Pedro QuIn Xtina never sings notes straight through. She ruins it with over-sining and runs. Whitney is well versed in being able to hit her notes without having to working her way around it. Whitney's voice is more smooth and less annoying.
She didn’t need hundreds dancers or fireworks, just her voice, a microphone and her huge stage presence. She was phenomenal 👏🏾👏🏾

Goodness gracious. thankfully, by God! Peace of God, needed, the song, "I Wanna Dance with Somebody," does bring back memories. Remember the pyrotechniques, to portray how big a star Rachel Maron is in the film, "The Body Guard," because your comment of not needing "fireworks," inspired that memory. By being one believer of believers, by the Name of one true Eternal God Creator! Lord of in Heaven and on earth, that, ubiquitously known, "In the beginning God..," Genesis 1. Myself, has the pen name, Jon Cithisen, because it is clean and kosher. Of course, just simplistic truth, Whitney E. Houston is not like Rachel Moron, but did an excellent pursuit of honorably portraying, someone deeply concerned first and foremost for Fletcher the young boy in that film, "The Body Guard." Did you notice it is a type of romance 'novel," not too representative of either the household and professional security body guards, or the special ops, to protect dignitaries like a president of these United States of America? However, somehow, the professional security gentleman with the deep resonating calm steady voice, did eventually hire, "funny man," *Alexander Graham Bell* as if the professional security was not on the ball. A special case of a possible unknown professional hit man or woman, is not reflective of the security of a top name professional singer portrayed, Rachel Maron, just true. First of all, he does not even desire the opportunity and turns down $2k, then at $3k per day, he takes the job, somewhat down in the dumps, touting his professionalism a little, hey he took the offer. He seemed over confident from the get go. Maybe he needed to retire from the "special ops," part of security, God Only Knows. He steps out, knowing a stalker could be a plausible unknown subject, "un-sub," person of interest, professional or not, could eventually be a shooter, sniper or some other professional hit on threatened Rachel Maron, who honorable did harmony is singing professionally, a top name as portrayed. So, in real life, the role, "Frank Farmer," Kevin Cosner, no reflection on him, for he did pursue Whitney E Houston for two years to do the role. And I truly remember, he did say something regarding, keep the cameras rolling, *before* the deal had been complete, I think, from how a recall an interview, in that seen of Fletcher playing with a toy but sharp good boat. So, at IMDb.com I just looked up, "Devaney," played by, honorable thespian Bill Cobbs, came out of the house, at that occasion, and re-requested "Frank Farmer," played by honorable movie thespian, director, musician producer Kevin Costner, long in the entertainment industry, - that is for the job of extra like "special ops," security body guard, former Secret Service to take the opportunity, and yes, each of us knows, he did take the job. Okay, the excellent security in place, did need the extra help, because of the extreme threat to life and limb. So, how come "Frank Farmer," after the household and profession production crew, including security got acquainted, and "Frank Farmer" warmed up to "Rachel Moron," he had so much time to "moon" like a sophomoric high schooler, view videos, instead of getting in touch with contacts of needed releasable to him, "Frank Farmer?" He could have done some extra grounds checking, parameter of the house, and after the boat explosion, thank God, the unknown subject seemed to just want to rattle those of the household, and Fletcher did not be harmed. So, zero trace of someone on the property, perhaps a "redacted" liaison with the FBI, who could have been contacted, not being obvious of search of forensic evidence subsequent to the boat explosion. Not only that, DNA evidence of, knowing so by the portrayal of substance of unspeakable could be nature on a bed, and "Rachel Maron," did exclaim, in Godly indignation, deeply concerned, *somebody was in my house!?" Being in security, by 12 years total, and 10 years Security Officer certified to keep license, I did learn a lot regarding security. In reporting, no, that is zero embellishing by opinion. Yes, the inclusion of one's own perspective, but never embellish someone's testimony, and only report physical evidence, do not disturb physical evidence, unless it is a public safety immediate problem. So, yes not an officer, protect and serve, justly peace keeping, officer of the court and law, but have had numerous needed conversations with those professional, yes, police, however, licensed in various capacities. And the needed kept to only being a concierge professional, relating to folk of venues in so numerous of capacities, including guests who attended conventions and entertainment recreational shows, mostly on stage. Thank God, the few occasions of irate customers putting folk in danger, like blocking egress lanes, thereby the fire marshal does keep guidelines on each event. On rare occasions, locking arms to protect performers, stage hands, other personnel, and equipment on stage or other places, being bum rushed, it not a pleasant, but oil of gladness, by God's favored, rest, blessing, of The Good News of exceedingly great joy, God's Goodwill toward humanity, The Holy Spirit only Hearing, God's Sealed Divine Revelation, now 2000 years ago, never leaving orphaned, thereby, God's favor rests on God Is Only Impartial Ever Continuing Observer, and only Omniscient One, having God's favor rests, the gift of God's grace on only whom God is pleased;- thereby, thanks be to God for the happy circumstance, I was never physically struck. Whitney Houston will forever be one of the greatest vocalists of all times. Whitney could never replaced or duplicated. The media used to always scrutinized and judged Whitney for how she lived her life. But let's be real all of ours greats have had troubled lives offstage i.e. Marvin Gaye, i.e. Sam Cooke, i.e. James Brown, i.e. Jackie Wilson. But their personal lives never took away from the fact that they was great entertainers. They all had their share of issues and struggles that they was dealing with offstage, but onstage that didn't matter. Whitney's legacy will forever live on.

