Whistler Bike Park Opening Weekend 2024
Спорт
It's my first ever Whistmas!
Nursing a shoulder injury, I rode rather cautiously but had a great time at the opening day of Whistler Bike Park for the 2024 season.

Thanks Sam, that’s nice to hear. A new GoPro with good settings and good audio has made most of the difference. That said this took way too long to make due to the file size so I may have to try shooting in 4k instead of 5.3k and see if my computer can handle it a bit better

Nice vid! Still to make it to Whistler but its on the list, one day soon. Keen to hear your experience on the DVO. Definitely at the top of my list, so your take on them would be appreciated!

I’ve been running the onyx sc and jade x for a couple years now. I’ve only got incredible things to say about them but they are both custom tuned from Jesse at DVO New Zealand for the taniwha’s kinematics, my weight, and riding style, and then the tune is matched on the fork too, so it rides incredible. I also just got them both serviced here in Vancouver so I’m loving life right now😂 The coil off the top into an air spring gives frankly unmatched (to any air fork) small bump sensitivity and the rest is smooth as butter and ramps up wonderfully.

cool dude, i spotted myself in your video.
I've been watching all the Whismas content I can until I get can up for my first day of the season and who do I see halfway through but Alex from Archibald? I was doing a demo ride with him a few hours earlier that morning in North Van. Got my order in, can't wait for my bike to arrive! Cool that you were able to meet up with the whole crew and were already aware of the brand.

Haha that's hectic. Yeah he didn't show up till later in the day. Thats awesome that you got to ride one. Yeah my next bike will be a Zerode katipo or an Archibald. Done love mullet through which sucks. Also waiting until he goes belt drive. No way I'm going chain again. Too many disadvantages over a belt drive.
Archibald Cycles are so sick! Would love to here your thoughts if you get the chance to test ride.
@reubenvandendool

I’ll definitely let you know. I’ll meet up with the guys over the summer a few times hopefully and I told Alex I’d love to test ride one because it’s either one of those or a zerode katipo for my next bike
I enjoyed the video

how are the mavens going? Sick videos by the way, they are good quality.

Thanks! They’re doing pretty good, I did scratch the crap out of them on a little crash that day which kinda sucks. But they’ve been consistent and strong so far, no complaints. I made a review video about them and so far everything seems the same

Gopro 11 black. Will be changing up the settings though cos it was too hard to edit 5.3 k footage. My computer struggled.
how long of a weigh was it for the lift
@reubenvandendool
Ай бұрын
Probably ten minutes from where I joined the line for the opening and for the rest of the day I never waited longer than 3-5 minutes. This new lift eats up the line
how much travel do you have on your bike?

@@BCFreerider 160 is plenty. The trails aren't necessarily more rough or gnarly than other regular trail centres/mountains around, there's just a lot of them.

Those stumps/rocks/roots that grab your pedal and launch you are some of the worst. It feels like you’ve just hit a landmine.
