Gamers: Playstation Plus is not meant to be competition for Game Pass, so they shouldn't be compared. Gamers: Let's compare Playstation Plus and Game Pass. Playstation Plus is the Game Pass killer and is Sony's anwer to Game Pass. At the end of they day they are two services that have games. Depending on your criteria, one might be better than the other, we all don't have the same criteria.

Gamepass for day 1 releases. TMNT anyone? I also like that it is a monthly subscription so u can easily unsubscribe if u don’t feel like playing. After current subscription runs out, I’ll probably take some time off until persona 4/5 comes out

@@str8poisintv131 good one when both gears and halo are bigger than god of war I’ve had both since god of war and gears of war started and there’s a reason halo and gears exist over killzone and resistance and nah Sony fangirls have rose tinted glasses bragging about paying for demos and to stream ps3 games I’ll pass I upgraded to the premium version of ps + and after a couple of minutes of playing red dead redemption I canceled the sub and went back to Xbox I’m ok I’ve played ps5s overhyped exclusives like returnal and destruction all stars and I had to turn my ps5 off cus it was so boring I had to go back to ps3 just to play a better game like twisted metal

If Sony would actually spend the funds and time to design and install a native PS3 emulator on PS4/PS5s through firmware update, I think the enticement to spend that steep price tag for PS Plus Premium would greatly increase. The seventh generation of consoles had some truly iconic games and whether or not you've played them before or are coming in fresh, streaming is just a garbage way to experience them.

Streaming is ok for ps3 games if u have ok speed, i have 200 mbps, and run ok... Expecialy games that not need good camera control like first pearson shooters, fighters games like mortal combat and lego games, etc, runs like i instal tham on hard👍🥃🥃

On ps premium Im just getting a lot of first party stuff that I don't have but could've been way more than the price tag of 120 a year. Pretty great deals for both yet now the series sx are able to play some series sx games off a regular external which is very sweet.

The scary part for me who only wants the same PSN annual subscription I've been getting for years is that when I was scrolling through the premium games list to see if I should upgrade, I noticed that I own most games that were given for free through the regular subscription service. I feel like going forward, they will give weaker monthly games and put the type of free games weve been getting on the premium service going forward.

Great thing about game pass if are trying to get into gaming like me I never played a halo game with gamepass I have the ability to play them all from start to finish

I enjoy both services for sure! I’m not a big fan of the classic library on the PlayStation service but I imagine it will only get better in time. I tend to play my Xbox more because of Session skateboarding sim.

Gamepass doesn’t need a roadmap. It’s literally day one on their titles and several others. Ea play got added in. All Bethesda games are going in. Once the Activision deal is done those will go in to.

FYI, you can add in EA to PS+ and its actually cheaper. EA Play is 30$, so on top of PS Premium it totals 150$ a year, where Gamepass Ultimate is 180$.

except gamepass let's you play first day releases and let's you keep said games whilst Sony remove games every month and add two mediocre titles at best. gamepass will continue to be best overall because of day 1 releases and better services than playstation plus and this is coming from someone who plays just PS4/PC

@@d3viltube6 not that I disagree but tbf Xbox does also remove titles every month. For example, GTA V and RDR2 used to be on gamepass and then they were removed so I bought them both, however they were discounted at a good price because of that though so it was cool.

I have been loving playimg old games. Playing, Maxpayne 3, Fallout New vegas, RDR1, Time spliters, GTA4, Fallout3, Bully, Manhunt, Splinter cell, Specs the line, Kane And Lynch, Star wars episode 3 revenge of the Sith game, Witcher 2. Do not see anything wrong with old games.

I would never argue that PS+ is a better deal, but they do have more games that I want to play. No one can account for personal preferences. Max saying he's 'inclined towards PlayStation' isn't anti-Xbox, it means there are games currently (and probably coming to the service) that he prefers to play.

pretty sure he was moaning about how bad gamepass was for gaming a while back. I actually didn't see much on the psn to make it standout better than gamepass. it has a long way to go

As a guy that bought his first playstation since the PS2 days with the PS5, I'm loving the playstation plus service because there are a ton of great PS4 and older generation exclusives I never had the chance to play and I love that I can just jump into them. My internet is good enough for the streaming function so I can just load up a game, play a bit and jump into something else. I've had my playstation about 2 weeks now and I'm already gaming much more than I used to and loving it

Gamepass no competition but ps plus is new I'm sure it will grow and be even better as time goes on. If ps3 games were playable natively I would lean a little more towards ps plus. My internet can't stream games smoothly enough for me to play ps3 games.

