This whirlpool reminds me of my childhood Lady Kenmore's avocado green version. We could connect it traditional style or to a kitchen sink. That one lasted over a decade and a half of hefty usage.

This machine and the Lady Kenmore were great compact washers. Though the tub was small it could hold as much as a full size machine and still made a good rollover. The spin rpm was pretty fast too large load would come out almost dry

Hi Robert hope you’re doing well. I decided to re-hook it up because it’s been a few months since i used it and I actually did laundry in it today. I did a load of colors and then some towels. Still works like a charm so I hooked it up again to the drain and to the hot water and the cold water and I said the hell with it I’ll use it every now and then just to keep it working, it’s a piece of history.

I think Pat this is back in the day when the engineers used their brains and were not told to save money. The dryers that matched these washers were 110 volts so the washer spinning faster got out more moisture so the dryer could handle it within a reasonable amount of time.

At least these two portable washers (belt drive and direct drive) you can watch with the lid open. With my Estate direct drive the lid switch is hidden so I can only peak while it’s agitating, draining or spinning so it won’t do any of those with the lid fully open so that’s an advantage of early 2000s washers and older
