Shai has the least amount of weaknesses being an elite efficient 2way player, who is clutch. He could work on his playmaking, but it’s not weak it only looks like that if you compare it to elite playmakers. The Thunder offense doesn’t require him to be that. He could work on his pull up and step back 3 but he doesn’t rely on it. In these playoffs he has shown he can be the best player on a championship team by being the best player in a series against the team that went to the finals. He is the most complete player out of his peers game wise. If you’re talking about resume you can’t compare that he came from a completely different situation. He was traded after his rookie season as a role player to a rebuilding team not even looked at as the primary building piece but he had to prove himself and has grown every season. He was All NBA 1st team back to back, All star, then All star starter, came 2nd in MVP.

FUN FACT! Jayson Tatum these playoffs had a WORSE jump shooting % than Giannis had this entire season 😂. I agree jump shooting is a weakness of his but brother tried to push half-court offense like the Bucks aint have mid chemistry and held a top 5 or so offense and him coming off the first ever 30 PPG on 60% FG while being an ELITE playmaker at the PF position 😂

Luka just played 70 games in a season averaging 37.5 minutes per game. That's 2nd in the league after DeRozan (37.8). In the playoffs, out of all the players to play more than one round, he's 2nd in mpg at 40.9 (!!!) just behind Josh Hart (42.2). All of this while having to carry the WHOLE Mavs offense AND while being targeted time and time again on defense. Oh, and let me remind you, he's played these whole playoffs with a clear knee injury. I don't understand how everybody was making excuses for Ant while he was visibly gassed at the end of games but Luka, who could very well keep scoring buckets down one end and making defensive plays down the other, gets battered for it. It's plain biased and narrative-following. You can punt him for chirping to the refs and getting his head out of games, for not being a great defender (he's not a bad defender), but not for not being in shape. Literally nobody else is held at that standard, not even Jokic

I think shai’s biggest weakness is size. What the mavericks did to get PJ washington going was post up shai because they had lu dort on luka and jdub on kyrie so shai HAD to be on one of the wings and they would post up shai and get easy buckets off him, he’s not that strong of a POA defender to put him on small guards but he wasnt big enough to really prevent the wings being put on him from getting abused. So for shai i’d say size

I think that's a fair criticism, but idk if the Clippers series is the best evidence for it simply because it was very evident that he was way more hesitant to drive than he was in the regular season, likely because of the knee injury. I do think he is prone to shooting way too many threes when they just aren't falling or they could run an action tho.

From what I've seen of Luka, he takes a lot of tough shots, but he actually had very good efficiency on them in the regular season. I'm not sure that the settling comes from being tired as much as it is just trying to force those shots to get in rhythm when they aren't going down.

Hee one of the best defenders itl. Advanced stats love jimmy. He routinely beats leads lesser teams to ECF and finals runs. You can't sit here and tell me tatum is a superstar with no question and then say jimmy isn't when jimmy plays just as good if not better than tatum every postseason

KD just needs an actual team around him nothing about his play has shown he can’t be the best player on a championship team. It’s always an outside factor the coach, an incompetent organization, injured teammates , players landing on his knee (Jimmy Butler).

How anyone gonna try to fight defense is a weakness for Luka? This weird insistence that Luka's defense was not just flat-out bad, and that's being kind, in the Finals is just nitpicking and ignoring what we all saw. It was really bad.

I hate how we judge players who haven’t had proper help. I’ve been saying this for years . Lebron needed wade to win. Kobe needed Shaq to win. Lukas best teammate has been an older kyrie. Even if you look at Jokic; that’s a perfectly built team for him. Luka needs help.
