And there was no raspiness in her sound as well. At this time, she was the greatest singer of all time, Imo she was even more talented than Aretha Franklin (just becuase Aretha was born years earlier doesn't mean she had better vocal technique) or Mariah Carey

When God gave out vocal ability to babies in the womb, and Whitney Houston cam along in 1963, he single-handedly created and destroyed the mold. He was finished with the gift. It was finished in the past, it is still finished in the present, and it will remain finished in the future. For more than half of her 48 years , Whitney Elizabeth Houston successfully completed the work she came to do. May her name echo throughout the halls of history forever and ever.

Even Michael Jackson loved Whitney Houston's voice he said she can sing the phone book and make it sound good to the ears a phenomenal singer! Whitney has that voice if you didn't believe in God or any higher being listening to her voice would make you change your mind. This woman's voice is so beautiful I bet if you played it in the jungle on repeat the animals would lay down and go to sleep! My cat does it! No lie when my cat becomes too much with the zoomies, and he won't listen I put on Whitney Houston and he will sit down, then lay down, then he is sleep by the 3rd song! Don't get me wrong there are artists who can sing like Michael Jackson Luther Vandross and Aretha Franklin, and have a gift that touches people. But I believe God had a special gold box of gifts and when she was conceived he gave her that gift it was a double gift, an anointed voice with a special ear to hear melodies unlike any other. No other artist on this planet can control their vibrato make it fast for uptempo songs and slow it down with a velvety texture like Whitney can in a ballad. She had a gift all races can honestly say when they hear her voice, it's beautiful and you want to imitate that sound. God keep her in your loving arms because she went through hell on earth.

The orchestras and bands always had a notoriously hard time keeping up her Whitney because she never sang a song the same way twice, especially this one. As a vocalist, SO much could go wrong, but she never hit a bum note and always had the confidence in knowing that her voice would do what she wanted it to do.

"It's hard to choose a favorite among so" many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves. Since, Elizabeth, it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the album." - American Psycho
