Who Am I?
I am a Management Consultant in real life but in my Bootlosophy channel, I make videos about boots and all things boot-related. This channel posts reviews of boots, unboxing of new boots, and follow-up reviews, and in doing so, may explore the philosophy of the brands from time to time!
I have owned boots for decades, but to be honest I have owned them as functional pieces of footwear. It wasn't until early 2020 when COVID struck that I started online shopping for boots to an obsessive degree. I love the aesthetic of boots and I love finding out more about how they are made. I now own an insane number of boots, and one day I may sell some of them (just not right now).

I'm waiting for these exact boots (well, with the one piece heel stay) to be built. I cannot wait!! This was the video that made my decision to take the plunge...and followed the advice and waited for the 20% off sale!!
Superb review, thanks
This is my favorite boot channel!
Great video Teik; keep up the wonderful content.
I love mine!
Very luxury ❤
Excellent video - you convinced me with your wonderful review and presentation. I really appreciated how you explained the waxed leather process and will consider it now. Thank you so much.
Love the video Tiek. Ty for taking the time to explain in detail.
Great presentation as usual Teik. I have a pair of M1TC in natural CXL that I’m super excited for.
Teik, excellent video. I've just stumbled across your channel! Finally, you have explained the rolled welt stitchdown construction of my MP's that has eluded me. You're a pleasure to listen to, and Morning coffee pairs well with your videos
These are my grail boats as well Teik...thanks for the review!
Thanks for the review! I really like these boots as well. I’ve got a pair in the shopping cart but haven’t been able to hit the pay button.
Excellent review. I just compared the MP Sherman to the Higgins Mill. Both in chromexcel. I ended keeping the Higgins Mill do to better fit and less weight. The shank in the MP bothered my feet and I didn’t know if it would get better after breaking in.
Just ordered a pair of the plain toe MP-M1 natty Chromexcel with Dainite from Domestic Domestic for $476. They were included in the 30% off sale that just ended. Gotta say they're my grail boots and I didn't think I would get them already, but I couldn't pass up that deal.
Sir. Those are a good looking pair of boots. I've had my eyes on this model as well as a few models from Nick's. Thank you very much for this well detailed and informative video. Do you have any boots from Nick's Boots?
Those are some beautiful boots! I ordered my pair through bakers with their holiday sale. 55 last, excited to get these in like 7 months 😅

I'd love a pair of Whites MP, but I'll need to wait until after I move to Norway in a few months 😏
I want these in Black Chromexcel
Turning into my grail boots :)
Love the Commando Chelsea Teik. How would you compare them to Thursday boots sizing?
👍
Thanks for the review! Now I know I will not be buying any Whites boots. ❤
Could you do a video on the aging and Patina of your collection? Thanks!

@@SidW-l4z it’s hard to get too excited about the patina development of most of my boots because the rotation of so many pairs is loooong in between wears! 🤪
I'm disappointed you're not using Australian leather wax for this leather 🙂 Though I have a ridiculous number of boots when it comes to the rough stuff I would always grab a pair of "proper" hiking boots like my Scarpa Delta or Meindl Burma boots. Which is why I struggle to see the purpose of such an overbuilt boot, especially when supplied with a Dainite sole. They won't meet many of the safety standards for work boots, they are not optimal for stuff like mountaineering or hard hiking in snow and ice or deep mud and bog etc. yet they weigh more, cost more and take a long time to break in. Even the arch support can be replicated with off the shelf orthotic insoles (assuming the boot is sized correctly). Something like Grant Stone seems to fit the role of everyday use, heritage style boots better to me . That's not to say that I'll never get a pair 🙂 but they definitely seem to be something you buy with your heart and not your head. BTW, I feel the same about my two pair of Vibergs and they're lighter.

@@Bootlosophy I haven't but I'm UK based. I did buy Australian Leather Wax from Amazon when I was experimenting with lots of products a while back. To be honest, I didn't like it for conditioning and the texture was very sticky and not easy to apply as a wax. It was obviously designed for use in much warmer temperatures than the UK 🙂 However, I think it would make a great wax for re-waxing waxy suede boots. The two best leather conditioners I tried (though there are a HUGE number out there) were Chambers Leather Balsam (from UK) and Rihard Leather Balsam (Germany). Chambers was developed by a company that supplies leather props to the film and TV industry and decided they wanted something better than was readily available. I was also trying many variants containing mink oil and the best I tried for waterproofing and conditioning boots for rough stuff and particularly really wet conditions was the Harkila Mink Oil Leather Care (Finnish). This is definitely not for dress shoes and has a "distinctive" odour when first applied but was obviously developed for hunting in Finland's million lakes and endless bog. These were all available from Amazon.
I have some Alden 405's that have served me well and have a lot of miles, but I really want this boot in Waxed flesh to rotate with them. I know the 55 last is easier on the toe box and not as snug as the MP/Barrie. What size would you get if you wear Alden's in 9.5D?
Was it just me, or did you say that you prefer the two-piece back stay of the Sherman?
Hi Tiekoh. I have a 350 Cutter in a 7D, 55 last. (I'm a 7.7D brannock). It fits pretty good except I feel that the arch is too far back in my heel. I still wear them because my feet get used to them after walking for a while. I'd like to try the MP's in the same size because the heel isn't as high. Being between sizes can make it more difficult to size. Baker's recommends a 7D for me. Thanks for the video. I think the Nicks Americana is chunckier than the MP and the MP looks better. The Nicks Falcon is a fantastic boot too.
I love how these boots look and thinking of getting the commando half-lug version in olive waxed flesh. I have 3 pairs of White’s work boots fully custom, all with Horween waxed flesh and Kevlar stitching. I must say that on my boots, I’m very unimpressed with the consistency of the stitching; especially on the heel counter and vertical stitching of the pull-loop on the back. The spacing is very inconsistent between the 3 parallel rows and seems very rushed or like someone very inexperienced worked on them. All 3 or my pairs are like this. The fact that the tan stitching contrasts the brown leather makes it extremely noticeable. Do you think if I ordered an off-the-shelf pair of these MP-M1’s, the stitching would be better?

Hi thanks for the video. Love the content. I am a little confused, as you say that this MP-M1 uses the 55 last, but as far as i can see from their website it also uses the same MP last as the Shermans? So why the different fit? Am I missing something?

Wow these look so much sleeker than our normal 55 boots. Do they really have toe box counter? Structured 55 toe box would look so...roundish and thicker.

@@Bootlosophy That would make so much sense. They are beautiful boots nevertheless.
I’m trying to figure out which leather conditioner would be best for the cinnamon waxed flesh in restoring them to their original appearance. I heard some conditioners darken the leather. Anyone have suggestions on a good waxy conditioner to restore the original appearance without darken the leather?

The wax is almost black when new, and only when it wears off does that yellow come out. Check out Jimmy's channel - Trinity Handmade, and also Harker's Leatherworks. I'm not sure I'm going to like the yellowness, but let's see.