The man behind the ps3 made the architecture extremely hard to emulate, I think sony is finally taking steps to work on emulating due to a patent I saw, but it could take years and a lot of money, but I think it’s finally being worked on

Got extra and have been pretty happy. Definitely impacted my purchase habits though. Like I was going to buy the new tmnt, but if it’s free on game pass why would I pay full price instead of just wait a little bit?

I own both so im not biased. But This is what Sony pony’s don’t comprehend. “I was going to buy this but it’s on gamepass”. Literally saved hundreds if not thousands of dollars this way. Then you get the people “but you don’t own it” you can literally beat and 100% a game. If you’ve already 100%ed a game how many times are you really going to replay it?? There’s times where it’s an exception but 99% you don’t need to buy it if you’ve already 100%ed it. Rather than buying it Just for it to sit unplayed for years. While people with gamepass have already played 10 games for the 1 game you bought. While also saving money on top of it.

I would of love PS Plus Premium to compete, but gatekeeping PS3 natively being able to play on the PS5 and having to pay for demos of PS games that they didnt want to add is not appealing to me.

If you’re looking for new AAA games gamepass is better. monthly, gamepass is cheaper. Premium gets primarily old games, retro and the occasional new release like shadow warrior and stray. It just depends what you’re look for. Also if you sign up for the year Premium is cheaper. Both are great value really

It depends what AAA games you prefer. Gamepass will have all the Bethesda ones and if you buy to ultimate you get the EA ones as well. But for even cheaper you can get PS Extra and EA Play together for 130$ a year, or even PS Premium and EA Play for 150$, where Gamepass Ultimate is 180$. And you get a ton of Sony AAA, Ubisoft AAA and all EA AAAs. So it really depends if you prefer Bethesda or Sony AAAs.

There are a bunch of games I never would have tried normally on both... and I bought them after anyway (game pass removed a couple) like for example Xenocrisis, never heard of it before I tried it, then I bought it sometime after

I’ll be getting both. I really wish Sony would bring more games to PS Plus both retro and new games and to Steam.

May be its bad luck or im dumb but every game i want to try on game pass it doesnt let me play on my PC... Whats the point? I tried to grab mass effect LE and it said not available for PC via game pass. I thought i can play any games on Game pass but guess not...

I'm waiting for the classics library to fill up for the PS Plus Premium. As it stands now, it hasn't got much to offer that I'm interested in.

If you have the ability to get both do it. I enjoy them for different reasons. We have so many options nowadays from these services to emulation…good time to be a gamer imo

Great video. I'm just become a Xbox owner and a game pass for the past 2 months. And I feel like I've gotten more out of game pass than I've gotten out of PlayStation and I was with PlayStation for 5 years. Don't get me wrong PlayStation's plus is good. But I can't stand the fact that they still don't have backwards compatibility. And for me that weighs a lot. I was able to get myself an Xbox 360 for very cheap and started buying up the games cheaply. So when I got a deal on an Xbox One. I was able to take everything over and continue playing my games and some new stuff that I never played before.

i am an xbox owner and cancelled game pass cus most of the games are midiocre or i own em already and to say you got more of gamepass look bro that's you not buying games the ps library is far superior to what xbox has delivere since the end of 360 thats a fact i rather have quality games than a damn rental service.and backwards compatibility is a good thing but youre on the minority there majority of gamers barely use that.even xbox moved on from that program they stopped retrofiiting games for it what you have now is all you will get.

