketball fans, we know the stars are going to ball out, but in close playoff series, it's the role players that actually win you the series, not the stars...
So it got me thinking... Who are actually the greatest role players in NBA history? The ones that know what they need to do at all times, and do it at the highest level. Well, this is that video, but there are a couple of twists in this video that you may not be expecting...

Stars are obviously important to any team but having key role players can alter a series. You have to look beyond the stats to see the impact certain players have. This might come off blasphemous at first but I think it's Dennis Rodman. Think about it the guy averaged 7 points a game, averaged 3-6 shots a game and less then 2 assist per game. He was a massive liability on offense to score. With that said the point of a "role player" is to be told to do something and that is what they do. Rodman was told to play defense and rebound and did both amazing.

Me and my brother still have “College Hoops 2K7” with JJ on the cover for PS2. We pretty much edited every players name to the correct name, since in this game every player had a made up name. It took a long time.

Horford has to be in this discussion. Since he got into the league he’s been a net positive for every team he’s been on except Philly (because their system used him inefficiently). Bostons been to the playoffs every year with him and it’s not a coincidence.

I love lists like these that highlight lesser known players. I've been watching the NBA for 30 years and always valued hustle and defense, seeing some of these players again was a nice hit of nostalgia. I'm not sure if he fits your criteria, but another guy that could fit a couple categories here is Nick Collison, very similar to Haslem.

Fantastic video. These players are very significant to basketball history. Two of them have caused me direct heartbreak! Mike Miller beat Butler who had the game won in the first round of the NCAA tournament and Tayshaun Prince blocked Reggie's shot that would have given the Pacers a 3-1 lead and 2nd trip to the finals 💔💔
