Did you know White Sands was a state park and you could drive on the dunes and camp overnight?Congress designed White Sands a National Monument and then later a National park.

Thank you! Directly across from the Sunset Stroll parking area or Alkali Flats would be your best bet--you'll just need to hike out into the dunes a little bit.