I don't have GamePass so I cant really judge but it seems great value and most likely the main reason to own an XBOX for many. What I can judge is PS+ and I have to say I love the new version. Firstly I love the upgrade path, I was able to get Premium for only €38 on top of my existing subscription which ends in February. Its insane how many great games there are, so many games I would of put if they were cheaper, are now mine, I am downloading Demon Souls as we speak and that is a game I was most likely going to buy later this year. I now do not have to spend a tenner to upgrade my PS4 version of Death Standing to get the PS5 directors cut. Games like Vampyr and Bioshock infinite are now are mine to play if I want. Even smaller games, I can now finally play Dark Cloud having only having access to a demo when I was younger. The big test for PS+ is what comes every month. I think the value of Essentials has just gone way down because of the new library with Extra but it will be important that new games keep coming each month, and just to essentials. I feel like right now with Premium the reason why it launched a bit barebones is because they want to keep things fresh for months and years. I fully expect downloadable PS3 games to come, it just might be years away. For now for me my plan is to enjoy every premium game that interests me until I lose Premium in February and then I will go back to it once the library builds back up a bit. For now though overall I am spoiled for choice. I love how some PS4 games are Streamable and Downloadable so that I can at least test a game before I decide to download it providing my Internet holds up lol.

Game pass includes EA play as well, but I can stream game pass games to my phone, tablet, and pc. I was streaming from my home Xbox GTA online playing with my friends when I was in the hospital, it was like I was at home.

I'm PS guy since PSX days, it's a no brainer to not join their side, the possibilities is too much valueable to miss and be a fan boy right now, multi console player is a bliss.

I have PS Premium. My gripe with PS Now was and seemingly with PS Premium is that content doesn't change too often. Jak and Daxter games hav been there for years. Could we get other classics as well, Sony? I don't have Xbox Game Pass so can't really comment on that.

I got the premium tier for a year because it's so cheap, I don't know though, These older games play like shit, I have lightning fast Internet and I am running into all kinds of problems trying to stream, It has got to vastly improve if I'm going to sign up for a second year

I think maybe the mid tier for a year would be best. If you find enough games to make it worth while. I might do that and turn off the auto renew so I have a year to work on some games.

But with ps extra can you play the og GOW cuz all the extra premium essential is really confusing

I got the psplus premium and downloaded games I wanted to play for a long time like Outer Wilds, Guardians of the Galaxy and Tetris effect. What happened is exactly what I expected: I lost interest on all three of them because I was too tempted to look for other games. I downloaded FF9 and I’m 3 hours in. I feel that If I’d pay for those games myself full price I would probably commit to them more. Same thing happens to me with streaming services, never finish anything as I get easily lured in to other programs. I also want to play FFXIII but its nowhere to be found. Its the only one I haven’t finished.

I finally downloaded Returnal after upgrading my PS Plus subscription to Extra. Just wanted to try it out knowing I would ultimately be frustrated with getting my ass kicked by the game and after paying $60-$70 for it. I was right!

@@Scion142 I probably would have forced myself to play it if I paid 70 bucks for it. Now I won’t play more than 20 minutes. It’s easier to leave it there which is unfortunate because I’m sure it’s a great game. I started liking RPG’s because my dad bought me Phantasy Star 2 when I was a kid and had no other game to play but that one for a whole summer. It forced me to do it. Right now a kid with game pass would never waste their time with something that doesn’t immediately grab him. Weird right?

Xbox game pass for sure, new games new graphics and much more fun than old games , i prefer the games remake rather than a good games for their time not for recent time . Thanks

Are there any games on Game pass with better graphics than Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Returnal, Miles Morales, Demon's Souls...? I had GamePass for 4 months and there wasn't enough quality there to keep me subscribed.

That is true. Sony claims they quality of the game will go down if they do Day and Date in their service. Let be honest, Sony cant do that because you can't keep releasing remasters and remakes and charge full price. The last of us part 2 is likely in line for a remake and remaster so they can put them in the service. Also, I thought the Ponies did not buy a new system to play old games.

@@Fuzionnoirmag I highly doubt a remake for part 2 happens, part 1 wasn’t even really planned by naughty dog. A small studio was making it to prove to Sony they could handle big budget titles but after it costing too much and taking over 3 years, Sony just gave it to naughty dog to finish

But isn't that what gamepass is? A bunch of recycle games from the past two decades, a bunch of inidi day one releases and everything exclusive keeps getting push back.

