Thanks and thanks for watching! Glad the video was helpful.
Ultra Gloss black for the win, I'm definitely getting my 2024 Jeep Sahara this color!
Vivid almost looks like paint on my roof
Vivid by a mile. The Avery has spots all over it, 3M has major orange peel. I could paint my car and make it look better than those two!
Vivid ultra glass back appears, in this video in your white lights, looks superior. I am wondering if it because of the smaller piece and angles though. I had not seen any of the Vvid or Avery before this video and only came here after reading several reviews of he 3m all of which seemed to be describing a Brownish tone in the sunlight and orange peel look. The sw900 looks better than the 280 in this video under this light but if I only had this to go by would pick neither. I will go look at more detailed reviews on the VVid ultra gloss. My project is a Gold wing that I woudl naturally not want to be covered in something that looks like brand new shiny asphalt. LOL The way that ultra glass loos however , on that smaller piece over the head light woudl be similar to what I am about to try since the pieces I woudl be doing are all smaller sections, curved angles and can be removed and done perfect as they can possibly be before reassembly. I have not seen any Bikes done in person, I am not sure why. I see them online. I am wondering why really because I do see plenty of gnasty faded chipped out scratched up sun bleached bikes everywhere and it seems that this woudl not cost that much to do.

Thanks for watching! I've not had a chance to do a large section of the VVivid Ultra Gloss black, but I have done large sections (car roofs and car hoods) in both the 3M 2080 and Avery SW900, and they look OK at best. 3M has an orange peel look throughout, while Avery's gloss is just, honestly, dull and unimpressive. I might recommend ordering samples of each to test for yourself...things on screen can and do look different in real life. I will tell you though that I wrapped my entire Subaru Outback in VVivid Ultra Gloss Khaki green and everyone that has seen it since seriously thinks I got my car repainted the gloss finish is that good. Even my fellow vinyl wrap installers at the shop I work at said the same.
Vivid!
I believe vivid looks better than the others because its placed on the headlight and not the paint so theres a difference of the texture that you see

Vvivid looks the best IMO after using it. However, the conformity and adhesives suck ass. Even with heat, it doesn't stick well. Hard to wrap on corner because it doesn't stretch well due to thickness. I would choose avery hands down.

@@SamsungTVChannel-et9nv after wrapping my hood for the first time, I agree. I can see the paint peeking in the corners. It also does look like one of the best.
Have you noticed the black on the 3m 2080 change in direct sunlight? I have 2080 on my hood and in the sunlight it has like a brown hue to it. Not a deep gloss black.

No, can't say I've seen that. I do know that vinyl batches can have variations, like anything else massed produced. So, that may be why?

Out of the three shown in this video, I would definitely go with Vvivid in terms of how it looks. I'm not sure if the video does it justice but in real life, Vvivid was noticeably smoother and glossier than both Avery and 3M.
Dang even the ultra gloss has orange peel. It shines the best out of these three, I just can’t wait to see a true gloss with a proper mirror finish.

It's not really an orange peel like 3M as much as being able to see the air release pattern. After about a week or so being outside in the sun, any signs of being able to see the air release pattern disappears.
Definitely love the Vivid better

Vivid actually has a glass finish from what I can see the other ones are bumpy like they have orange peel in them

Yes, it's amazing how paint like vvivid is. 3M is know among most installers to have a horrible orange peel look, even with their newest 2080 series color change vinyl.

How is the 3m 2080. I just ordered some for blacking out a car badge. WIll it last? Or will it look bad after a year or so with washing etc? also might order the avery if its more durable.

Generally speaking, 3M is good and will last. However, like a lot of industries, vinyl wrap manufacturers have been affected with all the quality and supply and logistic issues, so I've been seeing on various wrap forums some install shops have been having issues with 3M quality recently. However, in the shop I work at, we used some Avery gloss black and had to switch over to 3M because the quality that Avery was pretty bad in the roll we got

@@ColorChangeCustoms THANK YOU. iv just reddit post titled "Really dissapointed with 3M 2080's durability. More info in captions." In this reddit everyone is claimed 3m durability is bad and avery lasts much longer and is less affected by stone chips. Iv bought both, however since its going to be at the front of my car, which in your opinion will be more resistant to stone chips?
@ColorChangeCustoms
Жыл бұрын
@@johnboy2436 both vinyls are pretty thin, so their resistance to stone chips is minimal at best especially at the front end. Maybe pick the one you like best and do a double layer, if stone chip resistance is what your looking for.

@@ColorChangeCustoms Dang dude iv already bought both, would there have been a wrap that would have been suitable for me. Brand wise? I could double up i never thought of that. Like i said on reddit many people are claim the avery wrap holds up much better than 3m.
That 3M has got orange peel for days...
@ColorChangeCustoms

It sure does. Sad, because one expects better from 3M, the "industry standard." Even my fellow vinyl wrap installers at work think 3M gloss black is pretty meh, given the brand name.
Vivid hands down , it sticks out waaaay more even if it was laid out like the rest you can clearly see the the difference in texture FA SHO

@@ColorChangeCustoms HELLLL YEAAAAA I’ll definitely be waiting on that I want to wrap my car so bad but I have to wait for my fender piece to come in
There is no question that vivid looks the best. Aver looks like a very bad paint job and has a hazy shine. 3M looks like a great shine but terrible orange peel. After seeing that, there is just no way I would put Aver or 3M glossy on my car. I just bought 2-inch 3M 2080 Satin for a window chrome delete for my black 2016 Volvo XC90 and my son thinks I made mistake and should have gone glossy. I'm now thinking about using real paint instead (I used to paint cars).
