Writing is a great way to share what you know. Think of yourself as a story teller. It isn't about being an expert but sharing stories about your life, about what you do and what you know. I think people appreciate learning when it isn't an all or nothing approach but just about sharing your stories and your perspective on a topic or issue
Marie, you strike gold with these tips! Whenever I even write for my blog I feel like, "Who is going to read this, Who am I to call myself an expert or influential". Thanks for the feeling of freedom to just go for it!
It's taken me many years, but I'm finally starting to believe in my own writing. I've studied psychology for more than 14 years. I'm starting to realize just how valuable that is to the people around me. Thanks for the reminder!
This was a very good question and I really enjoyed the answer. I for sure have had this problem for a long time. I was VERY enthusiastic to write, but when I finally got everything written down and close to publish time, I started doubting my credibility.
Brilliant advice! So appreciated! I had an experience as a teenager which blocked me from writing. I always enjoyed writing from the heart and sharing my truth. Only recently have I truly gotten back into my real writing groove, these words are perfect right now! Writing is another way to be creative and form words like art :)
I love it. It took me a long time to start my blog. I was hesitant but remembering that I have a unique voice and experience helped me to break out of that frame of mind.
Gosh this is something I STRUGGLE with! Thanks so much for addressing this topic and letting those of us who don't have tons of fancy degrees feel like we can still be writers!
Who am I not to tell you thank you for every inspiration you bring us!
this is the perfect answer to a question I didn't even know I had.
Perfect timing!! Just in time for my book writing project :) Loved all the tips!
I can relate to this. When you first start out you're basically afraid of what others might think, and you underestimate yourself just because you're a "beginner". Hence the "who am I to write this" statement. The more you write, the more your confidence will rise.
Great episode! Not caring so much about what others think is a good way to going about writing and then sharing your knowledge & experiences!
thanks so much Marie. this video inspired me so much to get back on track for my love of writing, amidst my busy work.
LOVE this! I can totally relate, especially when I first started out!
Love your vid!!! Just what I needed to hear....being afraid of being a know it all hasn't stopped me, but I can admit being negatively criticized constantly has slowed me down a bit...
This definitely plagued me in the past. But then I thought why not just go for it and write my debut ebook Extreme Blind Date? I thought it's likely that my story about following your gut for love and adventure will probably help other women do the same and if not it'll at least be a fun, flirty and feisty read. And that's exactly what it's done and been! I've had such positive responses and they continue to roll in!
I needed to hear this. Thank you, Marie! Your dress and hair are stunning, as usual:-)))
I needed this Marie thank you
Beautiful! Heartfelt and inspiring
Thanks Marie. That is so encouraging for a newbie blogger :)
Thank you for this. Maybe liquid courage is key, hee hee. I am back in school to studying multimedia development in my forties and when I have to write for an assignment, I do really well, but haven't really started writing for myself. I have always wanted to write, and eventually will need to develop great copy and content for web development projects. So my AHA moment for the day- write about not being an expert on any of it, and just share the learning process from scratch... but just start writing!

Melani Sweet And proof read your work. I swear I am not drinking. Yet.
"Stay on your game and keep going for your dreams...!" Heck, yeah!
I used to be like this, too afraid of offending or alienating prospects and fans. Not any more! My opinions are always backed by facts, I'm entitled to them and I share them with love, kindness and respects so off they go!

Thank you so much for any help:-) I am aware of B school but I am looking for something more intimate if that makes sense? Brandis xo
