Wayne Rooney talent wise is the 2nd best united of the last 40 years behind Ronaldo. Commands respect what a player talent wise probably best of the pundits even over Henry maybe.

Rooney saying it how it is. Of course pundits have to show a level of respect and professionalism to the players regardless of who they play for etc, but this guy was an absolute monster and deep down knows that irrespective of how the club is being ran, 80% of them players are no where near good enough to compete for trophies. That team is sitting exactly where it should be in terms of ability- top ten at best.

Wayne breath of fresh air in the pundits. He is just quick and honest no filter on it!

It’s going to be difficult to get rid of some of these players. The ones they cannot sell should be sent on basic construction courses to form the most expensive maintenance team in the premiership. They can then fix the roof problem and do any other odd jobs around the place.

There are no players at Man Utd over 32 that earn over 100k, regardless of games played. There are four who are 30+ earning 100k plus. Maguire, Eriksen, Casemiro, Varane. Varane has confirmed he will leave. It has been widely reported Eriksen will be allowed to leave if another club will offer some money for him. Maguire would have been sold last year if he had not refused West Ham's offer of wages. With only one year left on his contract i suspect he will be sold if a replacement can be found. The SPL is reportedly prepared to offer up to 25M for Casemiro and are the only option for him who will pay what he currently gets.

BUT he says its not his fault that players, albeit even if they have a history, get injured and so called expert ex players allow him to repeatedly use this excuse. EVERY team has injuries, but some clubs try to avoid injury prone players, other clubs/managers manage the player properly to try and avoid injuries.

The big one for United is the keeper issue , for the best part of 33 years they had a keeper who was in the bracket of top 5 keepers in the world give or take a few stop gaps , look at Liverpool after Allison arrived they became a top European team , like Chelsea with Cech , you build from your keeper in football nowadays and unfortunately Onana isn't good enough to be a top drawer keeper

At United this season only Amad, Bruno, Mainoo, Martinez and Dalot raise the level of the team. All of the rest are good players who if you put them in established teams where everyone else is already well disciplined they will perform well. The perfect example is Jadon Sancho. There’s no denying the talent the guy has but he needs a team where every single player is performing at a world class level to show his own qualities. Yet when he got dropped into a United team that thrived on vibes (under Ole) and one that was in the midst of learning a new system he offered very little.

This is not a one-window job. Will take at least 4 windows.

Amrabat; Varane; Martial and Eriksen for sure are out. Evans don't see getting a new contract. Pellistri will be sold. Shaw; Maguire; Lindelof; Antony; Mount; Malacia; Sancho maybe Wan Bassaka to try and sell. Would be good to sell Rashy but not sure any takers at the price and wages. Problem is getting the sales done in time to bring in new so expect some to stay that should be gone

Realism is the key with players on big contracts they ain’t going anywhere fast it’s going to take time probably 4/5 years and they have to accept that get the young players in improve the culture and see where it gets them.

I'm a Liverpool fan but I have to say that these 3 were absolute world class quality players.... Rooney & Cole as a partnership up front would have been devastating for any opponent... The only player I would keep at United would be the very talented Mainoo - what a player this lad is!!!!

Poor Maguire just can't catch a break with the MU fans haha...he's definitely done better than any of these others after he got through the Greek nightmare period. I still think he's class with the right partner. Lindelof and a broken, twilight Varane (who I love) aren't dream material for a partnership.

@@shadow_realm47 out of position? sancho played as a rw and lw and never performed. he had maybe 2-3 good games for dortmund in 4 months and earns WAY too much to keep him. i was a huge van de beek supporter, but he never made it. not for united, not for everton and also not for frankfurt right now. so why keep him?

But they bought players for a lot of money and it didn't work out. Now you want to sell players like Varane, Rashford or Casemiro because they didn't perform. However, how should they perform well when the environment of the club isn't good and supportive for the players.

Varane is already going out. Casemiro is not worth the big wages anymore and it would be a greal deal for United if they could sell him for 50+ mill to Arabia. Rashford doesnt care about the club doesnt even want to perform

Shaw, Martinez, Martial always injured Shaw and Martinez both came back for a couple jolly games after Xmas before they went on there early summer holiday

(Need 1 world class midfielder- Casimero is passed his best) Attack: Sancho (convince to stay), Antony (squad player), Rashford, Amad Hojlund, Ganacho Need: Get Greenwood back 😂 Basically, squad isn’t as bad as people think. Was destroyed with injuries, a few signings who are consistent players could make a huge difference.

Bruno, Martinez Onana. The only senior players I’d keep. Sell the rest. Would probably activate amrabat release clause aswell as a squad player only not first 11.

Bruno is 29. Sell if a good offer comes in. That's what Madrid would do. You don't keep players until they rot and then you can't get anything for them. Sell Rashford, Wan-Bissaka, maybe Bruno, and then a bunch of others. Bring in Joao Neves, new left back (Shaw isn't going to stay fit), Leny Yoro, Antonio Silva from Porto, and a few other promising young CB's. Secure a new striker to help lead the line. It's not that complicated, really. A lot of these moves needed to be made last summer tbh.

