Whill this Whizzer Whork? Or Whon't it?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

A Whizzer is an old-timey motorized bicycle, and I try to make it run again. Whatch and see!

Data tag located on the head tube . Not criticizing , only helping with your bicycle frame part nomenclature . Edited to add ; Thank You so much for sharing this magical part of history . I've known about whizzers for several decades yet have never seen one in person . This is a beautiful example . Ive assembled several china doll kits and i feel they are very inferior to this machine . I really did enjoy watching this video . I hope you create many fond memories with this machine . Thanks again .

I appreciate the clarification! I readily admit my bicycle knowledge is somewhat lacking. I never knew Whizzers existed until seeing this one - it was fun researching it's history and the history of motorized bicycles in general.

The reflectors and telescopic tube forks were my dead give away that it was a later one.

I had one when I was about 14. That would have been around 1957. I was pretty sure it was a 2 stroke, but not positive. I didn't know a whole lot about mechanical things back then. I do remember that the engine locked up on me and it could have been because I didn't put oil in the gas. It was just a kit that I put on my Schwinn Tank type bicycle.

I missed out on the whole add-a-motor to your bike, my first was an actual motorcycle. Used to ride my cousin's Honda Dream then I got a Yamaha 125.

Do you think that took him back to his childhood somehow? What a cool thing, but no, it's another hole in the head! Fun video, especially with the backstory.

Beats me, maybe. I'm hoping it will take some other lucky person back to his childhood though!

Will do. The shop is buried in Firebird parts right now, I'll be able to finish the Whizzer as soon as I free up some working space.

i bought my first moped brand new in 2006. i hate to say it but i dont think this thing is worth anything. little bikes like that were really popular at that time and theyre a dime a dozen. maybe worth a few hundred bucks. just my opinion i may be wrong! edit: i got my second moped in 2011 and it was a pepboys honda knockoff and it was amazing and that's when i learned all these little china motors are cheap and wonderful. so i think your whizzer is a generic pepboys moped trying to cash in on nostalgia with cheap taiwan parts.

It's probably not worth as much as a true original Whizzer but it has some value to the right person.
