I've been a fan for many years and I hope he gets another title shot too before he finishes his MMA career. He is always ranked up high as a middleweight and just had problems with Izzy but so does almost every other fighter in that division especially lately.

Unfortunately against the best he's shown a tendency to revert to his more boring lay and pray style, and I don't know if I can see him beating Shavkat.

These two have some of the best minds in the sport for sure, two really smart technical guys.
It’s crazy but I legit think if Mas wins, his next fight is a title shot no matter what. He’ll get the winner of Colby and Leon in August bc either fight gets massive ppv buys if you put other title fights on the card. Either Leon/Jorge or Colby/Jorge 2? Imagine either in Miami as the main event? Would be insane. All that said, let’s see if Gilbert makes that scenario not play out.

As well rounded and lethal Burns is, I just feel like he'll get chinned. He as a tendency of getting chinned. Usman took out his sails with a jab and Chimaev did the same. Jorge is gonna throw that switch left hook and catch him bad

We all know popularity sells fights but it should be about win streaks. Dude just beat an undefeated prospect. Colby and jorge were both 0-2 and colby only beat jorge for the shot a year ago. (3-4 fights for title challenges chokes up the division for the other athletes). Not complaining the UFC is an entertainment buisness. If jorge and leon win theyll do the same thing. 1 win equals a title shot

Colby rag-dolled the serial suckerpuncher, so Colby's ahead in the line for the title shot. Heck, Belal is ahead of Masvidal, too. Whittaker is spot-on here.

@@brandonrothsman2665 eryeahok... but Gilbert knows a bit about Jujitsu...he hung with Khamzat, who let’s face it, hadn’t even had a fight till the Burns match up, he walked through everyone. Burns could finish Masvidals UFC stint as it would be 4 Ls in a row. The pressure ain’t on Gilbert..
I love these two guys, they are intelligent and down to earth, they are just very decent people
I will tune in for colby always. I do like his wrestling

Both of them are great fighters
I do think it will be difficult to take Masvdal down, but I think burns will figure him out in the middle of the 2 round. But Masvdal does have knockout power and he could get caught. But I think burns is going to do it, how he looked against khamzat and his conditioning was top notch.

Masvidal is good with scrambles, but Burns is just a bit better. I think Masvidal will probably escape a few takedowns but his defence won't last forever. It might end up being a bit like the Burns-Usman fight though. Burns dominates initially through sheer aggression but he starts to fade and Masvidal comes on strong.

Whitaker is the uncrowned champion. He won the rematch with izzy clear as day it was a robbery. Even izzy Knew it raising his hand immediately after the fight and looking down all depressed and shit when the score was being read.

If he wins, he 100% jumps the line. They will promote the hell out of the whole 3 piece and a soda. The PPV would do very good numbers.

Colby beat Usman(my opinion), Jorge Masvidal, Robbie Lawler, Tyron Woodley, RDA, Damien Maia and Dong Hyun Kim(who had a 24-3 record when he and colby fought) Who has a better Resume in the Division you delusional Dullards? @@AnirudhMittal100 Remember those 2 fights were in the Apex which I believe is a smaller cage by 5' (25' vs 30'.) Doesn't sound like a lot but I'd bet that limits his movement giving his opponents easier TD attempts. I need to see WB against a grappler in a normal sized cage to know if he's really declined, and if he's been putting in the work wrestling with Chris like he says he has.

The ONLY reason that Leon wants to give Phony Montana a title shot is because he sucker punched him way back when. Masvidal isn't even ranked in the Top Ten and he's lost his last three fights in a row. One was a highlight reel Knockout where his head spun around nearly 360°. Getting to fight for the title is an honor which should be earned through winning fights, not because some loser sucker punched someone backstage when he knew security would immediately jump in, which they did. And if Masvidal gets a title shot with a single win in his last four fights, then the UFC is encouraging behavior like Masvidal's. Interesting to note that he has sucker punched two of the top three guys in his division, like a coward. Should that be rewarded? Does it make sense or is it fair to give a title fight to Masvidal over Colby when Colby beat him the last time they met, a year ago? I really, REALLY hope Gilbert beats Masvidal's ass and retires him.