Retroarch works on Xbox so what ever is on ps1,ps2 classics you can play there on your xbox plus snes,dreamcast,gamecube,ps1,ps2,wii games if you own a xbox and a gaming pc ultimate is worth it

I have both and I think both have their strengths and weaknesses. PS plus has many more games but many PS3 titles are only played by streaming and on a bad day, they kick me out of the game when my internet is too slow. What I like about Game Pass is that I never get kicked out of the game when streaming and every game can be downloaded. They also offer day one releases like TMNT and Horizon and the ability to play in multiple devices like PC. PS plus premium is only for hardcore retro gamers but what I like about Playstation is they offer 2nd tier which is a better deal in my opinion.

I'm really liking the new ps plus. I got rid of my gamepass sub. They haven't been adding anything good, so I have no reason to pay for it.

I forgot I was subscribed to PS Now. I logged into my PS5 fir the first time in a while and found that I have the premium subscription until December. There are games I want to play so I think my PS5 will get some more use now. I wonder how many other subscriptions I have that I have forgotten about.

Sony and Microsoft are negotiating deals. It's not the same as adding support for old games where they can make multiple games compatible then make a single announcement. These deals are time bound, and so its more like publishing a game. Its ready when it's ready.

I have my ps4 plus. I've been playing the Guardians of the Galaxy on stream. I have gotten a few times of it being laggy and got kicked out one time. I have a really bad Wi-Fi and it still plays pretty well. If you pay for the service yearly, it's worth the extra $20 for premium instead of the catalog. There's definitely plenty of games the mess around with. Plus ( no pun intended) PlayStation just launched this new service this month. I'm sure it will get better through time

I use to stream on now for old school ps3 or ps2 titles. Makes no sense to stream ps4 or ps5 games on ps5 when it can download those games. It's a lot easier to access games streaming. But it is better to buy these games individually on ps3 store digitally. BTW most ps3 gems are super cheap if you can find the disc's same with 360 games. Sony and Microsoft will try to update consumers with more profits but I would buy the ps3,ps4 gems because the prices are going down.

@@christianhenry4173 I stream because i don't have that much space. I only have 1 terabyte and own around 450+ ps4 games. I tried ps now on my ps3. It wasn't playable. I will get a ps5 in a few years. Either way I think that the service is pretty good for what it is. Still I do wish they kept tekken tag 2 on ps now and not a $9999 tekken 2 game lol.

@@christianhenry4173 I only have like 45 ps3 games. Good thing I dont own a lot of the games that the service does have. I'm a pretty old school gamer. I can wait for the scalpers to die down and the bugs all get fixed on ps5. There's always been some issues with different Generations. Don't stop gaming. I might have calmed down through the years but I'll never quit.

I like both of them, none are really better in the long run, they have different games (not including ones they both have), i love PS for GOW etc XB for Forza etc, each to their own ✌️

Gamepass being 75$ a year using conversion method. 75$ vs 120$. Xbox classics have FPS Boost,Auto HDR,Quick Resume. I own both too it’s not some biased opinion but it’s just not gamepass. It has its perks I bought the service. But to say one isn’t better than the other is false. 75$vs120$ for a better service. As the years go buy and Xbox actually has more exclusives the gap in value is just going to get even bigger.

When giving the yearly subscription price, Why dont you also give the per month price?

I feel like it is unfair to compare them as of now since PS just started the service compared to Xbox having the service running for years now. Regardless, this is an amazing time for us consumers due to high competition and more selection for us! Hopefully it only gets better from here

Good point, I think it’s still a solid launch for the service, but it’ll obviously get better, gamepass launched pretty good too, but it was not at the level it’s at today. Either way they’re both great options for gamers

I paid £21 to have premium until the end of the year & already downloaded returnal & death stranding (so technically I’ve already saved money there)

Anyone else not getting the trophies from games? I am streaming Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue. It is showing trophies on the stream, but not on the PS5.

First time seeing this channel. Love the name. The dream cast was so amazing for its time. Greatest football game ever made.

