What a tired and annoying cliche..

I will dedicate this song to my son, who struggled with weight and self confidence throughout the years regardless of how much advice and suggestions myself and loved ones gave him. Fortunately, all the advice worked out since he went from 220 lbs to 145 lbs to join the military. Made it through basic and advanced training and became a US Airborne soldier. Good job son! The sky is the limit!

exquisite vocal fluidity and purity of tone and ability. Untalented artists like Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift could never sound even as half as good as Whitney Houston.

4:11 is the most emotive part for me. There was no melisma, but you can feel that she was singing from her heart and truly meant that cry for "one moment in time." RIP Queen Whitney.

I was a small girl when I heard this song for the first time, it was recorded for the Seoul Olympic games in 1988. I’ve never heard anything this beautiful before, it was spell bounding. .

I can't think of any other song that encapsulates the spirit of the Olympics, or what it means to be an Olympian whose entire life has been one huge sacrifice and an unwavering commitment and dedication to to competing, on the obscure chance that they just might be awarded an Olympic medal years after commencing training in their chosen sport. Gloria Estefan's "Higher" is the only other song that I think comes even remotely close to this song but, while it's good in its own right, it could easily be about some other scenario other than the Olymics and somehow doesn't quite capture the zeitgeist of all things Olympics, or the nostalgia and tradition of such. I'm not even sure this song was even written specifically for the Olympics....but if it wasn't Id be amazed, as it certainly hits the spot.

Whitney has demonstrated her complete vocal range in this song. Very under-rated song.

It has been 11 years since Miss Whitney Houston passed away. She had an incredible voice. She is now in Heaven with her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown.

So many singers these days just go through the motions. Whitney had passion and soul. When she sings we all listen as its a performance. Arguably the greatest female singer of alltime.

Whitney's voice gives me chills EVERYTIME

The day Whitney sang that song at the Olympics she reached the pinnacle of her career. She was the very bast anybody could be at her chosen profession. You don't have to be an athlete to reach that pinnacle. I don't think she realized that or she would still be around today. Such a tragic ending!

Whitney was the best in my opinion who can sing her heart out giving us all chills up and down our spine. Even when she sang the Star Banner anthem it was awesomely amazing cuz she sang it perfectly that no one has done it like before sounding beautiful. Others would sound square and not good. I totally agree. Every song she has ever sung is a masterpiece in my eyes. She nailed every song she ever sang. She's an angel in my eyes. She just made a mistake and got mixed up in the wrong crap. This is an olympic song, but feels like it’s her song of her life. The lyrics describe her so much “rise and fall”… “When I'm more than I thought I could be When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away And the answers are all up to me Give me one moment in time” I love and i miss her so much. She and her music will never be forgotten.
