@@bobbyb7979 Even though it happened long before I lived, I've sometimes wondered, as I think many Americans have, how our country would have gone if Lincoln had survived the Civil War to oversee Reconstruction. I hope Ukraine is more fortunate than us, in the end. I do think Zelensky might be that kind of leader: like Lincoln, the kind a country gets once or twice in its history if its lucky (and Lincoln, also, had a sense of humour in dark times). I hope future events do not prove me wrong.

The best politicians started as non-politicians. In fact ALL politicians started as non-politicians. I have never seen a birth announcement saying - Gave birth to a bouncing baby politician. Seeing a politician in a human moment reminds us their humanity is an essential link to their ability to be a good leader, at least in a free and democratic nation. Previous to the current situation I had no idea who Zelenskyy was. Almost everything I've heard and seen has shown him in a positive light. I have read a few biting comments about him, mostly sarcastic opinions about his past lifestyle and lack of political experience. I'm trying to keep an open mind about him but he really does seem to be what he appears to be! I fervently hope Ukraine wins this war under Zelenskyy's leadership. At this point, I couldn't give a fudge what his background is (political or otherwise), his conduct since the outbreak of this war tells me all that I need to know! @Luck Key Date of video: March 2022. He's wearing khaki instead of a suit, and attracting the attention of English speaking journalists, very few of whom had any interest in Ukraine before the war. All the leaders he mentioned: Duda of Poland, Macron of France, Johnson of UK, and the Baltic states have had major involvement with Ukraine since this war began. Looks up to date to me.

He used to be literally our best and funniest comedian and he became famous in all post soviet countries in a soviet comedy show already in the 90s as a student. Then he and the same team founded their own ukrainian show where they were making fun of corrupt políticians. Then more comedy shows where he was CEO, he was also the best dancer in another show and an actor. And after that TV series "The servant of the people" where he played a simple teacher who became a president overnight. The people liked the TV series but when he surprised everyone that he will be a president at New Year night it was a sensation 😍

I've seen some comments that he shouldnt laugh with his possition in times like that. Well I think that's opposite. This is a massive boost to morale for many Ukrainian people. I also think there is something not matching with what media tells the world....

Zelenskyy knew very well when this war started that his chances of survival were not great if he stayed in Ukraine. In spite of that when he was offered to be taken in by western countries he decided to stay with his people, and to continue to serve them. Only in extraordinary circumstances do we find out who among us is a hero, and he has certainly become one in my book. I hope the sacrifices he is making will inspire people around the world to do the right thing even when doing the right thing is the hardest option. Thank goodness Ukraine is faring much better than expected/projected at the start of this war. May there soon be peace, and may he and his family, and the Ukrainian people be safe. ☮️

He knew very well that Ukrainians will stand for their home. And he was inspired by that unity of the country. I do not think he really expected his life was in danger except for several days at the start of the war. He knew what our army can and will do. Our army are the true heroes! Zaluzhniy, commands Ukrainian army, and he is only 48! The world didn’t believe we have a chance. But our army did every possible thing to save the country. Our people knew that we have no other choice but to be strong and united. Otherwise, anyone of us can be killed on the phony pretext of ‘denazification’. It is a question of existence, so of course you choose to at least try to do everything you can to survive and then just hope.
