    @@RAPEDBYBLACKS as a Jiu jitsu practitioner, I agree. It’s no coincidence that wrestling is the strongest base going into mma. If you can’t get your opponent down with wrestling then all other grappling skill cannot be used. I’ve been focusing so much more on wrestling lately and it’s so fun, Jiu jutsu athletes would be so much more intimidating if they all had at least basic wrestling skills.

My discipline has been boxing, however, it is fascinating watching the techniques of wrestling/grappling and hearing the commentary. If you're ever in Atlanta or Phoenix, please post a schedule, I'd try a class. Even if it's to walk away dead tired and defeated, only to repeat the cycle 🤜🏾🤛🏻

    My father passed away a few years ago, a 3- time world champion greco-roman wrestler back in the 80's. This brings back so many good memories from the past, love watching this, keep at it coach!

    Thanks for doing these videos, I currently train bjj and I always knew wrestling would improve my grappling and it’s kind of hard to find gyms that teach straight up wrestling and lucky for me I’m a very visual learner so these shorts always help and my grappling experience makes these videos very comprehensive for me.     This is deadly. It’s hard to imagine another experienced grappler letting you get that leg though. I guess you are going more for an over the top than around the back technique right? It’s going to always be someone’s instinct to turn and face you.

    Yes, the step over and getting the leg locked in has to be quick so needs to be drilled a lot to be fluid. We also drill quickly stepping back and working to square up if his hips come up before we lock it in.

    Yes, if you drill it enough and become slick with locking the leg in, then you are golden.

    Yeah but also very risky because as we all know high man loses in that situation if he grabs your far arm and hips into you you're on your back

    Yes, it's a risk if he tries to hip in before the leg is locked in. When drilling the move you also must drill backing out and squaring up when the opponent tries to hip in. That's the next video in the series.

    Great to hear this! With time and dedication you can accomplish anything! There are just a couple of professional choices for Olympic style wrestling which would be MMA and coaching. But whatever you choose you must set your goal and work towards it everyday. It comes down to how bad do you want it!
