    This is a first time in many that I ran 3-way, and I’m never going back to 2-way

    Really appreciate you man. Visual+auditory information as presented in this video goes such a long way in transferring your message across. I don't get why don't more people do it. It so much easier to understand when it is actually shown to you in practice, as opposed to just theoretical information. Cheers man!

    In my decades of experience I've found it's typically the vehicle that will determine if you should run a 2 way or 3 way front stage. Each have their pros and cons. Two way setups are cheaper and easier to install and can sound amazing if the speaker locations and angles are good. Sometimes you really need a small mid to fill in the gap if your large mid can not play high enough. Sometimes the large mid might be mounted too low or angled downward and you can't hear its upper range. Let's say your only hearing its output up to 700Hz. Your tweeter might be able to play down to 3k or 4k Hz. So you have a gap in the frequency response. A small mid is needed to fill that gap. Some vehicles will not have a mounting space for the small mid. It's great if you do, but if you don't, you may have to do a lot of fabrication to mount it.

    My setup is technically a 2way but my tweeters also play midrange and I have a pair of 6.5” in the doors and two subs in the trunk sealed Having replaced an actual tweeter and went to wide band allowed me to bring all those critical midrange frequencies to the dash in stead of being so lossy in the doors. Stereo integrity makes a fantastic midrange/wide band driver and hybrid audio Legatias L2SE are what I’m running. L

    Before i switched over to SQ ... i really never paid any attention to speakers as much... i wpuld usually run a 2 way passive and call it a day...but when i switched over to SQ, it was the best thing i could of done, especially if i consider myself a music lover..an active 2 way was great but an active 3 way has blown me away on how great it sounds .. i cant believe i waisted so many years running passive when an active 3 way and precision tuning will have you sitting in your drive way listening to Fleetwood Mac like its a live band

    I want to go 3 way active but I’m not sure which way to go. I do want some Sylvester’s or Arnold’s 6.5s. Right now I’m running 2 ways meso ct sounds. I did get a suggestion to look into some silver flutes

    arnolds are crazy good, just dont expect them to play lows. Deaf Bonce Machete MM-60 V2's are my personal favorite, they can handle some lows, and have super clear midbass and mids. great speaker if you want to be able to get loud, but still sound good at any volume.

    wont need a mid, themm60s play up to 12k easy for a tweet the Deafbonce ap-t25 neo. ill be running these my self soon. they are a great sounding Pro tweeter, and can get very loud if you want it. plus you can buy recones for them

    a good set of 2 ways should play from 80 to 15K (or lower - to blend w/ the sub) i imagine that the only good a 3.5" mid would do is raise the soundstage.. depending on where they're placed. so i think that if your 6.5's are playing from 80hZ to 2000hZ, and the 3.5's are playing 2000 to 6000hZ, the tweets pick up 6000 to 15,000. the problem i see is in a 2 way the tweeter REALLY needs to be within 6 inches of the big driver. most if not all vehicles do not allow for this.. so coax in a low door ends up sounding more refined than a 2 way with too much separation. that's bonus #2 for a 3.5" right in the middle somewhere... what do you think, fellas?

    i have the same 3 ways - The midrange speakers ,currently only on 2 way due to needing pillars....is it preferred to point the midranges to the ceiling of the car above the front seats or dashboard hitting the front glass? I seen direct to ear and between pillars facing each other...

    Man Honestly, Ive found having very small mids pointing directly towards my ears to be tiring. some like it, but i really dont. ive started crossing my 3.5's at 1200hz and up, and bring my doors up to 900hz with a 12db rolloff leaving a bit of a gap in there sounds better to my ears.

    If you are adding a crossover to your system, would you still need the crossovers that are included in the component set?

  • @CarAudioEnthusiasts

    @CarAudioEnthusiasts

    if youre going to actively crossover the set, with a DSP you dont use the passive crossover that comes with the set. the passive crossover that comes with the set, basically combines the drivers in that set into one "speaker"