I think most would probably prefer Game Pass We have to see how well ps plus ends up being supported to really make a judgment. Took game pass a while to get to where it is

@@wrldnel5200 I just wasn't using it unfortunately. Not that it was bad. I was just paying and either falling off games really quickly or not playing for months at a time. Its more of a me problem though

Sony need to go day and date as well as having proper PS3 emulation with the option for disk ownership too before I sub to the top tier, hopefully they can build a decent emulator for PS3 games in the future.

I own both consoles ect ps plus ain't worth it... emulation and games look terrible can emulate them on my gaming laptop and make em run and look way better

Gamepass is better

If your internet speed is below about 50/60mbps then you will have a bad time cloud gaming, its best to have 100mbps or better speeds for cloud gaming sadly the best I can get right now is a VDSL 70mbps line and I have tried both PS Now & Xbox Cloud Gaming and while they are not laggy you can see the image quality going up and down, okay for most games but made fast paced shooters harder to play.

I got premium plus. And I’ve been having a blast! I have 4 games downloaded waiting to be plaid after I finish ghost directors cut. And it’s true. I’ve downloaded some games out of my comfort zone but I’m satisfied. So far great ps5 enhancements too.

I’m in the same boat for different reasons. Gamepass I think long term is the better value, as a Sony fan all my life, I have most of the games on Plus. And I know that any game Sony makes will not be on for a year plus. I’m not waiting that long to buy it. So long term Plus is the more likely for me to cancel, mainly because I like Sony more if that makes sense.

You can get Game Pass for free through Microsoft's Reward Program. No purchase necessary. Wish I could say the same for PS+.

@@Scorpio-- Yeah that's really cool but if the people ain't gon support the gamepass by exploiting the 1 dollar trick or monthly accounts, or reward programs, it'sd a recipe for disaster. You have to support what they're trying to achieve or else you'll see in time everything turn like the halo multiplayer, micro transactions and that's a scary future you don't want.

Gamepass is better. No question.

The game I enjoying most is fighting game. No looking for keys or access pass. Or doing odd quest to unlock legendary weapon.

You want a road map for GP? They just gave one. They had a picture with 50 games coming in the next 12 months and had the game pass logo over most of them.

@dreamcastguy, thoughts on New Super Luckys Tale? I've been playing it a ton. it is a gem platformer tbh, underrated. Can't go wrong since it is on game pass. It's definitelly different and better than original Super Lucky.

@@pianisthun NSLT is more of a condensed version of SLT with some of SLT's DLC. I liked SLT more because it had far more content. NSLT was good too though .

Have both (enjoy ps+ extra tier) for the exclusives

I have a PS5 with PS Plus premium and an Xbox series X and A mid-range gaming PC with game pass ultimate. I'm definitely getting more value out of game pass, it lets me play all the Xbox games so I can actually buy the PlayStation games. And I've downloaded like 60 games on PC, games that have been on my radar for years in some cases that I just never got around to checking out. Overall though I'm definitely playing more PlayStation 5 than anything else. Elden Ring and the rest of the souls games that I have on PlayStation are really fucking good. I also want to check out Final fantasy XIV, it seems cool and that's weird coming from me because I've never liked MMO games, I've tried all of the major ones and none of them click for me. On Xbox I'm still playing the same games I've been playing for the last 20 years, halo, Ninja gaiden, dead space, dead rising, gears of war, and so on. Which is nice that I can do, but the new experiences are definitely on PlayStation for the most part.

I have GamePass Ultimate and Ps Plus Extra. Both are $15 monthly. Both services are good, but in my opinion PS Plus Extra is nowhere near as good as GamePass. PS Plus has more games, but GamePass has higher quality games. The only good games in PS Plus Extra are the ones that were already included in the PS Plus Collection. Marvel Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales, Ghost of Tshushima Director's Cut, and Assassin's Creed Valhalla are great games too, but I already own them all. I went through the entire library on PS Plus Extra and so many of the included games were trash, and most of them are the same games that were included in PS Now.

That's true, a lot of them you already had through PS collection and just standard PS+. But if you don't, then its good value. I still think PS+ has better games, but I had already played a lot of them, because Gamepass has worst games in my opinion is why I hadn't played them lol and now get to play them. It's kind of strange when you think about it.

