Which pan do you need? Jacob breaks down the differences between the upper engine oil pans for the 6.7L Powerstroke.

These pans are all inspected before shipment to insure proper oil tube machining clearance. A known issue with these pans.
If you have the late 2014-2019 model years the original pan did not have a gasket at the sealing surface. These pans more likely to develop a leak and not properly seal. We recommend using this pan with the gasket for all model years 2011-2019.
For model year 2011 you must also update the oil cooler to part HC3Z-6A642-A. Original 2011 oil cooler can not be used with this pan.

Scuff the flat contact sealing surfaces where you put the silicone with a 100 grit or so sandpaper, just like paint silicone needs some teeth to bite into and hold. Use a torque wrench on all the bolts. From what I've seen Ford under tightens a lot of their fasteners. Also make sure all the dowel pins are good and in place. I've heard some of these leaks are related to the parts shifting under driveline torque. After all the pan does bolt up to the bellhousing mating surface.
I would like to think FORD took all the bad pans out of it's inventory. However, after conversing with a local service writer at a FORD dealership, I don't think information flows very far at FORD. This should have been at minimum a TSB if not a full blown recall. Anything to save a buck. Ford hopes the warranty expires before the leaks start.
Used 7.3 diesel silicone on the pans and I'm not talking about the Motorcraft stuff I'm talking about the international gray 442a made by wacker
thank you
Use the older silicone not the newer silicone sealant from motorcraft for the gasket.
Would absolutely love to have a gasket upper pan available for my 22 6.7 when it inevitably starts leaking. I hate using silicone, and do not want to have the truck in the shop multiple times due to ford wanting to save some machining time and not use an actual gasket.

2020 and up use a gasket, still can leak however.... but not as dramatic as the 2015-2019 sealed w RTV. Especially in back right corner near oil filtrer (HP oil passage into block). Numerous pics of seepage there.....

@@richardhenthorne8399 For me looking at the periphery of the 3 here, it seems only the 1st pan seals the whole unit with a gasket...

@richardhenthorne8399 11 and early 12 are the only ones with an oring gasket pan, better imo except the gasket gets brittle and ends up leaking but that's more around 200-300k from my experience. I don't care what ford says something changed with quailty of their o rings
What is the BC3Q-6676-FA and bc3q-6675-eg part numbers?
When do you think you might have these back in stock to order?
So what about the aftermarket stuff?
I had the leak on my 19 around 90k. Ford fixed it. So what is said in this video I'll get it again in time.

@@mightyfinger77 it's the newer one ford came out with.
I don’t see them on the site
Why did they stop putting the O ring on the the 18 up ?

I never heard/read an official response but everting points toward money. It takes time to machine an o-ring groove and it cannot be cast.
money money money
