Dune 3 is one of the most popular synth plugins out there. Also, when you try the sounds, use the Mod Wheel. They make a big difference. Also, realize that Dune has 8 different layers. That means that there are 8 different synths in one plugin. Also, two ARPS, 4 MSEGS, 3 LFOs, and two effects chains. It is probably my favorite synth right now. Check out the manual and some tutorials. Heat Up 3 is a ROMpler that is really targeted at hip hop producers. It looks like it was based on Nexus 2. A completely different beast than Dune 3. Kontakt is something that you may want to check out if you really want sample playback. Tons of options with the full version, plus you can create your own custom samples.

I own both of them but I wouldn't put them in the same category. Heat Up 3 should be compared with Nexus 4 since they're both Romplers and don't synthesize sounds but use samples. Heat Up 3 is excellent for beat makers in Urban music, Trap, Hip Hop etc. It's more affordable than Nexus but can give you just as much if you buy a package with expansions. Dune 3 however is a beast of a synth that can create almost every imaginable type of synthesized sound. I would only compare it with VPS Avenger and Omnisphere because of the 8 layers. It sounds awesome and can go from subtle to monstrous depending on your sound design skills. You can't go wrong with either one or both of them.

Bro, Dune 3 is massive, it's a huge difference.

Heat up is not a synth, it's a ROMpler.

Dune 3 seems more suited to Edm. Heat up is a hip hop Rompler.

I have Synapse Audio Obsession plugin, very good emulsion on Obrahim OBXA and am going to buy there Ledgend plugin, very good emulsion of Minimoog. Synapse audio make excellent presets.

Just some feedback for you. Heat Up 3 is a Rompler and Dune 3 is a Soft Synth so you are comparing things that are totally different from one another. Good video but if your comparing and contrasting then Nexus 3 Vs. Heat Up 3 would be more compareable in terms of which is better as they are both Rompler plug ins. Keep grinding my brother!

I appreciate your words, brother and I am completely aware that they’re different from one another. For my #WVIB series, I focus on what we can use them for rather than focusing on what they actually are. They have one thing in common: they create sounds as in assisting us with our music creation process. Sometimes, I ask: if you had to choose, regardless of what kind of products they are, “which one would be better for you?”. That is all. Comparing a synth with a rompler doesn't make much sense to me. Dune (or any other modern synth like Serum, Vital, Diva, etc) can make all the sounds of the rompler you showed, especially given they sounded pretty simple, while the inverse is not true. With a synth, you design sounds, with a ROMpler, you choose ready made sounds. The synth can also make far more complex sounds, at the cost of more skills. Also, just on this video, I can hear that Dune sounds much more meaty than Heat up by default.

There’s another video I made explaining my decision to choose these two. You can use both of them to create music, which is what unites them even though they are separate items and people are more focused on what they are than what they can accomplish. Producers utilize them in wildly varied ways. Comparable to attempting to decide what to have for supper. Do you like pizza or Chinese food more, someone could ask? Even though these two types of food are consumed in very different ways, they are contrasted in a way that benefits the consumer.

Heat up 3 take up so much space on my cpu dune 3 doesn't!

Do you use an external hard drive to store all of your sounds and expansion packs? To save space, I have all of my sounds on an external hard drive and only my VSTs on my computer.

Well, apparently, you must know everything because it's an opinion of mine. The reason I said that is because I don't see many people mentioning D3 as a popular plugin or talk about it at all. It doesn't even make the list of top or most talked about plugins from online music magazines and forums. Do you expect me to believe that if I mention any plugins that are unknown to some, you'd probably think I'm crazy for saying that? Not everyone knows every single thing. I even had someone mentioning that they've never heard of Heat Up 3 until they saw my video but I guess they don't know anything about plugins, right? I mean you obviously don't have much of an understanding of every person in this world that makes music because that would be impossible to do so, unlike you. Thanks for watching though
