If anyone else is in the same position-- I'm wrestling with leaving my plumbing job(well paid, great benefits, etc) for either a straight desk job or military. Anyone else feel just blatantly drained after work every day, and just feel like the work you're doing is killing your body and the money you're making just is not worth it? A desk job just seems so great to just do data entry or some menial bullshit and then have actual energy after work/on weekends/not being on call 7 days a month to go live my life. At least if i blow my knees up in the 82nd or on an option 40 contract I'd feel like it went towards something with some memories attached, not just fuckin fixing some bullshit Glacier Bay popup some customer cheaped out on and wanted me to install.

It depends on the type of person you are and each kind of job has draw backs. For those office jobs, expect mind numbingly boring work, at least at entry level positions. Those entry level positions can be pretty thankless too. Also, a lot of white collar work can seem pointless. I audit employer benefit plans and I go home feeling like I did nothing productive for society. I think as a blue collar worker, you can see the results of your work and you can be proud of that going home. Those are just a few things to keep in mind. Keep asking questions to see if you’d like it. God bless you :)

brother let me tell you something.... military is way less pay. Sense of purpose is high depending on what you do. If you want to do a combat job don't go to the military man your body will be even more destroyed trust me. If you want to try something different something with a sense of purpose or just to spice up the life brother instead of doing military go for police and move onto swat or a gang unit etc... lots of opportunities but I will say if you're looking for a desk job youll be bored out of your mind. If you enjoy being out and working with your hands work will just be work and not your life anymore. something to think about, idk you or your situation brother but if this is the stuff you're into i'd look into it.

@@IllegallyWealthy Valid points, man. It's a lot to think about. Having no college time, all the domestic jobs are tough. Most agencies want at least a two year. I just switched plumbing companies for a better schedule and am going to try to get some schooling in. At minimum i could go police, otherwise i could go attempt officer route in the military. I always felt like I wasnt contributing to anything when the work was abstract. Now as an electrician it feels great to physically seeing something being done

Did u leave an office job for electrical? I graduate with a business analytics degree in December but dread offices. Thinking about going into electrical since I have 0 debt.
I'd rather write an email about a port-a-potty than use a port-a-potty.
That hits close to home. My asks me "how was your day?" "Fine", "what did you do?" "Phone calls and emails".
I’ve brought home thousands in hardware over the years. Like that Johnny Cash song about stealing a car part from the GM assembly line every day to build your own 😂
I felt this💯💯
Working as a farrier now from prior gig doing social work. Hoof trimmings, timothy pellets, hoof knife, hoof pick, money and checks and hay everywhere. Much better to be out and working with critters outside then doing notes and making calls, cant even compare!
Great videos

Trying to let life take me where it's gotta go. I really appreciate the words and thoughts man.
that's why I try to do my own manual labor after sitting in front of computer all day
Don’t forget the random assortment of screw, bolts, slag, nails and other hardware that end up in those pockets on occasion too

Raised on a farm, now I finance equipment for farms. With the way OEM's have raised prices, don't discount us paper pushers, it's not glamorous but we can make more of an impact to a business than you would think. #15yearspushingpaper.
In the past, desk jockeys would walk to & from work. Also, I'm at the age where I would like to do paperwork the last 3 hours of the work day. Instead of feeling stiff all over.
Thats a cool thing about being a human. Theres an ass for every seat. Im blue collar, but i have many friends who are white collar. Im happy where i am, as are they.
I hate working at a day, which sucks because I'm really good at it
Buy Truewerk they got enough pockets and perfectly placed as well 😅if ya know ya know
I've been in the construction industry for 20+ years, busted my butt, blood, sweat and years into working in it, I've spent most of my life away, working long hours and sometimes 7 days a week, and iunno but I've missed so many things doing that work, now I need to learn how to do office work because I go for surgery on my arm because of torn ligament that hasn't healed in a year because I'm still working with it, I've worked in all the elements, so either this guy had the worst office job ever or has the easiest blue collar job, because 99% of people I've met and worked with who are in different industries, all hate working their blue collar job, so could all depend what kind of work your doing.
I am in an office now i feel crazy i am giving calls and writing emails, i feel like i am not working or doing anything

Yep.. I got the same stuff in my pocket..
Also he forgot blue collars also pull 6figs out that same pocket 💯 Get your trade kids
I feel so unbelievably unprepared if I have even one of my items missing from my pockets. Money, phone, keys, knife, and an empty for trash along the way.
I just retired at 53. My point is... nah, no point. I'm just telling everybody. Enjoyed the vid.
You need the AirPods case with a keychain 👌 5 things in each pocket gets heavy with those added these days 👀
I work in an office I unload my pockets, able to wear ear pieces at work. But I would rather own a farm. Though my concern with a farm for a few years at least is where to sell/ how to build a clientele. Or maybe I’m just a chicken… get it lol
I never understood people who dont like to do anything ending up hating a job thats so easy to do and rather be in pain physically later on in life ?
worked at HP after i graduated and hated every minute of it, now i’m a journeyman for the water authority outside everyday work hard and have fun with real people.
They teach you that office work or white collar jobs are fulfilling and too some people they are, but for me I need to be working with my hands and see the results for me to truly feel like I’ve done something.
Dude needs to walk on the treadmill instead of riding a desk chair

It's either emails or spraying poison.
If you add a roll of duct tape we could call you MacGyver
That is why they are called email jobs😅

How are you going to work with nothing in your pockets? You wear headphones as a construction worker but not in an office?

The worst thing is I’m union were treated pretty poorly. Outrageous union dues $300+ a month and we’re a 100 man hall!! No paid holidays not one. We do Saturday and Sunday training for a $50 cheque. Don’t sound very union like does it
Who doesn’t like to walk around with like 9 screwdrivers in your pocket?

This guy is so fucking blue collar he Carries around AirPods. That’s the true measure of blue collar if you have a pocket to keep them clean.😂😂😂
Yes, actually most men just aren't made for office jobs, we need movement. Me, myself currently work in office and I am pretty exausted with it, while my female colegues love it. Now searching for some outside job ...

I find I'm more tired now after my day in the office than I was after a day driving a tow truck.
Blue collar EDC!
Some 2 leggers like being factory farm caged animals. Others prefer being free range organic without all the shots and able to pee / mark their territory where they will. Put the latter in a cage and its going to get messy.
Decent men need to be useful, we can’t live knowing we’re dead weight. Let’s be real anyone spending most of their life in an office is dead weight.
