Honestly I had no idea that some people made their shwarma with Fries. Where I'm from, it is made with mostly spicy chicken and some vegetables like onions but there are less vegetables when compared to other countries

Recently tried out both. Shelby's bread was amazing and beats out Tahini's, but both places had great chicken and veggies. I recommend the Jerk Chicken Shawarma at Tahini's, the sauce was great. Shelby's gets a 9/10, and Tahini's gets an 8.7/10. Wish they had locations in Mississauga, theres too many shitty shawarma spots here right now, and too many disappointing meals almost killed my appetite for shawarma in general. Its great seeing these new guys set a new standard for quality.

Thanks for your video.. Every day, I learn about new shawarma places. So far, Yassen and Aljazeera are at my top list, but i'm still interested in trying other spots. I never considered Lazeez and Osmou's as an authentic shawarma spots. it's a Frenchise business chains mainly target customers with minimum experience of middle eastern food. And that's not any different than staff working behind the counter. Mostly international students and sometimes vegetarians too. That could be ok but not for me when it comes to find well balanced tasty shawarma wrap 😊 i will try to get to those couple of stores you mentioned.. thanks

In Turkey chicken and meat wraps like these are served mostly with seasoned onions, tomatoes, parsley and sumac. We call it Tablacı salad and it’s wonderful with wraps like these.

One thing I like about Tahini's is they got some unique shawarmas you can't find anywhere else and that's a butter chicken, baconiser and Jamaican jerk shawarmas

Chicken, pickles and toum is what an authentic shawarma is. I love the new mixes and how everyone changes upon shawarma but every restaurant should provide the authentic experience first

@@awsan111it also depends which country you’re having it from. Lebanese differs from Syrian which differs from Egyptian which differs from Turkish. Each country has their own variation which uses different ingredients.

The most delicious, authentic chicken Shawarma that I have ever had was at Noor's Shawarma and Variety, London, Ontario. The ingredients were fresh, and the Fatoush salad was delicious. Long live Middle Eastern foods!

I'm from middle east I just traveled to Canada for me tahinis is a bit better cuz the thin chicken is better than big chunk it doesn't overpower ur shawarma and there pickles are so good the wrap is tight and good same for Shelly's but there pickles are alot salty wich may overpower the shawarma the friez are fresh but the taste of it i feel it more in my mouth and for the spice levels tahinis hot sauce is really good and spicy doesn't overpower the shawarma and gives really good taste for Shellby the hot suace is good but I think tahinis like a bit better they're both really good restraunts to eat from tahinis has more shawarmas and food like Jamaican jerk shawarma or Habibi bowel they create food Shellbys has food but not that much well I like Shellbys and tahinis both are rlly good restaurants and I think they will improve more. @goldengully idk if by tabouleh you meant the onion sumac parsley tomato mix that is added to beef shawarma, but, i am here to clear smth out, and that is that tabouleh is a salad which is made with chopped parsley, diced onions and tomatoes, topped with olive oil and burghul soaked in lemon juice.

yeah and @GoldenGully as i said before the vegetable mix is added to beef shawarma ONLY. cause the beef is usually a bit fatty so it needs smth to cut down the fat, but the chicken on the other end has a weaker taste and less fat so no vegetable mix is added

I've tried both, I can confirm that Shelby's is better. Tahini's is better for someone that likes a soft juicy wrap, while Shelby's gets the delicious charred bread and authentic shawarma flavour.

Both are very good actually, wouldnt call one better than the other at this point considering the quality, but one thing that really bothers me is how Shelbys uses sriracha as their hot sauce lol 1. Sriracha is asian and goes on asian food best, the flavor profile is bad on shawarmas. 2. Normally they should use a richer hot sauce like a harissa type sauce that blends in better with the meat and tahini. The sriracha is the lazy choice but everything else about Shelby's is good. Hope they come up with their own in-house hot sauce soon ! As for Tahini's i wasn't a fan of the parsley but everything else was good. Here in Montreal we got Boustan which is the only "decent" shawarma joint since Amir is basically garbage and Basha is ghetto tier and both really went downhill in the last 10 years.
