This is almost too perfect; recently, I’ve actually been making Pokemon teams for my favorite cartoon protagonists throughout my childhood and adulthood (no legends, mythicals or ultra beasts). Ludicolo came to mind as it’s shaped like a pineapple. Alolan Exeguttor, Tentacruel, Gastrodon, and Gigantamax Kingler (I was referencing the species some of the characters btw). And Grapploct is an octopus that can fight. Honorable mentions were Avalugg, Starmie, Wailord, Palafin, and Wugtrio.

here were my dream teams for spongebob characters I liked pre gen 9. sponge: water as main typing, but variety for coverage. Ludicolo as starter, Lucario, Blazican, Lapras, Togetic (friendly personality,) Samurott. patrick: Starmy (1, starfish, and a good cover if sponge wanted to use blazican against him for both water and Psychic coverage,) Corsola, Gollem, Relicanth, Rillaboom, Dreadnagh, (Gigantamax.) also in rematch, he could swap out for Tyranitar, Agron, Solrock. Squidward: Lurantis, Decidueye, Octillary, Esbeon, Smeargle: artist. Krabs: Cloyster, Kingler, Shuckle, Mawile, Clampearl (if he didn’t trade,) Cryogonal. Sandy (perfect posibilities as she can do land, air and sea coverage, so perfect variety trainer.) start: Gligar, Quagsire, Lucario, Steelix, Excadrill, Flygon. rematch: stunfisk, Skarmary, Talonflame, Crobat, Flygon, Garchomp. I’d put flygon and garchomp as her 2 ground aces when she means business. maybe in tournament play or other areas, for her fighters, I thought Breloom, Conkelder, MaChamp. Pearl (only trainer with a legendary ace,) Whalord: whale of course, Lanturn, Lapras/MisMagius (had a hard time choosing, both could use good vocal based attacks like sing or perish song, but I also thought she should have something that she could use mean look, so only she could switch out last turn if she used perish song, while the trainer attacked, and she’d shoe in a win after the timer hit 0,) Exploud: ears like loudspeakers, and matches her rocking/music personality, Kiogar. start would be normal, rematch she goes primal. other things she could use: Melloetta (another music personality pokemon,) Altaria for sing and another good strong dragon, Walrain for size and coverage. Plankton: mix of normals and legendaries. Shiftree, Salaminice, Hydragon, Groudon, Dialga, Yveltal. having a hard time for Mrs. Puff though. I thought for inflatables, Quillfish and Swallot.

if you’re talking sponge as a champion, I’d also give him Karen’s ace, however mega form. others I could see, gary having Accelgor or Escavlier, or in champion defense, he could take after sponge by having a Volcarona. pearl in champion defense should have Kiogar primal. I thought Sandy could also have Torose as an ace, since that could sort of rep her TX side, that, or Rapidash. however, if she wanted to go all business, I thought for her land side, she could also use either Flygon or Garchomp as ace. pat in champion should rep his rock typing with somebody like Aerodactyl, Tyrantrum or Tyranitar. if I were to play spongebob as a champion, I’d like the variety balance, however, give him 2 powerhouse average, meaning none of the special added equipment, then his last for should be a pokemon with each effect item for each gen. so 1 mega, 1 z move, 1 max pokemon, and his final as a terrastrialize.

I think the Flying Dutchman should have diftloom or Mrs. Puff should have a Diftloom too. Spongebob should get a Ludicoco too because it does look like a pineapple and Mr. Krabs should have got Gimmighoul and he could also evolve it and have a Gholdeongo. Loudred would be fitting for Squidward because it has music just like his clarinet and it can be loud and blow music. And Sandy should get a Lucario or a Machamp.