I agree in general but not the Bruno comment. He's worth any penny. Hardly gets injured. We can gradually replace him in a couple seasons but it shouldn't be a swap this or next season. Bruno is 80% of our squad creativity. You sell him or swap him and I guarantee the manager gets sacked that season

The main comment made was that Madrid would sell their players if a good offer comes in. By that logic they should’ve sold modric & kroos as they’re pushing past their mid 30s. However, they kept Modric & Kroos, why? Because they’re still performing at a high level. So he’s saying we (Man Utd) should keep Bruno (or any player) for as long as he’s performing well, it’s not about good offers coming in, we need them for as long as they can serve at a high level, just like Madrid are doing with Kroos and Modric. Hope that clears it up 😊

Ten hag in, but We still need to sell 8 players, mctom Harry Ericsson linderlot, and so on, bring in 5,6 better players, cb st lb lw 2 cm fingers crossed 🎉🎉

I'm not a Utd fan, but I grew up watching the old true Utd. Those 3 right there especially Rooney apitomised what Utd used to.stand for!!! None of the current batch are good enough compared to.what this club achieved over the last 20 years. Yes the youth are promising, but it shows gow bad its got when kids are showing grown men how to play football!! I doubt any could get to.the level that Rooney got too.but he was an exceptional talent!!! I do believe that the youth can take the club forward but they are going to need the right guidance and experienced players to help them progress to the next level, just how keane did for the class of 92.

To get the mix right you need a proper structure behind Ten Hag to get recruitment done right. The glazers have done so much damage - a structure that plays 80 odd million for a 28 million player, get Evans in instead of kim min jay, has a medical dept so unfit for purpose that there have been 70 odd injuries. Those injuries are why they are eighth. No fit centre halves at points - eigth is bloody miracle. No one going to mention that this "worst united side" is on the same points at Newcastle and Newcastle have not had any where near the injuries or problems Ten hag has? Ten Hag has brought youth on (well) and got to three finals. Ten hag in.

I agree with most of what you're saying and want Ten Hag to be given more time, but Newcastle did actually have tons of injuries this season as well so wouldn't really use that as an argument. It was a poor league campaign by all accounts, yes heavily hampered by injuries, but we must demand better and Ten Hag needs to achieve progress next year.

The coach that had a very successful first season considering the team. Then one of the worst seasons in the premier league era coincides with the worst injury records to the starting lineup, their backups and the reserves? So it shouldn't be a surprise how things have turned out. Getting to the FA Cup final under those conditions is on par with Mou's 2nd place being his biggest achievement and Mou's was under comparably lesser constraints. No idea if ETH is the right man going forward, but it's hard to judge considering everything that has happened these last two seasons. He's hardly had a fair go of it.

Chelsea have had more injuries than us this season, potchs first season and they’re above us, we’ve had the 4th most injury’s in the league. Ten hag is factually United a worst ever premier league manager, he’s not the man

@@fullclipzzz1278 What is this point? Chelsea have had a bad season too, likely for the same reason. They're only 3 points above us, considering their squad depth on paper. ETH has managed in England for 2 years now and he has more trophies than in Poch's 8 years managing in England. You can make any point you like, doesn't change the fact that both these managers can hardly be judged considering how catastrophic their injuries have been.

I agree with Wayne. I would also keep Evans for his experience and as the fifth CB. And if a big offer comes in for Bruno, I will sell him, too. And if he goes, please bring ETH with him.

I wouldn't hire any of them to be United's next manager but I really do appreciate how much they care about the club. They picked their words carefully but told the truth.

Honestly, the need for a complete overhaul is overstated. The summer business should be very simple. Forget any ideas of moving loads of players on, its not happening and you're just setting selves up for disappointment. release: Martial Varane Williams renew: Evans (squad rule tick and on the coaching pathway) Heaton (as above) sell: Greenwood (off field issues make it a no brainer) Sancho (he doesn't want to be at Utd, doesn't have the mentality for it) buy: David Raum (one of the best left backs in the Bundesliga, good going both ways. Great record free from injury) Jonathan David (good striker, many years ahead a bit further on in development than sign on free: Ndidi (Dm class at Leicester for years) Hermoso (Left footed CB who can also play at left back) Those transfers give a 25 man squad which fits the PL squad rule. Next season you decide which one out of Maguire and Lindelof to keep, then you sign Todibo from Nice if he's still coming along well and Lewis Ferguson, whos move to a big club will be delayed a year due to his injury, to replace Eriksen.

Agree..keep maguire as he's shown heart & desire to give it all whenever he's come on, regardless. Move on lindelof & varane from defence. Branthwaite is a great prospect, but the owners need to keep in check the costs as regarding the PSR, otherwise hefty fines & points deductions. It's not easy to rebuild a squad, let's see how ineos approaches the mess of years of poor recruitment. Sell greenwood, sancho & even rashford.

Definitely Keep: Dalot, Martinez, Fernandes, Mainoo, McTominay, Diallo, Garnacho, Hojlund Give em a chance: Onana (Error prone but shown he's capable too), Bayindir, Kambwala, Eriksen, Hannibal, Mount, Pellistri, Forson, Sancho, Wheatley Last chance/Rotation Options: Heaton, Evans, Malacia, Shaw, AWB. Bin off/Let Expire: Lindelof, Maguire, Varane, Amrabat, Casemiro, DVDB, Antony, Martial, Rashford (Reason why I'm giving so many a chance, focus on those who have to go THIS SUMMER first, that's 9 players in my list, you can't realistically replace more than that in one window, it's too many players to settle in, and see what works)

Imo out of the current squad, the only players I would prefer to keep are Garnacho, Mainoo, Hojlund, Dalot, Fernandes, Onana and *maybe* Mount. The rest I wouldn't be upset if we sold them
