    KeyMouse Alpha no longer has a painted rubber coating, but now has rubber inset into the wrist rest.

    I have to say that these just looks so amazing to use! I was wondering if it is possible to do gestures? Something a la pinch to zoom and “three finger swiping” between desktops and so on. I use these motions a lot on MacOS. Imagine it could be activated by a hotkey and then the two mouse were acting as the fingers would on a trackpad. I assume it is possible to map scroll to zoom and a hotkey to slide between desktops, but it just looks so much more fun use the mouse sensors for that :)

    Thanks for the support! It may be possible to program gestures. Since that would be more of touch screen or touch pad type functions, we actually have not really tested it.

    I would go for a trackball but without the number row; your explanation of the function layers has me convinced that the number row is unnecessary. Similarly, I would have no need for a left trackball. I use an adjustable desk so much of the day I spend standing, but the ability to mount to a chair, that would be comfy (I would probably fall asleep lol). Finally, if you can go to some switch options like holy panda you might pick up more of the mechanical keyboard crowd.

    Is the key remapping firmware? Also are the keycaps removable? I prefer a Dvorak keyboard layout and am wondering if I'd have to redo my keymapping for multiple devices. Switching keycaps with blank keycaps is also preferable for Dvorak

    I can't wait for this product but I have a few questions: 1: will the new key mouse have backlit? if so will there be an option to exclude backlit? 2: will it be wireless? 3: will MX speed sliver be a switch option? 4: when will it be released!? No rush :p Thank you!

    Very intrigued. How fast can you type on it? Wouldn’t it increase carpal tunnel syndrome by locking hands into a single positon longer? Also a downside would be since no numberpad, no rapid way to do accounting, calculations, lots of numbers typing as efficiently. Would still love to try it someday.

  • @keymouseofficial

    A couple points here: 1. There is a short learning curve to it, and of course typing speed would vary by user, but users say they can type faster and more comfortable than a standard keyboard once the learning curve is over. 2. As for carpal tunnel, according to an article on healthline.com it says "Carpal tunnel syndrome can be made worse if the wrist is overextended repeatedly. Repeated motion of your wrist contributes to swelling and compression of the median nerve. This may be the result of: - positioning of your wrists while using your keyboard or mouse - prolonged exposure to vibrations from using hand tools or power tools - any repeated movement that overextends your wrist, such as playing the piano or typing" So, I think it would be better for the wrist to be in the same position. Of course, there are a lot of different factors that may cause carpal tunnel, that aren't even related to keyboards. 3. There is a number-pad on the yellow layer by default. Because the devices are fully programmable, the user can very quickly and easily assign Fn lock keys to lock in that layer for any period of time (and also to lock back to the default layer). So, if you do a lot of accounting or number typing, you can quickly alternate back and forth from the QWERTY layout to the number-pad by the press of a button, all while keeping your hands in the same position. On a standard keyboard, using the number-pad would require the user to move their hands back and forth from the number-pad to the main key area.

    How much time is needed to mount and unmount the keymouse chair track? I am considering to use same device for office and home, so i will be carrying it between office and home daily. If possible, please make a video explaining this. Thank you.

  • @keymouseofficial

    @keymouseofficial

    The time would be dependent on what components are used to mount to the chair (mounting brackets and/or platforms and/or diagonal braces), but regardless, it should take less than a minute or two to remove the parts from one chair and mount on a different chair. One idea is you could get the chair mounting brackets and/or platforms and/or diagonal braces for both chairs, then all you would need to do is move the device from one to the other.

    KeyMouse If you do design the nub mouse, i was wondering if you can put the mouse buttons as inline buttons on the ledge/corner just under the function keys. With part of the button(s) being a part of the ledge.

    @@keymouseofficial i have another idea for motion. are you familiar with a thumbstick? such as whats used for the neogeo pocket? something larger at the bottom of the upper layer on to of a locked base. the base probably has a circle gate or octa gate and can move up to the edge of the inner sides of the base. to facilitate movement, the mouse wheel or a mouse wheel can be used to directly scroll the cursor speed. this would be dieectly usable as joysticks in this way and can tap into people interested in fighting games

    I have used both of them for extended periods of time. I lean more toward the Alpha (unless you already are a hard-core trackball user then go with Track), but mostly because I'm more of a mouse person. I'm a lot faster with the mouse than trackball. KeyMouse Alpha is bigger than a mouse, so you do lose some precision, but can make up for it with hotkeys that slow the mouse to precision mode, etc. All the keys are at your fingertips the whole time. With Alpha you have to learn more hotkeys, though because the devices are smaller with less keys (easier to move as a mouse).