not all. not Ella, Barbra, Aretha. and while they aren't as great singers, Madonna, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Bette Midler, Cher, and others have kept their health and their sanity and sobriety. there are people who handle their lives without dying young, or succumbing to substance abuse. I dont mean that as a judgment, obviously tons of artists do fall into troubles, and theyre all great. i just mean it doesnt always happen. cheers

theblueangel28 Agreed, I would included Linda and Donna ... but I sure wouldn't mention Madonna or Cher as great singers. I do wish people that were not around for say 80's, would stop acting like they were and know what was going on at the time. Houston came out when MTV was taking off... as did Madonna and Janet. It help them build huge careers. But back in the 80's we still had Streisand, Summer, Ronstadt, Franklin, still recording and with great R & B vocalist like Patti Labelle, Karyn White, Vesta Williams, Mikki Howard, Regina Belle, Anita Baker and in Pop/Rock Annie Lennox, Ann Wilson, Pat Benatar, Taylor Dayne etc... so when I here people now, or read article written now about the 80's, and they try to act like these other women didn't exist, or that Houston was better then the pack. I know it's almost a certainly that they weren't around, and that not only is it not true; it is completely inflammatory. The 80's were truly the last great decade with a lot of great singers around. Her legend might have grown over the years, but facts are facts.. and history can't be re-written.

theblueangel28 Actually I think your wrong. Madonna sounds different in the studio and all the back up vocal and auto tune then in live. And Whitney sounds the same in the studio and live.
No back up dancers, little light effects, no props, just her. She rocked the stage all by herself.
Those exec suits in the audience should have been dancing in the isles. Whitney, amazing as always.
The public are sooo shy ! Come on dance guys !!
She looked happy here and it seems she had a good time. Her voice was flawless. One and only. Legend.

Whitney Houston was a vocal prodigy. Her voice is the platinum standard of what a woman's voice should be. Whitney's rendition of the star spangled banner is noted by critics as being the definitive version of the national anthem in history of the song. There aren't enough superlatives to describe how awesome Whitney was. I love the way she sung live. ( KZread HER SONG "THIS DAY"), I'm supremely confident that you will be impressed. She was the rare artist who could interpret a live vocal performance in a million different ways and make it sound better than the studio version. Her ability to play with melody was underrated genius. Listening to her sing was pure ambrosia. Whitney Houston was a "Tour De Force" and left an unmatched musical legacy.

BEST COMMENT EVER
That tapping the mic to the rhythm isn't something you get in a day. It comes when you are taught and you learn music even before you spoke in your life. That's a rigorous discipline to cultivate. Shows how she becomes a little girl when she starts singing. They call her The Voice for a reason.
One of the best 5 minutes I have ever experienced.
This woman was the ultimate artist. I've never, ever seen anybody from any genres, who actually lived with the music. Pure musician to the core.
