One detail is missed though. In GTA V you CAN NOT grab a ledge after a jump, which you could do in GTA SA and GTA IV. This severely limits "parkour" options and while more "scripted" animations in GTA V look slicker and ragdolling into walls is fun for a couple of minutes, I way more prefer GTA SA/GTA IV movement.

To be fair, Niko did serve in the military so it would make sense for him to know how to do parkour at certain things. Especially moving from side to side while hanging on a ledge. Reminds me of Uncharted even though Naughty Dog and Rockstar are two completely different companies 😂

CJ and Niko can grab on ledges while in mid-air which can make building-to-building much more fun IMO. But for some reason, this feature is removed in V

I remember getting the strategy guide for San Andreas when it came out and they made a huge deal about CJ’s ability to crouch and climb fences. They touted it as a huge feature at the time and it truly did add a lot to the experience. What a game……

There is two things in GTA 4 and GTA 5 that is Niko Bellic can hang on edges and move from side to side, but not Franklin Clinton he can slide over things but not Niko, that's the two details.

Gta 4's parkour isn't realistic at all. When Niko jumps, it feels like the physics engine directly shifts into moon's gravity, and when he aproaches the ground, again the engine shifts to an abnormal gravity. Niko's movements are extremely slow and clumsy, and don't forget the fact that a 30 year old guy (Niko) is able to hold onto a wall for 24/7, which isn't possible irl.

GTA V had some downgrades. Also auto-jump is kinda annoying when trying to chain specific jumps sometimes.

Are there any specific spots on the map that you would reccomend for parkour?

CJ does what is known as "slap landing" this technique is used only for small heights or emergency situations where a roll can't be done. That's bad Parkour since CJ uses the slap landing for high spots which in real life could easily cause injury.

There's a really cool mechanic in gta 5, that when Franklin runs towards a ledge he slides or he jumps longer, at first I thought it was a bug, because he rarely does that and when he does it has to be very accurate , but I went to test more times and realized that it was not

💠 The Lack in GTA 5 is that, All three Protagonists have same Parkours, same fighting mechanism, even franklin can't crouch and prone while he is younger than other two, all three protagonists have same Gun Mechanics, no one has additional mechanics except Michael's Submachine Mechanics... Niko is 29 in GTA IV, so that would make Michael and Trevor older then him. And another thing is that almost no one can climb stuff as fast as they do in GTA V. GTA IV is better in realism and mechanics

The parkour mechanics i like when playing Gta Sa is when if u jump from building to another building even if the building are too far away cj will just grab on the ledges of that building making it one of the most awesome things i discovered on that game

That's because the game physics is unrealistic not that he is a pro, try those things in real life and you will end up in the hospital or even worse in the graveyard.

This video doesn't show the fact that tommy and carl are really good at doing parkour, but it shows that niko is amazing at being against the euphoria engine even after retirement

Funny thing is Tommy does the roll no matter the height. You cant die from fall damage in VC
