Which Platform is the Best for Selling LEGO Sets?
One of the most common questions I get from LEGO investors and LEGO re-sellers is which platform is the best to sell LEGO sets? In this video we are looking at 8 platforms, most of which I have some experience selling on. My goal from this video is to help you identify which selling platform fits you the best.
I also mention District as one of the options. If you are interested in exploring the Jake's Bricks District you can do that here: district.net/jakesbricks

Hey there are dudes do this full time and I am far from that ha
I love videos like this. The other youtubers I listen to focus a lot on the buying part, so its amazing to see updated videos on selling.
Dude thank you! This was ridiculously helpful
Bricklink FTW!

Great place for all things LEGO. Terrible interface IMO
Would you ever do a video on the topic of the “BrickLink Designer Program”? Such as which ones have sold the most, when is the right time to sell, buy to sell, ect? Love the content! Keep it up!
Great video 👍 I signed up for district. I have a 10x10 storage unit of sets going back to 2014. Any advice on using your platform??
When I'm looking for legos online I often shop on ebay cause alot of peopl sell sets at discount if they remove figures and uthers cell brick and figure grab bags lots with random figs and pieces. This works great for me cause everything I build is modified in some wzy. I mis figures for my oene idias and modify sets to my likeing.
With eBay, the fees are even worse now that USPS has gotten rid of certain cheap shipping options. Between a totally glutted reseller market and problems like these, making real money on eBay reselling sealed retired Lego is very difficult. And while you can resell certainly highly desirable used sets easily there, obviously the more a set sells for, the more Ebay is going to take from the sale.
Hey Jake, this is great! Can you now do one on packaging/boxing and shipping etc? 📦 🙏
Hey man, I now only sell on StockX because EU. Would love to try out District once in EU.
The District is great, i look forward to selling on there Jake, once it comes to my neck of the woods the UK.

@@jasonBrown-ol2lz Yes i know it is, i already sell on there but not Lego.
Amazon recently removed the seasonal Xmas Tree and Sleigh because they are "discontinued". Do you think this is a problem going forward?

I have heard it’s really difficult to get listings activated or rebuilt so it could be for sure
which options on Europe? Ebay doesnt work properly in europe...
District sounds just like whatnot absolutely identical, if ur on whatnot your building a community or district and people come to your shows because they know you. U also sell stuff in the BIN just like district the big difference is the shear amount of people on whatnot compared to district, honestly don’t see district making it long. Even Duck bricks sells More on whatnot and M&R is on whatnot as well as a ton of other huge KZread Lego channels

We will see! They are definitely similar. Although you can’t connect in real time with the creator or community outside of the live in whatnot like you can in district. Additionally each district allows other sellers to sell inside of it. Whatnot is great for creators just not for the average LEGO seller. But time will tell!
Sellers misusing the shipping cost (i.e. pricing product for 0.99 and grossly increasing shipping cost) on eBay was the probable cause for them adding fees for shipping. The shipping label bulk discount on ebay kind of helps with that. However, charging fees on tax is ridiculous and the high fees on eBay overall hurt.

Yes I remember the .99 + $45 shipping days. eBay imo has started to price people out. Curious if they will continue to be a long term viable option
The pricing on your district page is wild, even for currently available sets. Why would anyone overpay on that platform when they can get the set for MSRP or even 20% off in most cases. The executor (75356) is currently available for $70 from Walmart and Lego with free shipping, you’ve priced it at $100 plus shipping.

Or get it for even cheaper on whatnot

Just like eBay sellers can charge whatever they want. I haven’t controlled the pricing inside of the Jake’s bricks district yet. If a set is too high it likely won’t sell. You probably aren’t seeing any “deals” per se because they are likely sold.or they sell quickly. Hope this helps

I like what I heard you say about stockx . If they could improve the time to customer would be amazing. Verified shipping would eliminate scams by 99%. If eBay or Amazon would make that option and at a small increase to fees would be icing on the cake
@aquapucci

@@rbletitgo4948 after applying all of their fees, their prices are no longer attractive. They will list that $500 set for $400, but after all the fees, you'll pay $484 for it (this is just an example). I don't think it is worth it.
I sell on ebay and the fees are crazy. I am trying to sell some on facebook.

I went on district but they said they wouldn’t ship to Australia

It just got added so sellers will need to update their listings to turn on shipping to Australia. If you find something your interested in feel free to message the seller

@@JakesBricks ok great thanks a lot I’ll be sure to check what sets u guys have listed
Unfortunately Ebay is still the best method option with the fees. Someone needs to create a new Ebay with 8-10% fees
Beicklink is a mess and you would think when Lego purchased them they would make it easier and become more technologically advanced

I sell lego in Walmart Marketplace also.
