WHISTLER OPENING DAY ON MY 300MM "BOOSTMONSTER" BIKE!

Спорт

Whistler is open! And it's looking a little different this year, I took my 300mm 'Boostmonster' bike and had a blast! It was actually pretty warm out for opening day, but it was still so much fun!
More trail closures than normal, and we had to stuff ourselves in the gondola which was annoying haha!

Big Inverted Forks are my fave. They look so moto. I bought an inverted Mountain Cycles fork in 1994 when your choices were Rockshox or Manitou w 60mm travel. As soon as Marzocchi produced the Bomber I bought one. I always wanted a Shiver but theyre pricey so I bought a DNM inverted long travel elastomer sprung, air dampened fork in 2002 for like 600 bucks new. Love seeing this vintage Freeride project.

Hey Jordan, you inspired me to learn about parts and upgrade an older bike that everyone else thought had put its best days behind it. It's got its quirks, but I've learned a lot about wrenching and I've grown to appreciate things like dropper posts, fast-action hubs, and a proper air fork that a lot of other riders probably take for granted. Thanks for making it okay to ride an older bike, most people scoff when they see something with a shorter reach and 26" wheels but I'm having the time of my life on it.

Yo Jordan! i've got a pretty cool idea for the A-Line. Hope used to make 6 piston brakes, the Mono 6-TI or just the Mono 6. The Mono 6 were the older version. So i thought maybe you could try and get yourself a pair of them and put them on the A-Line to really round the retro style! And i also heard that you can use the new hope levers on the old mono 6-ti calipers. Because the old levers were kinda bad. None the less i think it would be insanely cool if you were to put some cool old retro brakes on the A-Line!

It went together easily in less than an hour. kzread.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.
