You can buy a house here about 15 minutes from the cities. Have enough room to have horses and a stable. For about 400k

In America Austin is expensive. It's city and city you pay for stuff bad. You can live 30 minutes drive outside the city and find houses with more land and same stuff for cheaper. And in America 1 bathroom is a cheap house. Most people have families and therefore more than one bathroom. One master usually and one for the kids. Sometimes they have 3. Master, upstairs and downstairs

Great video! Compare San Angelo, TX homes for the price, it should rock your socks off. Everything is bigger in Texas! Houston is the armpit of Texas! A real hell-hole! Come to West Texas instead! $800k will get you nearly a mansion. Check it out for San Angelo, TX!

You are reminding me for how dumb i feel that i watched and was enlightened by a video explaining the housing crisis in australia and how other nations can avoid it but not remembering the important details. there was some other monkey business going on that really hurts australians. You made this video at a key time (in US) since not all but some of our markets are self correcting, not everywhere and not to a degree housing still wont be expensive but the hyper inflated over invested areas are losing investors too much money and we at least have a bit of fire sales going on, you may have come across some of this. This just started happening very recently. You should check out what 800k can get you in Grosse Point, fancy suburb north of Detroit.

You can’t compare Houston to Brisbane. For 800,000 USD in Houston you will get a magnificent home with 3 full bathrooms. In Brisbane you will get a dump with 1 bathroom. Houston is the energy and space capital of the world with very high incomes. The economy in Houston is much stronger than Brisbane, so you will have extra money in your pocket in Houston. The only thing they have in common, both are hot and humid most of the year.

Thing is Australia has so many people with so little space. You guys have half your continent closed off. United States has plenty of space

I agree. If they invested more into developing great inland cities, alot of housing problems would solve

@@chrisbooy and it's crazy cause you have aquifers. You have natural springs running under the outback. The aboriginal peoples have been using it for thousands of years. The Romans and greeks and even Mayan peoples were able to build great cities on land without abundant water. It's a process and probably hot as hell. But you can route water through pathways and canals and aquaducts. Hell look at las Vegas my friend. It's in the middle of a dessert. Receives hardly any rain. Look at Phoenix Arizona

I get you have aboriginal lands you want to keep sacred. And protected areas you want to show your children. But when is enough enough. These issues weren't a problem when the thylacine was hunted to extinction. So obviously there is a tipping point. I do feel bad for the thylacine though. That shouldn't have happened. But I don't know much of Australia and your beliefs and practices so it not my place to speak up on topics I don't understand.

@@chrisbooy I apologize. But I think the root of it is that Australia doesn't want to be known like the United States. The United States will forever be stained by what our ancestors did to the native American peoples and stealing their land. Yeah it has changed a lot and now many have sacred lands separate from state and government rules that are run by a tribal council. So I get that Australia doesn't want that smoke.

I've never seen you do bullshit before. That 1.2M house in Brisbane is no way near to a fair and realistic example of Brisbane housing. If you went shopping in metro/suburban Brisbane say within 30 mins of the CBD and that was the best deal you could find you'd have to be as dishonest as an agent.

@@justme.9711 actually I thought the same as you, but just checked and it was inner city, although their city is not as easily defined as Brissie. What wasn't taken into account was cost of living and salary differences between the two countries.
