Whitetail Bums | Texas Public Land Bow Hunting Double!
Ойын-сауық
In this video Michael Stoll, Eric Gentry, And Greg Latham share their story of bow hunting Texas public land. There are plenty of High's and many lows but on Texas public you do whatever it's gonna take. Rattling, grunting, tucking into a downed tree in an ol' chair, just trying to get into bow range on some of the hardest public land bucks in America.

Praise the Lord ! Camera dudes are tough contenders👀 🤠😜..."out of a lawn chair " 😂
I hated, HATED, the 13" rule here in East Texas when it first came out. I was like a lot of ppl, thinking, "they just don't get that big here". But now that it has been in place for several yrs, I have taken some really nice bucks. BIggest to date is 150 6/8". It is doing some good. Great video guys. Love y'all being in East Texas!

Are you using gun or archery, and do you if the area in this video is archery only?

I have no idea exactly where they are in this video. But I believe most public land is archery or gun, unless it's bow only season. I mainly hunt on private family land and a lease that I'm on. I do hunt national forest in other counties if I tag out in my primary county, and I typically only hunt bow on the national forest.

@@texasson most of them are gun or archery but I've found archery only areas on the tpwd map i don't remember if it's in the east though might be in central Texas.
Watching from a mountain in Wyoming. Let’s go boys !
best content ive seen come from east texas - congrats
This video is awesome! Congrats to all you guys and hell of a first buck Eric.
Congratulations to the camera guys, getting it done. Keep em coming.

Turns out there’s a lot more than most people think! It’s just such a small percentage because Texas is *HUGE* !

@@Jefestephens1 million acres, yes, but most of it’s not even walk-in hunting. You have to be drawn.
Good stuff guys!.. I’m going after my first Texas buck also and my first buck ever! Hopefully I can get it done.
Ya those antler restrictions can be annoying, but just remember its in place to help manage age classes in the population (decreases number of young deer harvested so they can have higher numbers of more mature deer)
Man that was awesome 😎
Congrats fellas great job. Is greg shooting an amplify?
Awesome video! Where in East Texas are yall?
Tell me if I'm wrong but weren't these hunts put out last year as well? Great hunts none the less. I like some reruns!
This is a bad ass video
🙌🏼
Great video guys but noticed your carabiner wasn’t locked up in the tree. May want to consider auto locking IMO
Yeah, the restrictions for 13 in wide is kind of weird in my opinion. I get why they're doing it to get more mature deer. But here Missouri for antler restriction is, has to have four points on one side. That makes it a lot easier when trying to quickly make a decision.
Great Video! Maxed out the "Dude"-Meter, though!!!! 😃
Omg Eric!! Was that a duck call??
You need a grunt call lol
I want to see a necropsy on this buck. How the heck did the arrow end up so far back when the shot looked like it was right in the boiler room?
@tray22

I was wondering the exact same. Supposed to be tucking the arrow right up to the leg, but not that one.

Definetly looked way forward compared to that blood

Could have been more forward on the entrance side then hit a rib and ricochet possibly
How do you measure that deer lol
What public you on?
Is bow hunting the only thing going on ? If you really believed you were being shot at would you take your orange off and hunt off the ground ?
niiice!
A lot of public land deer are use to locating people from the sound of you using the grunt are bleat
If he’s outside ears 16 inches
so we just gonna brush past the three shots at you? what the hell do yall think happened, poor sighted hunter, or crazy landowner with a gun?

We believe it was someone shooting on private group carelessly.
No one ever did anything about the shooter? Dude that’s jail time. Clearly meant to scare the kid
Congratulations on the Buck....I know a Good Taxidermist if you're wanting to turn it's antlers into a KeyChain. And as far as the second deer...Great looking Buck...Bet it would field dress out at a whopping 65 lbs.
Didnt know texas had public

In East Texas it's all Public. Because nobody respects private property or boundaries. So to be honest I actually prefer hunting the big tracts of public land that we have because most people are too lazy to go in as far as I will and they are too busy driving and poaching from the roads at night or trespassing to actually put in the work on the public

@@nikolasshay3294 wow. Sounds similar to Michigan where I am from! We have lots of public but tons of trespassing and road hunting. Its a shame

It’s nothing like Michigan. Im from there too - there’s literally 1% of Texas land that’s public in Michigan it’s like a ton more