Thats untrue,you get pretty much all PS4 Sony classics with ps5 upgrades. And now more and more ps5 games are added.

Game pass basic 9.99/month has 300 + games but if you get ultimate 14.99/month that includes EA making it over 400 games.

I figure Xbox is better since you don’t need to own physical console.

I think at the end of the day and if you have the time then have a series s and a ps5 digital and get both services as the cost only comes to the same as buying 4 new games a year,It's only worth it if you have the time though.

i really want to see Silent Hill, MGS, Dino Crisis and Parasite Eve on ps plus all should be possible to bring over since they were on PSP/Vita

I have both services and I enjoy both of them. The honeymoon period for PS Plus is still going strong for me, but I still understand that Game Pass is the better service. Lately I've been playing more games on my consoles (specifically my PS4/Switch) but I've been mainly a PC/Xbox gamer the past decade, so the fact that I can play most Game Pass games on my Xbox and my PC as well as cross-save between them has been amazing, especially during the pandemic when I used Game Pass everyday.

I have both consoles and GP Ultimate and now PS Plus Extra do I'm no partisan fanboy. They are both great and both good value. However GP day 1 releases have saved me more than the annual subscription costs and I still have to buy the new PS game releases

@@wrldnel5200 it depends on how much you want to play the exclusives like uncharted, good of war etc If like me you want them it's definitely worth at least 1 years subscription a there are at least 10 exclusives that are in the AAA. Apart from the exclusives both have mostly the same games in their libraries.

I may have a different perspective than most gamers. I'm not the only one in my house that plays video games. My wife and daughters play video games too. After upgrading to PS plus premium, the amount of games I would never try because of the nature of the game, my wife and daughters love! So the value at $10/ month for PS Premium is paying huge dividends. I can't keep them off of Family Feud for example (Ubisoft) or other games that I can know I can get with extra. I know the Ubisoft games came with extra but other racing games and RPG games I wouldn't play they stream regularly now through Platinum. Huge household value. I guess it all depends on your situation. Just the other day we were scrolling through games and my youngest daughter noticed a game for Garfield the cat. She watches the cartoon a lot on Netflix. We went into it and it's a racing game. She has a blast playing it. I would have never touched it. Again that's an experience from a 46 year husband and father.

I used some Sony rewards points to pay for the difference for PS+Premium just to check it out for the year. It’s ok so far. I still find myself playing games I already bought on disc most of the time. I have 1gbps fiber optic Internet through Frontier and have no problem streaming PS3 games. It’s cool to play something fast while the GF is still getting ready and not have to wait for DL times. But I would prefer to play them locally. But so for it’s pretty good. I’d say a good 3.75 out 5.

as fun as system wars are, honestly the industry has increased in size to such an extent that all of the big 3 console makers can independently exist, each with a comfortable profit margin. plus PCs. plus cell phone gaming. gaming is truly unstoppable D: let's go

This might be odd for you and many would disagree with me, but me getting a ps4 in November 2021 after more than a decade of being away from gaming and missing out on a lot of Sony exclusives like gow 4, spider man… getting that ps plus premium really really helped me, instead of paying +50$ on each game for 100 something I got it all in the catalogue and I played all of Sonys exclusive games literally, I even finished god of war from the first game all the way to the last one in 2022 and I played spider man 2 too just because I had spider man 2018 and miles morales in the ps plus. Not to forget some Ubisoft games too on there like watch dogs 1,2 far cry… I really love the ps plus that’s what I’m trying to say AS A NEW COMER

Diablo 4 didn’t mention GamePass. Eurogamer has an article out, PS+ Premium offers 833 games total. Both get good day 1 games though. Stray comes next month and I have a feeling Rollerdrome and Evil West will be the day 1 games the two following months after Stray. They have 3rd Tuesday release dates . . .

Considering how Game Pass originally launched, PS+ is already ahead of that. The next couple years are going to be very telling. PlayStation needs to keep adding to the offerings, and Xbox still needs better first party games to stay competitive.

Stupid question. As a PlayStation 5 owner myself the new tier system is very good but only just been released. So it will take a few more months before there are more great games available.

My Twitch I playing today control DLC 60 FPS series S. 8 euro was ultimate edition.
