No that might have been the previous line -up with Bernie, Neil and little Ian. But this was the last great line up. But there was never quite as much chemistry between Colin and Cozy (though great individually - do check out Colin with Ten Year's After). My Monster's of Rock T-shirt has long ago been put in the rags pile and used to clean floors - but I was there.

I saw that tour in Lausanne on 21 January 1983. Stil have posters and t-shirts... that do not fit anymore :-) What a great time to be a teenager! I must say that I do not think that Cozy was a great fit in Whitesnake. He was too heavy but what a great rock drummer. Colin Hodgkinson is a stunning bass player and I love his work with Back Door, Hammer & Schon and others but again not the perfect fit for WS.

This is my favorite lineup of Whitesnake. I liked the Hairband lineup too and I’m a huge fan of Adrian Vandenberg, but their earlier blues rock sound was better IMO. Most of their later big hits were remakes from the early Whitesnake. Bernie Marsden wrote or co-wrote a lot of their songs.

I have to agree in those days there was great balance nowadays everything is turned up to number 10 and it’s a battle for everything to be heard properly then you have a singer you cannot hear and you just see a guy running about the stage screaming his head off that nobody can discern from the racket going on all around
