This video is short and to the point. So many others talked and talked. This was perfect. I just fixed my toilet and didn't know shit to begin with in five minutes.

I can't get the blue ring undone. Is there a knack?I know it has to turn clockwise as if doing up, I don't want to force it. Thanks

I have a Fluidmaster 400, after removing the top piece, turned my water valve back on, but I have very, very little water coming out. I didn't need a cup, hand, or anything. Water barely coming out. Any suggestions? Thank you, John

Keep in mind that “magic seal” he replaced; you can find only for fluidmaster. In the toilet water tank, there is no rocket science BUT all rubber seals made of shit (almost literally) this is why folks dragging their feet to the store again and again.

New va le did not work for me. The seal is deformed which seems to be the one that works. New one doesn’t seal when the level of water rises.

how often do you have to change these generally. Mine lasted 2 years before I had to change it again.

Depends on the water quality in the area. I’m guessing that the seal in my video wasn’t cleaned or replaced for at least 10 years.
@2wheelmac Жыл бұрын
why wouldn't you just change the fill valve... couple bucks more but odds are if the valve seal is going the whole thing is next anyways

Some people aren't comfortable with replacing the fill valve. This is a quick way to solve the problem. Maybe after doing this, they'll have the confidence to do more. 😎

Changing this valve is much easier. I just replaced mine at 3am and no more running toilet! Valve cost was 1.99😑

Disclaimer… I’m not a plumber so follow my advice at your own risk. 😎 Gently lift up the valve arm. If flow stops, adjust the float to turn off sooner. If flow does not stop, 1. Replace the valve seal, 2. Replace the valve cap assembly, or 3. Replace the entire fill valve assembly.

Yeah, mine keeps running 50% of the time. Have to stand there and wait to see if it stops on it's own...😟 Edit: I just put in a new valve. No more running toilet! Thanks Hacker!
